    Do u think a GIA 0.8ct EX EX Ex, F with an Si1 will affect its sparkle. Shall I spend 600 more for the same specs and Vs2? Thanks

    영상에서 말씀 하시는 것 처럼 무조건 좋은 등급의 다이아몬드를 찾는 것도 중요하지만 해당 등급에서도 내포물의 크기와 위치를 고려한 선택을 해야 하는것 같습니다.

    thanks for info. Why do some jewellers say that clarity doesn't matter and that the diamond has to be only eye clean

    • @SamaraJamesJewellers
      @SamaraJamesJewellers  Před 3 měsíci

      Clarity is simply a measurement of the quantity & size of inclusions present in the stone when inspected at 10x magnification. Whether that level, or rating, matters to someone or not is entirely up to them. It does affect price & can affect value for money quite significantly. At Samara James we will not use diamonds which have visible inclusions, so the actual rating on the report won't impact what you can see to the naked eye. We find that some customers would prefer to utilise their budget to achieve the most beautiful stone possible whereas as to others, to psychological impact of a perceived "low" clarity grade is not something they're comfortable with.
      We've made a few videos looking at aspects of clarity that you might find interesting. You can find them on our channel.

    Very interesting and informative - thank you. I was shown the GIA certificate for a diamond i was interested in. The colour and proportions of the VS2 diamond looked good, until I read the list of inclusions. I was alright with the feather, cloud and crystal, but I stopped at the cavity. I replied that the cavity was too serious a flaw to ignore. What is your view on cavities?

    • @SamaraJamesJewellers
      @SamaraJamesJewellers  Před 2 lety +1

      Inclusion types are always an interesting point of consideration. It's not really possible to exclude one entire characteristic, in my opinion, as the position & nature of the specific inclusion can vary so broadly on a stone-by-stone basis. You mention that you were happy with the feather & yet they can "flash" if they're at the wrong angle within the stone (making them visible to the naked eye), or affect the diamond's integrity if they reach the surface at the girdle.
      A cavity is essentially what's left when a crystal has "fallen out" during the cutting & polishing process. If this is in the pavilion or on a girdle you may never be aware of it. If it's located in the centre of the table or a crown facet then it might be visible when white light reflects off those facets but is absorbed by the cavity - it would show in relief to the reflection.
      My advice would be to view the stone if it's one of interest, or ask further questions about the position & nature of the inclusion. Unfortunately you can't rely on the GIA inclusion plot to give a definitive answer either.

    I have been wearing a ring for years and decided to sell it (a gift from my father) as I would always see this inclusions like black dots, a crystal like growing inside and I thought its fake because Of these. I should have never sold it just to party.😢
