Bullet hell style boss battles, intense fast paced sword play, evil machines demonstrating perverse versions of human traits. This game is an argument for video games as art. Amazingly well made, I love it
he would just stand there all his life i guess XD, it seems he didnt really start evolving untill he was attacked anyways so i guess he would just stay dumb untill somthing attacked him and made him evolve. in fact thats one of the reasons why the machines were alowing the andriods to live since the conflict with them was actually helping the machines to learn and evolve
This may sound weird, but my favorite part in the game was probably when Auguste showed up. I mean, of all the machines to fight, the one everyone thought was never going to be important was a boss. It made the world feel bigger than what we got to see. Something I like about NieR: Automata is how every boss or event feels important, no matter when it happens in the story. Guys like Adam, who's just a boss not even halfway through the game, or the Opra Singer really stuck with me, and it seemed like they stuck with the characters in-game as well. I think Auguste proved to me that what I felt when playing this game was intentional. The creators put a lot of heart into their story and gameplay, and they probably hoped people would remember stuff like the bucket robot helping his brother. So they made him a boss much later. this game really deserves a 10/10 for going the extra mile in gameplay and storytelling.
i know this comment is a bit late but with the anime out now ive been replaing the game and watching old videos, anyways talking about this fight and 9s hacking did you know theres unique hacking minigames for that fight if you play as 9s? you probably have to turn on debug mode to make a2 invincible to see them all as its likely she wll die before you fnish all 4 normally but theres a really cool easter egg if you hack her 4 times

This is small but I really love the - W A R N I N G - popup and alarm drone sound when a boss battle begins. It feels like some kind of emergency like the YoRHa units can detect that they can easily be killed by whatever is in front of them. I also like that the names the system fails to translate are left in angelic, adding and aura of mysticism around whatever you're fighting during your first playthrough. Really unique and cool way to identify a boss
Adam and Eve were such an intelligent dynamic. Machines learning more of human existence and awareness, becoming fascinated, not disgusted, by humans, while still understanding their physical and analytical superiority. They represented a sort of personality that is rarely seen in most robotic si fi titles, that instead of wishing death upon humans, they were interested in the humans, wanting to understand their complexity and unique traits that machines can’t truly obtain. It was such a smart move to make them the way they were in my opinion, as they tried to act like humans in order to gain those traits, or some semblance at least. The fruit scene, the emotional connection Eve showed, the interest and want to read books for a true understanding of the world, all being things only humans would invest time and energy doing (except the apple of course) and they do it to gain intelligence, understanding, and human sentience.
I like how this game seamlessly switches genres - it goes from 3D action to sidescrolling-platforming to bullet hell shoot-em-up. I absolutley need this game, and I’m glad I’ve been waiting - the Game of the YoRHa edition is out. Hopefully it goes on sale soon and long enough to buy. EDIT: Bought this a week ago and really enjoying it. I must have logged 30 hours (at least) before I got to Ending A. And I have yet to lose a life.

It is for that reason the 9S\A2 fight is one of my favorites. The emotional build up from 9S, A2 trying to explain 2B’s stance in YoRha, the DIALOGUE!!! It’s great.
1:07:08 favorite boss fight. It's intense the music is down right beautiful and I the whole mission that lead up to it wwas quite dramatic and frightening. Pascal's barely seemed to have a reaction to it all though.
Took fall damage on low health, entered dangerous health treshold, had auto recovery (i think that's what it's called) chip which automatically used a recovery item.

weird thing to ask: they should make dlc for the joke ending that says 2b goes fishing, it would be cool to have a funny fishing minigame and have to fight androids and machines
So at the beginning, 2B tells 9S androids are forbidden from having emotions, but at endgame, 2B appears to have fallen in love with her partner, and grieves because she can't save him physically due to the corruption after Eve severed from the network... Such a tragic love story

guys im stuck at the big spider like ball thing creature just outside the resistance camp, i dont have potions or anything, i cant buy cause theres no vendor and i cant leave cause it wont let me, the game ends and etc, ending L....what can i do? i only have one save. im stuck....thanks
well i had the same problem during my first playthrough and since i was completely underleveled it was really frustrating. I know this won't rly help but just try again and again to beat it learn how it moves when it moves and try to avoid everything... thats how i did it xD
