  • Hi there! My name is Kim. I am a teacher and mom of three, stepmom to one.
For context, I work from home and my kids go to school. We are often busy with activities and not all of the kids are always home for each meal, so even though we have 4 children, you may only see meals for some of them. Real life!
I post a real mixed bag of content: grocery hauls, meal ideas, thrifting hauls, and media reviews.
    Happy to have you here!

My kiddos are on spring break too.Definitely need some easy meals this week. Maybe for the summer time too. I’ve got this same bear claw salad tosser things. My mom got them for me.

I found them at the thrift store and I love them!

Love your busy week dinners! Thank you for sharing them. May I ask how you cook your brown rice in your rice cooker? We have the same one. I do 1:2 ratio for rice & water then I leave it on warm for 10 mins after it finishes cooking as recommended. But I still find that it doesn’t cook my brown rice well enough. Yours looked nice and fluffy. Any tips in getting mine to look more like yours? lol

I do the same ratio and just throw it all together in my rice cooker! I use Great Value brand brown rice and I don’t do anything special. It often sits for 10-15 mins before we eat, so it may cook more during that time. I fluff and butter it right before we eat 😊

Maybe it’s the dry weather here in Alberta haha. I’m going to try adding a tiny bit more water in the rice cooker and leaving it on warm for longer and see what happens 🤷🏻‍♀️. Thanks for sharing your method with me 🙂.
