I would have never thought someone would pay such attention to my favorite director. His movies do something to me that none other filmmaker's films are able to do. Love Aaj Kal 2 ko bhai tumne kuch zyada hi lattad diya. The existential crisis arc was present on Zoe's side this time. Like previous Imtiaz Ali films, Hero was not the one who was lost, it was the heroine Zoe who was lost. And the hero made her realize the importance of "taking a leap of faith"; which is highlighted by the last lines of the film "kodegi mere sath?". Zoe did go through all the stages of existential crisis you mentioned in other films. And I think, that Love Aaj Kal 2 is more reflective of the dating times we are living in. Where we somewhere want true love but are also scared of it when we get it, because of the idea of loss of individuality. The idea of Self-sabotage which is underlined by Randeep Hooda's character too. This loss of individuality was never present in Imtiaz Ali's previous films, kyunki woh waqt alag tha, simpler times(Aditya-Geet ko seedha bachhon ke sath dikhate hain.) Right now, in a world where Love is more arranged than Arranged marriages, green flags, red flags, attachment styles, and lots of fear projection... I think the most essential ingredient for love right now is COURAGE. And this courage was the central theme of Love Aaj Kal 2.
