I LOVE seeing momma and babies this age again! I grew up with Irish setters, and my mom was a breeder and handler, so I got to see 1 to 2 litters a year, and cuddle the beautiful, precious puplettes for years.

So sweet and Lacey is a good Momma too. My Yellow Lab Cassie had 10 puppies in one litter. I had to help break open the sack because she was sooo tired. But all pups were very healthy and happy. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’m not saying this to be negative, I’m honestly curious - why do they wipe off the babies first instead of letting mama clean them?

The Mom gets tired really quickly and some puppies may need some stimulation and mucus suctioned out. Momma is kissing and claiming them all. ❤️❤️❤️
Yes I know very little about new born puppies but I always thought it was the Mother's job to initially lick the puppies clean!! This is an area of the birthing that is best left to the natural instincts of the mother dog after all if they were being born outside of human interaction they would indeed be cleaned by the mother!! Absolutely acknowledge the sheer love, attention etc, etc that the male owner is so obviously giving to these little one's!!! Well done indeed!!
