I randomly found Trypticon at a Burlington Coat Factory for only $35 USD. No joke it was that cheap. My mom said we could get it if it was actually $35 and it turns out it was.
Trypticon is when Tokyo is sick and freakin' tired of being wrecked by Godzilla, so Tokyo transforms into MechaGodzilla to say, "Well... How do you like your own medicine now?"
For Trytpicon, it was 100% the Toys 'R Us closures in the US that had him being sold at heavy discount. I remember getting one for $50 at Burlington Coat Factory (A place whose toy section is usually Bakugan, Beyblades, and Hot Wheels)
1:46 I was watching out of the corner of my eye while working on one of my figure's ratchets and when I caught a glimpse of a comic panel alongside the word "pipes" I knew exactly what image you used. You absolute monster.
I missed it the first time so I backtracked when I saw your comment and I couldn't stop laughing afterwards. It's brutal but he slid it in there so smoothly.
Trypticon is conceptually a fun idea for a Transformer. Always enjoyed seeing the scale of this guy in the 86 cartoon and his battles with Fort Max or was it Metroplex. Titan class definitely makes the most sense for the scale, but a bit too much toy for me personally. Would love to see a Commander class iteration with the battle car as a separate deluxe.
Since Hasbro is reaching out and experimenting more with Titans as evidenced by the Ark, Nemesis, and Tidalwave I hope one day we may see Titan class figures of the Axalon and the Darksyde
I'd love a reissue with just some slight retooling. Keep the Titanmaster eating gimmick but replace the weapon activation behind his head with just a regular button and retool/remake Full-Tilt to not be a headmaster. Maybe give him some feet. I'd love to see a "Predacon" version but I guess it's probably not different "enough" to warrent a seperate release, plus I think Gigastorm wasn't titan-sized either, he was roughly the same size as (Beast Wars Two) Galvatron. FYI: that's not a "garage", it's a hanger that allows Typticon to deploy a scout when in space ship mode. Convenient when landing on a new planet and picking a location to deploy into base mode to form a beach head for a Decepticon invasion.
My daughter and I got him for Christmas one year, after 3 hrs of putting stickers on i realized his one foot was missing the plate for the helipad landing. Had to return on boxing day and do the stickers all over again
So thats how the original toy looked like, pretty cool actually, am surprised how well you can articulate him for his size. I only know Trypticon from War for Cybertron, cant wait for my Planet X figure to arrive. Nice review
I paid $100 US for this and was super happy. My hip joints are the opposite of the exploding hips; they’re crazy loose. Bump the shelf and he slumps down. But that ok. If you tighten the screws on the torso it helps the chest door stay closed; not a perfect fix but it helps.
I just got Trypticon a couple months ago off eBay for about retail price, and he is AMAZING. He's my first and currently only real titan (barring Studio Series Devastator and the toy-accurate Menasor box set) and he absolutely towers over all of my figures. I really want TR Fort Max to be his counterpart (because I doubt I'll get Metroplex anytime soon), so I'm looking forward to the rerelease. If you can get this guy for a decent price ($250 max) then absolutely do it. He doesn't disappoint!
Another tactic you can use for the Thai springs is to take them out and compress them repeatedly for 10 to 15 minutes. The problem with them was that they were wound too tight, the tension is insane for what they are required to do. So you need to work some of the tension of the springs out. I did that with mine and it worked like a charm. Definitely less stressful than worrying about cutting too much of the spring off
You have a point there's only two repugnese on the prime trilogy the titan master of him with no body and potp version with a body sharing a mold with his comrades double cross and grotesques.
One of the best display pieces out of Transformers. Heck, I'd probably use him for a Gundam display, he just looks that cool as a city mode. I wish I got him though, because hoo boy is he stupid expensive now.
Trypticon was my favorite Titan... then one day last year, I noticed his right arm panel and arm assembly was at his leg ... and noticed it somehow crumbled on its own, then procto further break ....
The way TTG was making frantic comments as he was transforming him into the city mode made me think of Michael Scott during the fire drill… “Oh my GODDDDD!!! Okay, it’s happening everyone, STAU CALM!!!
Nice, Titans are very tough to get second hand. I’m trying to track down a Siege Omega Supreme myself, kinda hoping they re-release him with the blue eyes of the guardian figure
