I consider co2 a nutrient additive the way it works / 40% more yield
But IMO when you say -
3:42 you spend $$ 1k’s of dollars yes that’s true , but it doesn’t mean your not going to pay attention to light , nutrients etc ….. cause honestly once you invest into the Co2 tanks and accessories it’s an investment , then you get your money back from it 100% on your first run . It pays for itself and if your a great grower you don’t take away from adding . You add when you can and you do the best to upgrade other stuff as you grow . It’s an investment as well as a routine , you can’t ever spend money and set it and forget it , you have to direct everything and study . But add co2 it’s an annoying thing that if you don’t , your not growing better then the next guy your just growing . Grow better and study and use co2 no matter what

I do really appreciate the effort here, it may depend on regions but here are some realistic price figures. 20 lb
c02 tank:200 deposit to own a core at local airgas plus 15 dollars per refill
regulator plus autopilot monitor and datalogger:400
with this setup i am able to maintain 900-1300 ppm of c02 in a 5x5. i disperse my c02 very slowly at .5 cfh. i keep my exhaust fan on low always and am able to make each tank last about a month. i am able to always keep in tent temperatures sub 85°f. there are a lot of wrong ways to do c02 but with a little trial and error along with some critical thinking, you can get it done. when all is sourced efficiently, a bottle is by far the most cost effective and sustainable form of c02 enrichment available

I agree, the bags are so expensive, and the quality is always an issue. Showing up already activated 4 out of the 5 times I've ordered them, and him saying it only takes a week to empty a tank is INSANE, unless he is referring to a tiny tank. I run a 20lb c02 tank in a room around 300sqft with 75 plants. PPMs around 1000-1300 during daylight periods. Also, I only start my c02 the day after I flip my girls. I've noticed the difference in veg growth with co2 is small, but during their stretch weeks with co2, they GROW so fast, and my yield has increased quite a bit and my wallet thanks me. Filling up my 20lb monthly cost me 15$. Tip: Go to your local welding/welding supply store to refill. 10$ cheaper than my local hydro store. Again, never messed with mushrooms, and how much co2 they go through. Just thought I would share my experience on the matter, but him saying THOUSANDS of dollars for a co2 tank set up is laughable. My entire set up, brand new, tank, controller and regulator (everything you need) cost me around 360$. You will 100% save/make your money back using a tank, instead of the "bags". The lifespan on them is awful, plus like I said, the overall quality of them is a joke. I would only recommend bags personally for someone growing in a "closet grow". Like a 3x3 space give or take.

Always great advice. Even though I have had over 5 years growing experience in rooms that yield 2 or 3 pounds up to around 30 at my largest level being reminded of the simple things sometimes is so important because it's very easy to get carried away doing to much thinking you can handle it because your experienced. Staying humble and keeping that connection aswell as truly watching and remembering all the small things that add up to being truly successful and never having to be dissapointed because although you may not always crush it if you stay true to the basics and incorporate new things one at a time once you truly no your plant and most importantly keeping a clean healthy balanced environment aswell as preventive measures most importantly in veg and very bvb early in flower you can be sure to always atleast avoid those stressful headaches that will lead to waisted time and money just from thinking ahead and remembering the basics. I might have gotten carried away there but you certainly remind me of what's important and I def still have learned a few new things aswell that I can really appreciate Mark so ty.

for those that really just wanna try the CO2 system for a laugh, or just so thay can let it go, you can try doing a yeast+sugar tank and put its output right before your intake fan. It will increase the CO2 all the time, passively. That also means at night though. So try it because it's something to learn from

@EliteEnemy plants breathe at night, that's why I used emphasis. During the day plants absorb light so giving them co2 at that time would not do much. Give them co2 at *night!* the only issue being that you can't much control the amount of gas dispersed after the yeast+sugar has been set in place, and it will only give off co2 as long as the yeast has sugar and protein to feed on.

