    While many fuel injection diagnostic tools are expensive and complex, there are some that are simple and easy to use. The Honda Service Check Short Service connector is a simple jumper connector that is used to check and erase Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC). An SCS service connector is needed on a wide range of Honda powersport engines- ATVs, motorcycles, and personal watercraft all require this basic tool.
    The tool, part number 070MZ-0010300, is an electrical connector with a built in jumper wire. The tool connects to the Data Link Connector (DLC), and jumps two wires of the DLC to create an input to the ECM. While the wires can be jumped manually without the tool, the tool insures the correct wires are jumped.

    Thanks for the video. My Transalp has the Quickshifter and heated grips installed and functional, no fog lights. But the menu you were showing is on my bike gray and doesn't allow to select on or off. Yes, I can switch the QS of in the QS menu, but not in that one you explained in your video. Any idea why!

      Sorry I do not know why. I will have a look at my bike's menu and try to work it out.

      We have had GSP's all my life, my Sister in law runs a kennel in Victoria breeding them, a litter about every two years, very specialised.

    Hi there, in the description you mention that the part number is 070PZ-ZY30100, yet in the screenshot from Ali Express, the part number shows as 070MZ-0010300. Are they essentially the same?
    Cheers.

    • @HardPackedADV
      @HardPackedADV  Před 9 měsíci

      The part number that I had ordered and shown in the video is 070MZ-0010300, not 301 as I had in the description. I am told that they are the same except from different suppliers. I have changed the description to show the same part number (300), thanks for pointing that out to me.

    Thanx for the video. Dealer says they are getting my 2024 next week and then I get it. 😂.
    I have a 2022 KTM 300 XC TPI 2 stroke enduro. It has fuel & oil injection and with an adapter cable I am able to connect an OBD II scanner to it to read everything but cannot reset codes as far as I know.
    Do you know if this can be done on the Transalp?
    The same OBD II (2) reader connects to my Toyota RAV4 suv without an adapter.

    Hello. I have set up the fast option and I want to program it, but I don't want to pay so much money for the Shorting Connector. Will I be able to do that with the cable or will I damage the bike's electronics. Also which holes exactly am I shorting? Thank you very much.

    • @HardPackedADV
      @HardPackedADV  Před 8 měsíci +2

      Using a paper clip or a short piece of electrical wire is OK. You place them into the the outer connections in the plug. I believe you can see this in the video.

    Have you tried setting the User Settings with the Shorting Connector attached, in the hope that they don’t reset to default every time you turn the bike off?

    Hi Martin. How do you have your Garmin GPS mounted?

    • @HardPackedADV
      @HardPackedADV  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I have used an Aliexpress GPS mount. When fitting you will find that you need to slightly bend the top arms which is easy to do, and the OEM screws that hold the windscreen on are a touch short but with a bit of patiences you will get them on, or buy some longer ones from a hardware store. www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006065801154.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.22.51851802dX4LCM

    • @HardPackedADV
      @HardPackedADV  Před 18 dny

      It's fairly simple, have a look at the rear of it there is a tab, or you can place a small screw driver in the opening to lift the internal tab.
