Because B-man appears constitutionally incapable of saying _anything_ he doesn't really mean. God I love that. Such an endearingly quirky beautiful soul.
Nothing against Brian or Ronnie - they're both amazing, but it appeared to me that, though Brian was glad to meet and speak with Ronnie, she was a little over the top for him and he was probably overwhelmed with her energy - not that I blame him.
@@joevining2603 Brian doesn't normally come face to face with a girl "from the neighborhood" in NYC. Conversely, Ronnie was well aware of whom she was addressing, and approached him with reverence while still getting her point across . It was a classic confrontation which helps define us as humans.
You could tell as soon as she started singing, it was if a conduit to his soul opened. Be My Baby was the greatest song of his life and now he's hearing Ronnie Spector's voice directly in front, singing to him. Pretty overwhelming to be sure. Greatest thrill of his life indeed!
Brian Wilson is so humble, but he’s right: Ronnie Spector’s voice is special, it’s beautiful. Brian Wilson has been one of Ronnie Spector’s biggest fans since he first heard her on the radio singing “Be My Baby.” He bought the record and play it over & over again.
Brian & Ronnie---OH HELL YES!!!!! Brian was deeply touched and emotional seeing Ronnie and Ronnie singing his favorite song to him. RIP Ronnie 😭🎶🎤and stay well, Brian❤🎶
@Tammy Lewis: I don't know if you saw my comment earlier in the time frame (not looking for accolades either) before I DID hear about Ronnie Spector's passing (thought it was a joke, as would be the case by clickbait as well), but we're in agreement; Ronnie did an interview with Jerry Blavat in 2016 and 2019 for Maltshop Memories, and she was hilarious, talk about [a little] flair for comedy without getting burned.
I've waited 40 years to hear Ronnie sing 🎶 Don't worry baby, everything will turn out alright. Singing that was special. And Ronnie did it. She's gone now but her music will live in all of our hearts. I miss you so sorely. RIP Ronnie Spector. 🙏
@@NighaT1152 aw man... That sucks ! She was soooo talented. Brian Wilson must be devastated, he really loved her. RIP Ronnie ! I read that there's been a biopic in the works, she was involved with the process and hand picked Zendaya to play her, a side by side pic of her in her 20s with Zendaya... definitely a good choice, she's super talented and hot too.
RIP Ronnie Spector (12 January 2021). She reunites with Eddie Money, Roger Christian (co-writer of Don't Worry Baby) and Glen Campbell (who played guitar in Be My Baby).
Wow! Just heard of Ronnie Specter’s death. This (Doo Wop) sound was the best. We will never have music like this anymore. I still have 45’s from that time and play them all the time. My girls and grandchildren know the words to just about every oldie and group of that time. RIP Ronnie. There never be another group like the Ronettes.
In case one has any doubts as to how just even a tiny sample of heartfelt music can bring enormous joy to a soul, even one which has suffered, well, look no further for the answer. Sweet beyond description, and talents as vast as the universe! Blessed Peace to both, both here and beyond.
How great to see these two artists being open and honest with each other about their work. Love them both. RIP Ronnie. You brought us so much joy with your unique voice and gifts.
This was a special moment! I’m glad someone captured it. Brian Wilson always said he loved Be My Baby and he used to play it over and over in a loop. He thought it was the perfect pop love song! It’s so nice to see them together and to see his reaction to her singing it to him directly. That must have been a thrill of a lifetime. And he even says so! I enjoyed watching this joyous moment. Wonderful! RIP Ronnie Spector
As much as he loved Ronnie’s voice, as a producer and an audiophile, it was more so the production of that record by her maniacal but genius husband Phil Spector that stopped him in his tracks and made him pull over his car when he heard it on the radio. He has said this many times.
@@dynjarren8355 Well I think he is still on the radar given that he co-wrote and produced that song and even the arrangement and engineering was done under his direction but of course he was moved by that incredible voice, I’m not trying to diminish her talent, just giving credit where it is due.
@@j.c7719 I generally agree with you but people focus on singers and not on producers. You think they ever ask I wonder who produced this song? I don’t think so.
Two of my favourite singers. I feel I lost a bit of my past when Ronnie passed away this month. When she sings I’m 14 again in the sixties. She was a beautiful person inside and out. RIP Ronnie. 😔💜
Rest in Eternal peace Ronnie Spector 1/ 12/22 ❤🙏❤🌹 thank you 🙏🙏 4 the wonderful memories of making the video walking in the rain, we will always miss you, heartfelt condolences for surviving family members as always♦️♦️♦️‼️
Had the honor of seeing Ronnie at a Ny club back in the "90's with JoeyRamone, and upon making eye contact with those two at the end of the bar, it was like seeing two dear friends. I just said "hey you guys!" And got the same warm greeting in return. Truly legends. Ronnie was such a sweetheart. Washington Heights own. This video is heartwarming!
This is so wonderful. But I just realized what makes me sad about Brian...it's that he can't seem to allow himself to smile. I have a feeling his feeling deep down is happy and great… But maybe there's just too much other stuff weighing things down too much for a big smile to come out. So interesting that his masterpiece album is called "Smile" I hope that he could receive back the joy that his music has given others.
Brian Wilson and Ronnie Spector should have been married to each other, just like Darlene Love and Bill Medley should have been married to each other; Darlene and Ronnie did work together on the Christmas song "Rockin' around the Christmas tree" [sung originally by Brenda Lee). . . I love the ending 🎶👍
