Oh!!!! The Old Goat is feeling cuddly this week. He's on the shelf behind the "We should probably cuddle" sign behind Mama Hoss. I had used seed tape back when I was a kid and my parents were letting me have my section of the garden, but not since. As to carrots, I like to grow sugarsnax and Tendersweet.
I have 2 custom folders and several nice hunting knives, but the 2 I still use the most are the ones I got as a kid in the early 70's. A buck knife and a old barlow. Old Goat is on the shelf behing the "we should probably cuddle" valentines sign.
Great episode. Our favorite carrots to grow is the Napoli and Valero. I love to grow this with my students at Saint Andrews Episcopal school in Jackson Mississippi. Nothing better than seeing the eyes of a student when they’re pulling that carrot from the ground.

I finally had a successful crop of carrots growing the Belero Carrot! The taste is great. I tried my hand at fermenting them. I can’t believe how wonderful they taste.

Checked my boyfriends Case knife it had CV on the blade? Boyfriend said that he tried Seed Tape a few years ago with minimal results. Have most of our garden planned out for the year. Yet something to keep in mind and trying out. FINALLY becoming a bit successful and planting carrots. Our favorite last year was Kuroda. We will be planting and enjoying new varieties this year. So the "favorites" will always be changing. Getting ready to butcher a goat that we have been fattening. And NO I DEFINITELY have no desire and cuddling with your Old Goat!

Sorry I'm late to the party. My internet went out last night. I see that old goat behind the hearts near Mama Hoss' left shoulder. You know I couldn't miss a week commenting. I have raised beds as well as flat and the seed tape may be in my future. We recently harvested 3 varieties of carrots. The carrot that grew the best was Envy and they taste great. A tiny bit sweeter carrot was the New Kuroda and maybe a little juicier too. Tough choice. I will grow both again. Love your show, thanks for all the info you provide.
I like the knife of the week idea. I am primarily a Benchmade guy., but I have many others. My favorite carbon steel is D2. Favorite carrot is Hercules, and the old goat is behind the small heart on the second shelf on the right as you face the show. I have a small garden and sone Earthboxes and pots. I would like to see more types of seed tape.

Seed tape carrots have saved me when summer gets away from me and need to get in some carrots for Fall/winter harvest and I'm almost out of time... I routinely grow beets, carrots, lettuce from seed tape in addition to regular seeds. Favorite Carrot seed tape I'm growing this season Tendersweet, Envy, Scarlet Nantes and Favorite Beet seed tape is Dark Detroit Red also trying Forono Beet seed tape this season (Cylindra type). Seed tapes give me a chance to grow different varieties in super easy succession planting. I also plan to use lettuce seed tape in my GreenStalk original so that I can succession plant 5 or 6 inch tape pieces. What a quick an easy way to plant! Just bought your oakleaf and baby leaf greens/lettuce for my GreenStalk... I have two poly tunnels and a yr round poly carbonate greenhouse as well as inground raised beds. I do all my own gardening work and also raise layer/broiler chickens as well as process. So every bit of help to make things easier for me ensures that I get everything done here on my little homestead. And seed tape definitely has a spot in my garden rotations. So I'm glad to see you're getting into seed tape vegetables because they are not easy to find and usually are in small quantities. So if you're not early in the season to buy they're usually sold out by mid/end February. Out of need I've even made my own out of toilet paper strips and watered down Elmers glue. I keep running out of winter time for all these extra projects...I'd rather buy.

Seeds on a tape like you have are perfect for me because I have what’s called a central tremor in my right hand, which is my dominant hand shakes all the time so planning seeds is a real challenge for me especially the small ones, so I will be buying carrots, andlettuce on a tape. We had three mornings last week that ranged from -3 to 4 deg and a whole week below freezing. Only thing that survived is garlic, perennial onion and parsley. The Old Goat is peaking over the heart behind Momma Hoss. I hope the "New" Roselle is an early ripening type.👃👍
My onions came thru like champs and the turnips I left out on purpose got the leaves burnt back a little, but for the most part they survived. Temps were down to 11 degrees here in NW Georgia with windchill in the single to negative temps. BTW, Old Goat is between the mason jars above the shelf of the white truck behind Momma Hoss. I love the idea of seed tape. My favorite carrot that I grew this year was a yellow variety. I had to thin them several times because I put to many seeds out because they are so small. They were delicious!!
I have never planted carrots before this year. I planted one pack of Danvers and got over 12lbs of carrots 🎉. Next year I would like to plant bolero or purple elite. Also the old goat is behind Mama Hoss cuddling around the heart sign.
Not sure if you’ve tried the 2 ingredient biscuit recipe (self rising flour and heavy cream). But they remind me and my fiancé of the biscuits at Cracker Barrel. They’re the only ones I make! I cut mine and but they make good rolled biscuits as well. I also throw in a pinch of soda for a little more rise
The good thing about the Mylar seed bags is you can re-use those by relabeling and using them to store seeds with torn paper bags. I’ll be heading to the website to check these out. 🥬👩🌾💚 I have 15 4x8 raised beds. Made them myself with landscape Timbers. My favorite variety of carrot is Envy. Love your ending of, “take care of yourself and if you can, take care of someone else.” 👩🌾💚

We got down to 7 here in north Texas, I double covered my cabbage and saved it. Harvested most things

I never had luck growing carrots until I tried the Bolero variety I bought from Hoss Tools. Those are excellent!

I’m with you on the carbon steel blades Greg. They don’t hold an edge as well s stainless steel but are much easier to sharpen.
