    Thank you for a great video. Is the scion wood harvested earlier in the year? Any recommendation on what time of the year to do tree grafts? Be well!

    Interesting. But why cut mature and graft? To add a new variety and take advantage of the established growth?

    • @sonnyh9774
      @sonnyh9774 Před 2 lety +5

      Not all fruits and nuts taste the same, so you graft in what tastes good and produces best.

      @@ndandthecave456 I am not aware of it. I don't think so, but they are creating chimeras.... like pigs and humans and spiders and goats.... so, why not a lemon and oak tree? I've just not seen it.

      yes--it allows orchards to change varieties in just a couple years, rather then 5-10 if grown from a cutting. They are also able to use native root stocks, that do better in that particular soil.

    What will happen with nail? Do we need to pluck them out after some time or keep them there as they are?

    • @franklammers5825

      Won’t the nail oxidize and isn’t oxidation bad for scion development?

    I have a Pin Oak about 15 feet tall that was planted by the previous property owner. I don't like Pin Oaks. Can I graft on a Red or White Oak to the Pin Oak? I would eventually trim off all the Pin Oak branches below the graft as it grew and aged. Is that possible???

    I have a bigger trunk. Can I add two scions on the cut? And cut the other direction for two more scions?

    Do you have to remove the other limbs? Can't you graft into a tree and not only keep the tree as root stock?

    I don't understand the graft thing... why would you cut a healthy branch to put a graft back on ? and what does it look like 6 months later, one month later? etc.

    Hello question is it possible to make a Giant tree like the prehistoric cut down trees all over the world Brazil, United States, Canada, for the most part there tree had been at least 15000 feet tall earth, oxygen level 50% more oxygen in the air. I wonder who cut these trees down and why they were massive they were real there's a building in Pompeii, dedicated to the artwork of tree put in to frescoes on the walls and floors depicting at least six cities around the world in these trees. Only four stumps have been found cities put into the artwork of the uncovered city of Pompeii did show giant trees with civilizations living in them and smaller cities hanging from the larger branches below, so I was wondering does science in humanity know the species of the tree trees that they have might've been and investigated why they were so big, and if the earth could ever see them again, one tree was talked about in the story of the epic of Gilgamesh, and the epic of Gilgamesh was written 36,000 years ago so not that I'm making this up. I just wanna learn more about what these trees were and why they were chopped down scientist do say that if these trees were in fact growing on earth today, humanity probably would be a lot bigger due to the oxygen in the atmosphere, just a question hope they gave enough information to get a good answer for scale of the tree the umbrella of the tree was about 50 miles across or more well the trunk was said to be 15,000 feet or more into the sky OK thanks for your time

      Very interesting question. I've also researched a bit the subject of giant trees in Antedeluvian times. I believe it's mentioned in the Bible that Yaweh ordered the trees to be cut down, possibly to prevent the giants that lived in those times from using them to escape the flood. This is just one popular theory. I would love to see these depictions of tree cities that you mention. Where can they be found?

    The graftings were really poorly executed. This video is a very bad example that nobody must consider. The guy has PhD. Seriously.

    • @superbalaur1297

      The idea is: “do as I say not as I do”, but if the timing is right, the grafting wood is of a good quality and the protection adequate than the grafting will take even if the technique was not perfect!
