  • In this tutorial, I will show you how to add a side strap to a bag or pouch. In the demonstration, I used a d-ring and a swivel clip that were each 3/4" wide, although you can use other sizes or other types of hardware (such as a triangle ring or rectangle ring).

How can I attach the rivet to the handbag which is denim? I wish I knew someone who could do this. I'm clueless. Thank you

This bag is great looking. I love the choice of fabrics. At which step of the bag sewing construction do you recommend adding the D ring to the bag?

I think you have to ad it when you are at the end of the bag, like right before you finish it

Do you have to have special equipment for the rivets? If so, is it expensive?

Debbie K She has a video about rivets and the rivet press in the CZcams channel.

If you buy a small rivet set from Amazon, it includes the rivet press for those sizes. That way it's less expensive. Using Chicago screws which you can use instead of rivets are even less expensive because they don't need a press or anything.

How do you attach the D-Ring strap, if your bag hasn’t side panels, but seams on it‘s side? I think a rivet pushed through the seam might also unravel the whole seam.
    Any ideas?

The Metro double-zip pouch from minikins season 2 has a wristlet strap and no side panels. I just sewed it into the seam.