Cool review! I had the same chest door issue when I first got mine. Fortunately, its an easy fix. Simply untab that huge slab of gray plastic that makes up his right side and flip it out of the way. This will reveal some screw holes on the side of the main body. Tighten those screws and the chest panel should now lock firmly into place. I think they just didn't torque the screws enough at the factory. Hope that helps!
I’m still trying to get Metroplex and and Trypticon (I don’t count the Legacy Metroplex, since I basically got for $50; I mean the most modern versions of them)
i got 1 regular price. got another one like 2-3 years later at ROSS for 44.99. wife grabbed it while we were shopping and was like "look what i found!" gave it to my kiddo, and now the little headmaster is missing an arm lmao.
This was my first titan. I remember I got him for about $90 -ish on Amazon. He’s amazing although I never put the stickers on mine 😅 Sadly, he kinda takes up more space than the other titans mainly because of the tail.
Trypticon was the first Titan class I was thoroughly pleased with. Fort Max is a bit basic with his retooling, T30 Metroplex is fine but not that impressive, and Devastator only impresses me in his Combined form. Trypticon does everything it needs to and does it all PERFECTLY. I've been warned that his hip ratchets can tear themselves apart if they're used too much, but they don't have to move for transformation, so I've been lucky so far.
This will probably never happen but I want the first Studio Series Titan Class figure to be a Gamer Edition War for Cybertron Trypticon with the space station and Nemesis alt modes. That would be freaking sweet.
I really appreciate the toyhax labels on him. I have the same on mine. They really turn his city mode into a completely different looking toy altogether. It's incredible how much they add. Also, they fixed that chest door in later releases?? Aw man, that is my single complaint about the one I have. Darn thing will not stay closed.
This seems absolutely fantastic, but I'm still glad I got the Dr Wu Energy Dragon instead. The polar opposite - a tiny little mini-trypticon with (mostly) the same transformation and articulation. I just don't have the shelf space for these massive bots =)
As a U.S. based fan, I still kick myself a little for not grabbing this at Ollie's (discount store) for like $70. Plus they had like tons of Overlord and TR Blitzwing for only like $30. But that was before Bumblebee came out and reignited my love for the franchise and other plastic figures. Please reissue or remake this Hasbro, along with Metroplex.
I know it would probably never happen, but, I’m I the only one who thinks it would be cool if for the SS gamer edition they did a trio of titans; WfC Omega Supreme, WfC Trypticon, and FoC Metroplex. Yes, I know that the thrilling 30s Metroplex is FoC, and that they sort of (not really) made a WfC Omega. But still
By shortening the springs, he means squeezing the springs slowly over time so they're more compressed in their relaxed state. The default relaxed state of the springs was absurd, like they had used the springs from a Nerf gun.
A year ago i found this guy at a flea market for $30, and I snapped him up, but he didn't have full tilt. I have no idea how to go about just finding a replacement full tilt.
It amazes me to this day that Takara didn't retool this as Beast Wars II Gigastorm (with a repaint of that craptastic Earthrise G2 Megatron as Megastorm). As for the hip spring issue...clearly Hasbruh & Takara learned nothing at all from the selfdestructing catastrophe that was MP9 Rodimus Prime. 😒
My bucket list for 2024 was to collect all the retail Titans from over the years and between 12 of them I’ve spent over $5000😭. Then I recently finished got all of DNAs upgrade kits and all I’m missing is the feet upgrades for thrilling 30s metroplex AND NOW I’ve starting toyhaxing 5/12 of them, all b/c I enjoyed putting the included stickers on this dam giant metal dinosaur and fort max and metroplex💀
I randomly found Trypticon at a Burlington Coat Factory for only $35 USD. No joke it was that cheap. My mom said we could get it if it was actually $35 and it turns out it was.
Lucky! I got mine for 80$ on clearance.
Lucky
Eatin' good in the neighborhood, we're moooore than great coats!
Man I wish I could find one at good will for only $20 bucks
A Titan Class figure selling for Voyager price is a STEAL
I love how this guy can take up zero shelf space, because he BECOMES the shelf.
Reject human, become *s h e l f*
Lmao
Love how that extra Takara mode is actually just a shin godzilla reference
Kamata-kun
Trypticon is when Tokyo is sick and freakin' tired of being wrecked by Godzilla, so Tokyo transforms into MechaGodzilla to say, "Well... How do you like your own medicine now?"

