Im confused on what you mean cause they only counted adlibs and high notes. The reason the added line bars are bigger then the rest is because it represents the total of all their lines together.
The 2 columns are showing their total lines with and without adlibs. So the "Lines" column is their total WITHOUT the adlibs, and the "Ad Libs" column is their total WITH the adlibs.
