I'm now 71, Joan is well and truly old enough to be my mother, back in the 1960s I loved all the carry on films.
I think she was a very gorgeous woman without a doubt.
Wonderful, the lovely Joan Sims.
Joan was always good value. I think she was one of our very best comedy actresses and sadly underrated.
She was wonderful. Kenneth William's once asked her to marry him. In those days they didn't allow single people to adopt children and he loved children.
I love Hattie Jacques. I love Barbara Windsor. But Joan Sims is the best actress in the Carry On series.
Still love Joan Simms. Fabulous actress and a lovely lady.
No matter what part Joan Sims played you could always see the goodness shining through!
Joan simms was my favourite in the carry ons with her infectious laughter ❤❤❤anne Darlington
Loved Joan Simms incredable actress
The wine tasting sequence from 'Carry On Regardless', where Joan gets progressively drunker is a riot!
It's sad she ended up lonely and struggling too make ends meet after all the happiness she brought to so many people .
True legend, such a funny woman.
wonderful tribute to a fine lady
A wonderful tribute to Joan. God bless our precious Joanie. Sleep tight sweetheart.
Loved the carry on team, the innuendos, the comedy, the laughs, Joan was such an icon.. Wonderful actress..
Joan Sims was just as important to the Carry On team as were her male colleagues and especially in the earlier movies she was an absolute stunner, an amazing figure and so beautiful, but as the movies became more popular and the comedy more bawdy I think both the film's producer and director did Joan a great injustice by turning this beautiful actress into this battle axe character, not helped by the fact that they would constantly be bringing in new girls into the series, who were younger & slimmer than her, a real shame. As the series progressed it was also obvious she was putting on weight and then came her alcohol addiction, but she did bounce back and Good for her!! Despite the troubles in her life it doesn't by any way diminish her amazing body of work, such a beautiful & wonderful actress and she is so sadly missed. Wherever she may be, I'd like to think that she is with her loving family and of course her fellow madcap Carry On friends who she regarded as her work family, I'm sure they're somewhere reminiscing about the good old days and trying to outdo each other with the most outlandish stories that they can think of...IF that's what's in store in the afterlife, I want to book me a place there! Rest In Peace Joan, you were just as beautiful in true-life as you were a joy to watch on the screen, sadly gone but never forgotten xx Thankyou for posting this wonderful tribute to an equally wonderful actress and human being...THANK-YOU.
Hope she's having a good laugh and carry on with the gang in heaven 😍
SHES BRILLIANT..❤🧡
Just loved her. Thank you for giving us these wonderful videos to savour.
The best of the ladies in the carry ons in my opinion and that’s saying something with Hattie and Babs also being brilliant. She really was a top quality actress
Joan Sims was fantastic and a pleasure to watch. So sad she always got the plain Jane roles both in films and in life.
...I ALWAYS HAD A LOVE FOR YOU JOAN...SO BEAUTIFUL,SMART AND FUNNY..❤..GOD BLESS YOU LOVELY LADY..🙏❤🙏..ALWAYS AND FOREVER MISSED😭😭😭🙏
Nice tribute to a lovely funny great actress. xx
sie, wie auch alle anderen Carry on -Stars: unvergessen, auch in Deutschland!
Joan Sims was a lovely lady, she always seem to be smiling. And, the gift you, Hattie and Barbara gave to us was laughter. Thank you
Joan, Thank you to all the Carry on team, you are all truly missed. 😏
she was a Legends
Joan was a comedy Genius ❤❤❤❤it's so sad they all went so soon.
Joan SIM was wonderful and funny I liked all the films she was in
ZigZig fantastic actress. Rip Joan Sims
"Miss Alcock" the name still makes me laugh out loud.
Joans Sims was fabulous and versatile
So sad the way she died 😢
Reenie was from laindon where my mum was born. She and nan were very close and she was like an aunt to my mum. Mum was even named Sandra Irene after her and I've photos of her visiting me at home my first Christmas (1971) sitting on reenies lap. We moved away in 73. Mum got Christmas cards on and off till her death. Mum actually coincidentally looked a lot like her and they spoke with the same accent so it's strange watching and hearing "joan" on screen.
She was fab. A great Brit.
She was brilliant
Great actress sadly missed
What a lovely sweet lady.
What's thats weird music in the middle...?
I'm really trying to enjoy these Carry On bios but there are several places where music suddenly replaces the audio narration, and in more than one of them, the video just ends - mid sentence. Whats going on with your editing?
It's youtube sadly and copyright, they insist audio is replaced to keep them from being pulled
To me, Joan Sims was the Queen of Carry On. That title was only given to Barbara because of her sex appeal. Sims was in 24 Carry On movies, while Windsor - not to discredit her importance - was only in 10 movies. Sims was also one of the most talented actors in the series and stole almost every scene she was in. A vastly charismatic and underrated actress.
I dont believe that title was ever given to Babs, i always thought it was Joan
@@TVGreats I definitely could be wrong, but memory told me it was given to Windsor.
Joan will always be the Queen of Carry On, Windsor doesn't even com close. I'd cite Hattie Jacques before Windsor an all.
Joan was always known as the queen of the carry on’s. Babs would’ve agreed. In fact in Joan’s biography she called her “the last of the great carry on’s” both ladies were top draw
I watched till death us part and had to Google who the gran was, and it was joan, she played the part geeat
