    I am currently studying Medical Laboratory Science. I just wanted to say that the way we were taught to calculate SD used the same method that you did except, instead of dividing by "n" we did "n-1" My answer to your example problem turned out to be 3.16

      Just found out that (n-1) is used when using a sample of a population.