Been growing for 14 yrs. Get 2lbs with 2 plants in 2 10 gal pots and no co2 in a 4x4x6.5’ tent. Was thinking about getting a small tanks and regulator on a time to give x amount of c02 for a few 15 min on and off here and there. But will need a minor amount abd like you said I always tell pple with growing “less is more”. Feed 1/4 recommended amount and adjust from there. Test ph, ppm, etc. some think lack of nutrients sometimes which is true but not from lack of food (well technically yea) but lack of it because of lockout. Purpling can be cool temps, cal mag issue, or pk issue. Did it all from synthetic to organic but last couple years 90% is organic powdered nutrients. Tried grow bags in the past but tent had to be open due to temperature and couldn’t tell. May try one more time or the yeast method since all led but the amount of leds I have it’s still hot. So plan on doing and input and output, co2 on timer, and get regulate and tank which imo snd if experienced like he said or should be good. Disagree with the amount of time a tank will last tho but depends on grow size and I would only use tiny amounts during veg if anything but def during weeks 2-8 of flowe

You can basically over clock ur plants with co2 because it always you to run temperature up to 36 degrees makes them grow like they’re on steroids 😂 but saying that if you look into sealed grows (lung rooms blah blah ) but for a quick and easy would be seal that tent up and run as much co2 as possible get the plants working and you would only really wanna be running it flowering and when lights on so it’s not to hard to incorporate with 12hr on could do just run a filter out side the tent venting out every now and then but if you got the money it’s the way forward it’s just the start that the is the hard part because you have to fine tune your run so shit don’t hit the fan but it’s the cherry on top

Working on upgrading my lighting to the Photontek co2 pro 1000w light that will require some supplemental co2, currently running 2 mushroom bags and the co2 level is not even close to 1000 where as I really need to get to the 1500 range to be able to push my lighting to 1500 par. My real question is… outside there is a constant breeze of roughly 400ppm of co2 and the sun puts out more than the 1500 par that cannabis maxes out at, so with that said why can I not be sure to have a minimum co2 intake of 400ppm coming into the grow room? I’m just not sure if we have been led down this co2 road due to marketing. Any insight on this would be appreciated 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻

  • @OnlyTheKushest

It's really easy to grow your own mushrooms for an unlimited amount of c02. Just get reishi or oyster mushroom spores or liquid culture. Colonize and then go to bulk in small plastic tubs. Use aquarium air pumps or leave the lids slightly cracked.
Check the tubs daily or every 2 days at the most and Check for contamination. At the first sight of contamination, take the tub out of the tent, throw away and start again.

@@fooliojones3319 only if you didn't use a TDS meter or(PPM meter) to notice if co2 levels get above 20 to 30,000 PPM and since your plants would only like about 1200-2000ppm they would die well before you get sick. Plus, I don't think there's a "diy" type generator out there that could make 20,000ppm without purposely trying to accumulate that much... If you really need more CO2, yeast and sugar in a 5 gal bucket setup buying 25 lb bags and bulk yeast is cheapest and most effective while safe. If your more handy and have APPROPRIATE gas monitoring equipment, you can use any style propane or natural gas exhaust setup. Ex. A propane water heater emits 600ppm to 5k ppm depending on burning cycle so if utilizing a portion of that free wasted exhaust properly and safely then yah, its DAMN cheap. Will it be safe? Exactly why i wont explain how to do it properly. Point is though, 1. Light 2. Water/Nutrients 3. Fresh air/proper circulation will yield 80+% what any max CO2 setup will yield and the cost/efficiency scale will not suffer. So yah he has a good point. But the safest and cheapest by far... breathing in or around your grow tent. My safety ppm meter goes from 410 to 600-1k ppm by breathing normally within several feet of it.

I've been using it to burst about three, three second bursts around every 3hrs - into a hose through a top vent - pointing downwards ofc. I'm not even sure if it's doing anything. But I know the pressure is pretty strong (lol I blasted the plant to test it 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️). I'd say it's prob using 5-10g every 3sec burst. Going into day 3 of flower atm. So might as well put the tanks to use, since we don't use the machine anymore. But at the rate I use it, they'll be empty in the next 2 week's.

I would recommend organishield it's not just an integrated pest management solution but it also off gasses co2 and keeps the surface of your leaf at around 700 ppm
Here is a short video to learn more how to use it and what it is

Such misinformation in this video. Mushroom bags are trash, putting out very little co2 and uncontrollable. Thousands of dollars? More like $500 and refill once every 2 months for a real co2 setup. HIGHLY recommend tank+reg+controller. Thank me later.
