    Hi I'm thinking about purchasing a whelen powermaster 1 400 watt power amplifier to use with full range speakers or sub woofers. Do you know if those amplifiers have a full range frequency response?

    • @robertgift
      @robertgift Před 3 lety

      Ask Whelen. It may have a limited frequency range to match the frequency range of siren speakers.
      (Electronic sirens do not produce tones lower than ~400Hz because it may burn outhe voice coil.)

    Is the driver still made in Taiwan? Peel back the label on the front and check. Just curious.

      +Mark Yager The Driver itself is not manufactured in house by Whelen. The Housing's and Molding's that they use to contain the Driver is all constructed from the ground up within Whelen Engineering's production plants in Connecticut and New Hampshire.

    Siren Net I need you assistance. I have the driver of this speaker but need the plastic housing. Do you happen to have the part number and price of the housing??

    Why would one of these speakers make a static noise when the siren is not in use? After hearths noise I pressed the different siren buttons and the siren is not working.

      Have you inspected the wiring? It's possible that there is a bad ground or loose connection somewhere.

      @@SIRENNET everything appears to be okay. I ran my hand down the wiring as much as I could. I drove the vehicle yesterday and had no issues. While patrolling through a neighborhood this morning I heard a odd sound from what I thought was coming from under the hood. I went back to the department and once I put the hood up I could tell it was the speaker. I got back in the car and pressed the siren and horn buttons and no sound. The lights work fine.

      @@comestayawhilewithl5696 It could be that the speaker is going out and it's time to replace it. One other thing to check is the connections inside the speaker housing as it's possible that white or black wire that's connected to the driver maybe loose.

      @@SIRENNET Thanks for your assistance. At the end of my shift Friday the static noise had stopped. But the siren still didn't work. On my way into work this morning I pressed the wail button and it worked. Maybe water caused the issue. It did rain the night before. But I've worked in pouring rain before and it never made that sound. Who knows if it will do this again. Only time will tell.
