As of 1 December 2023, the Immigration Department of Malaysia will require foreign nationals to complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) prior to their arrival in Malaysia.
Except:
1. Singaporeans
2. Malaysian permanent residents and Malaysia long-term pass holders, including Employment Pass (EP) and MM2H (Malaysia My 2nd Home) pass holders
3. Those with Brunei common identification certificates and Brunei Malaysia Frequent Traveller Facility, holders of Thai border passes and Indonesian Cross-Border passes
4. Diplomatic passport holders
* Those transiting/transferring through Malaysia without seeking immigration clearance do not have to submit the MDAC.

It says to fill out within three days before arrival so does that mean it has to be exactly 3 days before arrival or can I fill it out one week before arrival? I am staying three days in Japan before flying on to Malaysia so if it has to be exactly 3 days before then I would have to use the computer at the hotel I suppose.?

You can use a device such as tablet, phone, computer with internet access.

It's ok now, the MDAC form functions normally and date can be selected.

They disabled the date on purpose because their system currently is not able to register new MDAC applicants. To save the hassle they have chosen this path. The shortcoming is that those who were previously authorised cannot register for MDAC. My speculation.
The Google Bard (AI) is able to analyse source code of that page and it sort of confirms my suspicion that they disabled the dates on purpose.

Hi, depending on where you are at, the mdac system is on Malaysian time. Should be able to select now?

According to the announcement, yes you have to. However you can ask the immigration officer there if it is required.

Hi, yes you can go out from the airport, make sure you meet the entry requirements; visa (if required), mdac, etc. and enough time.

Yes, it is required for each foreign visitor according to the announcement. Currently there's no group submission.

Hi, you can't stay indefinitely if your visa/ pass doesn't allow you to. So you have to enter the date of departure.

Hi the departure date should be the same as your return ticket departure date. As currently the MDAC cannot be edited, you should ask the immigration officer any inquiries you have.

My friend was already in malaysia before this implementation and she plans to visit singapore for 2 days, can she submit the mdac before leaving malaysia? Or does she have to fill it out after officially leaving?

@@theresearchfiles doesn't the policy say every subsequent visit the mdac is required? What I'm concerned is that they might not accept her mdac hypothetically because she hasn't left malaysia yet and she already has an mdac in the system, or does the 'within 3 days prior' condition hypothetically mean she can fill it out when shes in queue for the immigration gate?
@@wenbin9554 Hi, the second part of this video is meant for those who wish to use the e-gate. Then yes MDAC is compulsary.
If she is not gonna use the e-gate, she may not need it, if she is already in the country. Visitor will have to fill it up 3 days prior to arrival in Malaysia, but she is already in Malaysia before the implementation. I am not so sure.
There is a grace period until end of the year, yes she can still fill it out at the queue for now.

Hi if you're going to pass immigration, then yes you need the MDAC
You don't, layover does not require you to pass immigration.

MDAC means Malaysia digital arrivel card so once you arrive in kulalampur must be registered
I filled this in but their thumbprint system has been down for 2 months so they can't register me at all! not sure if the officer is fooling me or not

Hi, As of 1 December 2023, the Immigration Department of Malaysia will require foreign nationals to complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) prior to their arrival in Malaysia. I believe it is for every foreigner, even those not using e-gate.

What exactly does 3 days before arrival means If the arrival date is 16 Dec, mdac must be filed 14 Dec or 13 Dec?

You have to fill it if you plan to use the autogate (for certain countries), otherwise you can either fill the digital or the manual arrival card.

You will be allowed to stay in Malaysia as long as your pass permits. Usually the departure date should be the same as the departure date on your return ticket.