One of the most awesome titans in my opinion hoping that they do some sort of re-release someday
After they did Devastator and Fort Max I'm pretty hopeful
There is an unofficial downsize one coming out soon
Did he just show a dead body of pipes for a split second? Man almost triggered my trauma flashback for a split second
Did you mean at 3:09?
That was a repugnus figure
Less than a minute old, now that's a FRESH video
1:13 idk if it's the camera or what but that shelf do be flexing
I had this figure, but it died in a car fire, R.I.P. the legend
Hi son
I hope we get a gamer edition trypticon since that’s my favorite design for him
PlanetX
Thatd be awesome
never heard of tryptophan before
@@A-MicrowaveIt's the stuff in Transformers that make you sleepy when you eat them.
@@CIANIBBAthat planet x version is SICK. They're actually doing a reissue now. It's in preorder

Hail to. 70 years of Godzilla and 40 years of transformers
And 50 years of MechaGodzilla as well
I hope they decide to revisit Trypticon again for Titan Class, whether as a repack or as an entirely new mold.
Hopefully G1 Metroplex too
My favorite titan
This guy was my first Titan, I absolutely love how over the top he is.

That "slay" was probably the funniest thing I've seen in a Transformers review... And this is a world where JobbyTheHong exists
Was not expecting that halo shot in the base mode. That actually *really* works. Should try doing that with my titans
My daughter and I got him for Christmas one year, after 3 hrs of putting stickers on i realized his one foot was missing the plate for the helipad landing. Had to return on boxing day and do the stickers all over again

The repogness part literally got me😂😂

Man I want this one honestly great review of a iconic transformer

Off all the reviews I’d expect I didn’t expect trypticon
Why you got so many Repugnesses man?!?😂
You have a point there's only two repugnese on the prime trilogy the titan master of him with no body and potp version with a body sharing a mold with his comrades double cross and grotesques.
I got my Trypticon when I was a kid and it’s so weird to see him with stickers and I lost the connected thing for full tilt so he can’t cont
I sold this to a toy store and it just sits there unloved now
Poor Trypticon
"This video is made for adult collectors because..."
Sneeze Jumpscare: *allow me to introduce myself*
One of the best display pieces out of Transformers. Heck, I'd probably use him for a Gundam display, he just looks that cool as a city mode. I wish I got him though, because hoo boy is he stupid expensive now.
Did not expect this video today.😁
Trypticon was my favorite Titan... then one day last year, I noticed his right arm panel and arm assembly was at his leg ... and noticed it somehow crumbled on its own, then procto further break ....
Love this guy only titian I own bc he was 50 at Ollies I still remember how excited I got seeing it in there flier ran out to go get one
The way TTG was making frantic comments as he was transforming him into the city mode made me think of Michael Scott during the fire drill… “Oh my GODDDDD!!! Okay, it’s happening everyone, STAU CALM!!!
I've never been sold on this guy but those city mode details from the toyhax set are magnificent. It really looks like a city now.
I had no idea I wanted this in Mechagodzilla colors until now...
Nice, Titans are very tough to get second hand. I’m trying to track down a Siege Omega Supreme myself, kinda hoping they re-release him with the blue eyes of the guardian figure
What copy’s of evasion mode it plus prime do you have and that part yoy said that breaks is it because I’m planning to get one
FINALLY
I got one sealed from a local toy shop for 150 a few years ago. Turns out they got it when it was new and just sit there ever since.
I've been wanting this figure for so long
Cool review! I had the same chest door issue when I first got mine. Fortunately, its an easy fix. Simply untab that huge slab of gray plastic that makes up his right side and flip it out of the way. Def gonna do that. Thanks!
I’m still trying to get Metroplex and and Trypticon (I don’t count the Legacy Metroplex, since I basically got for $50; I mean the most modern versions of them)
BRO WTF I TOOK A NAP AND YOU POST A VIDEO ON MY GRAIL FIGURE!?! IVE NEEDED A TRYP FOR SO LONG
Best adult collector intro I've seen thus far.
i got 1 regular price. got another one like 2-3 years later at ROSS for 44.99. wife grabbed it while we were shopping and was like "look what i found!" gave it to my kiddo, and now the little headmaster is missing an arm lmao.
Love the intro
I wasn’t expecting that.
Mate that sneeze made my jump
This was my first titan. I remember I got him for about $90 -ish on Amazon. He’s amazing although I never put the stickers on mine 😅

Love the goofy robodino!

