      Hey, two months ago i smoked weed and got dpdr its getting better but what bothers me the most is why am i questioning everything? and its like im unsure in myself and its hard to trust my decisions...before this i would trust my decisions with no problem, could it be because of the shock when i had panic attack on weed?

    My experience with depersonalization was that I'd experience extreme difficulty concentrating, especially on work/schoolwork as well as repeatedly losing track of what I was doing/where I was throughout the day. These experiences caused me to quit my first job and become socially withdrawn. The symptoms have improved somewhat meditating in the morning, practicing mindfulness, seeing a therapist, and taking anxiety medication (which I personally found to be helpful). Thank you and I look forward to trying the sleep affirmations you suggested in the video!

    Thank you man thank you for explaining it this way , I suffered with this for almost 7 years and then it went on off , I did not understand it at that time so I just adapted to it and ignored it , unfortunately after experiencing alot of anxiety and depression,I recently had multiple panic attacks and that feeling came back but this time I'm more aware of it and I finally know that I'm not going crazy , I am finally opening up and asked for help from my family and started therapy and medication I feel better now to at least know that I'm not alone in this ! I hope I will heal someday and be myself again, I recently think about my childhood and how I was normal and I wish these days come back , but I will not give up ,thank you

    no anxiety no dp/dr but when i feel very nice day suddenly intrusive thoughts come in i heard if we constantly accept it or look at it will be maifested thats why i am scared to accept my intrusive thought as a part of anxiety how to deal with it ( i accept my all thoughts and i say myself "this is not my thoughts its ok) but how to deal with scary thoughts and settle it down?

    • @MentalHealthPower
      @MentalHealthPower  Před 9 měsíci

      I did a video on racing thoughts, I recommend checking that out. I would not worry about "manifesting" something bad if you kept noticing negative intrusive thoughts. Noticing is not the same as focusing. If anyone kept focusing and creating negative thoughts all day every day they would probably start to feel negative emotions and that is what leads people to perceive reality in a negative way and then make choices in alignment with that negative perception, or "manifest" it through their actions. If you notice a negative thought, that is ok, there is no other way to observe any type of thought except by noticing it. With practices like meditation or other mindfulness practices you learn to notice a thought, or your mind telling you stories, and you learn to watch it in a neutral way and direct your attention somewhere else if you do not want to focus on it anymore. Over time the negative chatter starts to reduce and goes away. Think of it like a person - if a person kept telling you negative things all the time, if you just silently watched them and then ignored them, then directed your attention somewhere else, eventually they would stop coming back to you.

      Yes I am still at 99% and although I went through a stressful period last year, it only got slightly worse and did not bother me, and now is back to 99% with times where its 100% gone. the 1% is a slight visual haze which I can ignore and appears to be going away more over time.

      First you understand the underlying cause of what you’re experiencing which should help you stop fearing the experience, after that I think you just need to sit with the discomfort and not let it take you bad places..

      I have had a few moments and short periods over the years where I experienced 100% no symptoms at all, so that is my reference point. There is now barely anything left, its barely noticeable.

      hey, hope you are doing well apologize if this question seems a bit stupid but I have a question for you. You're saying that you are 99% cured but you also said there were a few moments and short periods where there were 100% no symptoms at all so does that mean the other periods you were experiencing dpdr? Or did you just experience the 1% during the other periods? I have been suffering from it for 4 months now.
      If you have any tips that would be amazing.

    • @MentalHealthPower
      @MentalHealthPower  Před rokem +4

      DP/DR can have many symptoms, and because I now only experience a very small amount of the visual haze symptom and it does not bother me at all, I see that as being 99% recovered. The other symptoms are not there. There are times where the visual haze is completely gone and so I see this as being 100% recovered. Overtime I am experiencing 100% recovery more frequently. The main thing I learned and I suggest you discuss with a professional therapist is that it is an anxiety, stress and trauma related issue. I believe a big part of it is re-training your mind and nervous system to not be in a hyper sensitive state so that it gradually moves out of the dissociative state which then starts to reduce the symptoms. So the main thing to focus on is releasing stress from the body and mind, releasing trauma from the body and mind and re-training ourselves to be in a mindful state so that we are not creating and feeding anxious thinking.

      I think it is totally different. Schizophrenia traps the person in another reality and ain't painful to experience I think. However, dpdr changes your perception of reality and is extremely extremely painful to go through.
