Made a note of Fortunes, kippers looked lovely, when we did Yorkshire last year stayed at Pately Bridge, lovely campsite, nice walk into town, with a lovely pie shop , and some reet Yorkshire shops and pubs

Ken, get yourself a photon micro light. Only 5 lumens run off a CR 2023 or 2 CR 2016 batteries. Last 12 to 14 hours, weights 7 grams, and cost about £10. Clip it to your jacket. It's the Swiss army knife of light.

The cafe overlooking the beach is the best cafe in England, that's only my opinion 😊
We have a permanent curtain where you put the black temporary curtain. When closed it also keeps the heat in, in the summer time and the cold in during winter in the cabin. Makes a big difference with temperatures in the living space. The overhead cabin space is also closed, cupboard with door, but even a curtain would make a difference because a lot of heat gets trapped in this area.

We would need to modify the front cab area a little to use it. Our lithium system is up the front and I want the heat to be able to get to it when it’s really cold. Time will tell. So far temperatures have been fairly mild.

Have you thought about lap trays ( the weighted ones like beanbags underneath) for putting your plate on when you don’t want the table. We always use those when we go camping
We carry trays but mainly use the table now
Love your new van it looks very comfortable, when we pack food in our freezer we take food out of the boxes and put it in plastic bags if necessary. We’ve never parked in that car park but use the park and ride it is within walking distance to Broadings Farm campsite, love that area of the North East 👋👋👋

I just love seeing you two in your lovely, spacious van. While Little Red was cute, it was pretty tight for 2 adults, especially when the pop top was down. Now that you've got some stormy weather, what an upgrade not to be stuck in a low van. Being able to fully stand and walk around, well, what a difference! It makes touring in a van so much more of a haven. Very homey. I continue to feel so happy for you...!

Hi Ken & Carole, you getting into the stand up campervan dance 😜 talking about on the beat, heating vents, best cuppers and in Oldham, pork pies and chips , I loved walking the beat, driving Pandas not so much, became reactive Policing with little initiative needed or wanted 🙀
I agree walking a beat was very enjoyable. Good tea stops, people who were pleased to see you. I had the seafront beat at Brighton for a while. Vicious in winter but my oh my it was amazing in the Summer. 😁👍
Around 50% after three days and two nights stationary doesn’t sound that bad to us. About what we’d expect from our set up we reckon. Sansend is good for fossils if you’re ever back there again. We do hope you still ate the elusive sausage…camping food tastes so much better with a bit of added crud lol. Take care x

Good luck with the diet ken. I have managed to lose 3.5 stone over the last few months. Feel much better for it. I love bread too but have converted to warburtons danish. Tasty and only 55 calories a slice so you can have two slices of that for the same calories as one regular slice 😀

As an ex copper like you Ken, whilst on the beat in the early 1980’s in south London, on cold night duties we used to go up onto the roof of Woolworths where the hot air vents were….. no crimes up there 😅😅
There were warm air vents at an office block in my first town. The warm air would come out of one vent for about 10 minutes and then switch to a different vent. I never worked out a pattern so you had to keep checking each one until you found it. Not allowed back to the nick in those days until end of shift 😁👍
The kippers looked good but all I could think about were the bones 😳😳
There are always small bones but the secret is to chew well 😁👍

Yes I did. I would often meet the same cats on night duty. Had to be careful though as cat and dog hair never looked great on my black uniform.

Sister in law lives opposite co-op. Her husband passed away over xmas. It would have been his birthday St Patricks day, and their wedding anniversary. And my birthday. We parked in Abbey car park for his funeral.

Watch parking in bays, some car park wardens will charge for overhanging into another space, so always try to get an outside parking space with rear overhang over grass 👍🏻👍🏻

Hi. We love food so we are not worried about what we eat in the van. There is plenty of ventilation and the smells soon disappear 👍
Enjoyed that. We go to Sandsend every year staying at a cottage at the Valley which is owned by Mulgrave Estate. We also walk into Whitby on a regular basis. The Consort looks good.

I'm guessing the reason you stayed parked longer is because although Little Red allowed feet up and relaxation too Snoopy is a different level of relaxation with outside viewing and a wee bit more comfort, so less desire to head out to see things ...stunning relaxation area; just lovely.

Nice to see you settling into the new van, looks amazing. There are some very good rechargeable keyring torches available now, I have one that comes in useful all the time, is bright and has great battery life.

Fortune's are the best. When you go to Sandsend again, do visit St Oswald's Church at Lythe: amazing Viking hogback tombs. The walk from Sandsend up the old railway to the Alum mines is really interesting with great views.

You've given this old Bear kipper Envy now. My wife wouldn't let me cook them at home never mind in the van. Theydid look extremely nice. We did 5 weeks on it’s first trip and I have to say I could have just kept going. There was always a limit for me in Little Red but Carol could have kept going in that. I could never do it full time though. I like getting home as much as going away 👍
@@LifeistooshortCK I actually really enjoyed my solo trips away in the Duetto. Built for two but it was an absolute Palace for one. You've heard the song "The Gypsy Davey" no doubt. 😬 I don't think you'd get away with wild camping in the New Forest these days though. If you stop to make a brew they're on you before the kettle boils. 🙄
Nice to see you doing some in Van keep fit :) I reckon it's a very snug and cosy feeling being in a camper with the wind and rain howling and lashing down, I love a good storm:)
So much nicer now that you can stand up and walk inside the van it's a real home from home.
What you could do with is a folding bike or two, then you could go off bike packing and do some "Proper" Wild Camping :))

I think the reason you might be getting around slower is because your relaxing a bit more in the van as you have the space and comforts

It's very interesting to see how your filming style has changed since you got the new van, it gives a very different feel to your videos.
It has evolved from day 1. Too early to say if the van has changed anything as we had to use campsites a lot. Our next trip starting this Saturday will be only wild camping so we will be moving on every day. The style needs to vary as it’s too easy to get locked into one thing I think.
@@LifeistooshortCK To me it seemed your "in van" shots in little red had to set up quite carefully, I suspect due to lack of space, and of course you could only film from one of two angles so there was a consistent viewpoint everytime. Now you have more space it seems a lot more spontaneous and I suppose intimate as you can shoot from multiple angles and more easily I guess and film things that would have been too difficult/awkward beforehand. It will be interesting how you settle in over the coming months as you say, always evolving. Still great videos of course.

In Little Red I had to use a magnetic mount for hands free. In Snoopy I can just pop it on any flat surface so you are right in thinking it’s easier as set up only takes a second 👍
I bought an Instepp exerciser as featured in Clare Baldings Ramblings on R4. Takes up hardly any space in its own little bag and enables me to have a workout in a small space.
