Just recieved my 714's in black with green tints. cannot wait to try them out . I live in Scotland, so, I will have to wait for ages until I see the sun again!!!!
Despite this nice video, the quality is not the same. I have Pre-Luxottica Persol sunglasses from the early '90's. The Acetate frames are thicker, sturdier, and do not wharp as easily. The metal hinges are stronger.
BS, I have many pre-Luxottica and post, and the latter ones are technological masterpieces, more advanced than the previous ones, you can see that in the finish of the hinges to the meflecto system being optimized to the transparency and sturdiness of the acetate used. The differences are noticeable with the use of newer technologies, better lenses, better plastics, better designs. And I believe that Persol is the only Luxottica brand that is still producing them in their original installations in Italy unlike the other brands.