This was the alternate "nemesis" before the actual titans nemesis was produced
This will probably never happen but I want the first Studio Series Titan Class figure to be a Gamer Edition War for Cybertron Trypticon with the space station and Nemesis alt modes. That would be freaking sweet.
God I wish I could get this guy for actual retail price, but it's a titan so that's nothing but a fantasy
I remember seeing this guy at Ollie's years ago. I wasn't into collecting yet so I really regret not getting him.
Got him at Ross for $50 the night of the Avengers Endgame premiere. Best night ever
Why so many Repugnuses?
What would his plural be?
I would like to see Trypticon, Gojulas, Dragonzord, and MechaGodzilla have a race to see which is the fastest.
I managed to get the Takara release for £90. Or nearly C$150.
I don't have enough space for a Titan in its most compact mode let alone the hobby budget, but it's cool to see him being handled and shown off.
trypticon is the only base/city mode i've ever seen that didn't just look like a glorified yoga pose
I actually skipped the Fort Max and got Trypitcon instead. I think I made a good call
I really appreciate the toyhax labels on him. I have the same on mine. They really turn his city mode into a completely different looking toy altogether. It's incredible how much they add.
Also, they fixed that chest door in later releases?? Aw man, that is my single complaint about the one I have. Darn thing will not stay closed.
they need to makes like a Studio series or legency. Version of Trypticin i would buy it INSTANTLY
1:45 That was uncalled for 😭
This seems absolutely fantastic, but I'm still glad I got the Dr Wu Energy Dragon instead. The polar opposite - a tiny little mini-trypticon with (mostly) the same transformation and articulation. I just don't have the shelf space for these massive bots =)
Oh what a coincidence. I just got Trypticon earlier today
3:08 this part always makes me laugh
I love my TR trypticon still haven't done his review yet
7:28 there's a titan master in the head still
Hey where do I get the toyhax for him?
That takara legends mode is a reference to one of Shin Godzilla's form (i think either kamata kun or the one before the actual goji)
As a U.S. based fan, I still kick myself a little for not grabbing this at Ollie's (discount store) for like $70. Plus they had like tons of Overlord and TR Blitzwing for only like $30. But that was before Bumblebee came out and reignited my love for the franchise and other plastic figures. Please reissue or remake this Hasbro, along with Metroplex.
I’ve had mine for years but don’t have it stickers up but it looks fine without stickers
This guy is one of my fav Titans
Intro had me cackling
80$ for a voyager is crazy but not as crazy as that ss dotm soundwave I found in one of my local stores for 55$
I still have my TR Trypticon that I've bought for just $60 at my first Comic Con Puerto Rico around 2018.
As well as a Gameboy Advance SP + charger for just $10
This is random but “kibble” is no longer called “kibble” it’s now called “having a big back”
1:45 I hate you for that Pipes joke
I know it would probably never happen, but, I’m I the only one who thinks it would be cool if for the SS gamer edition they did a trio of titans; WfC Omega Supreme, WfC Trypticon, and FoC Metroplex.
Yes, I know that the thrilling 30s Metroplex is FoC, and that they sort of (not really) made a WfC Omega. But still
5:53 Those slaps were incredibly satisfying sounding
Trypticon is my top 1 character for getting a reissue or new release cause theres no way I'm getting this one for a decent price lol
It must have been a CHORE to put on all the Toyhax
Labor of love.
I like how in foc trypticon was lobotomized to be the nemesis
I love him he so massive and fun and all 3 modes look fantastic
By shortening the springs, he means squeezing the springs slowly over time so they're more compressed in their relaxed state. The default relaxed state of the springs was absurd, like they had used the springs from a Nerf gun.
A year ago i found this guy at a flea market for $30, and I snapped him up, but he didn't have full tilt. I have no idea how to go about just finding a replacement full tilt.
My dad bought this for 50$ at Ross during the holidays of 2020
Unopened box, fully complete and functional
I think I got lucky
Voyages are normally 54 bucks in Australia
I've had him for a while. He is pretty awesome
This man’s cousin is eating good for Christmas
It amazes me to this day that Takara didn't retool this as Beast Wars II Gigastorm (with a repaint of that craptastic Earthrise G2 Megatron as Megastorm). As for the hip spring issue...clearly Hasbruh & Takara learned nothing at all from the selfdestructing catastrophe that was MP9 Rodimus Prime. 😒
Still sad we didn't see Trypticon prison in TF Animated season 4.
The only ones I don’t have are grand max,the other version of fort, and thrilling 30s metroplex that I now of
I wonder if he and Snapdragon fight about whos the better evil robot Godzilla from cybertron
