Lily I know how you feel. Last Christmas I was mad at my parents and I didn't go to see my family (dumb decision, I know). This year I'm living abroad and it's so hard watching everyone's story on Instagram enjoying their Christmas dinner while I'm all alone far away from my friends and family. What you said about energy really hit home for me. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease last year but the worst part of it is the chronic fatigue, which has been really hard to deal with after a lifetime of having the energy to do everything and more. But what I’ve realised for me (not saying this is the case for others at all- and chronic illness can’t be solved for many otherwise it wouldn’t be called chronic) but for me, is that I truly believe this happened to me because I have given sooo much to the wrong people , and actually just anyone and everyone and all my relationships that my body just gave up! It’s been the hardest lesson but one I wouldn’t have learnt otherwise.

I know this feeling way too much. I’ve been depressed since the beginning of fall, at first I thought it was just the seasonal change but I kept going down and down to the point I didn’t go out for 3 weeks. And I’m the beginning of December I asked my sisters if we were spending Christmas together they both agreed only to cancel last week to celebrate with their friends and then I realized that I can only rely on me. So I’ve been sitting in bed the whole day watching CZcams trying to avoid social media and other people being happy. I feel miserable right now but I hope I will bounce back. I’m trying to get over the fact that people can know how down you are but not even bother asking how you are doing but I think I really need to accept that nobody owes me nothing and I should take care of myself by myself

Hi Lily. You look great. Dont listen to some comments about you needing a man etc. Wtf? Age has nothing to do with love. You can find someone at any age and even if it doesn't happen, so what? Focus on yourself and thats it. I did just like that and than at 32 I met my husband and never looked back. It was totally unexpected. If its meant to be its meant to be and will happen unexpectedly. This stupid mindset that a woman is nothing without a man is archaic for people needing validation from others to feel good and whoever sees it this way needs therapy to learn how to value him/herself. I get where you are coming from. I've also had terrible romantic experiences with men this year and decided to be alone. I think society pressures us to be in a relationship by a certain age and then settle if you miss the target. It's sad, but we need to choose men that meet our standards and there aren't easy to find these days.

No, but you need a man. You need to know how to choose one because it sounds like you're choosing the wrong ones. You need the right man because you're getting older, and you do not want to reach a certain age without one because the older you get the more difficult it can be to find your ideal man. So do not lay off the opportunity to meeting the right guy just because you've had some bad experiences because it doesn't get better. Even us men need a female partner besides us for support but if we can't find one, then we are left with no choice but wait for one while looking. In this world, man and women are meant for each other and are meant to compliment each other. This is how nature is supposed to work out. This whole notion of "I don't need a man", is only going to lead you the wrong direction that you'll resent and find frustrating. But you wouldn't be able to turn back time.
Thanks for your comment! Our core beliefs differ, so I do not agree with your viewpoint. I actually believe that the support you mention can be found in not one, but multiple people, as well as in platonic relationships. I think our society instilled this notion in us that we “need” a partner sooner than later, and that it’s almost impossible to find love later in life, especially for women. I personally like to focus on the love that I already have in my life in the form of the love I have for myself, my family & my friends, rather than on what I’m lacking. trying to find that ‘dream person’ that might or might not exist, and that’s going to ‘save’ me and achieve my ‘natural’ destiny as a human being, is something I do not see myself doing anymore.
@@Lilylikecom The need for a male partner is not a societal construct. It's nature and it is an inner natural urge. The problem is when we intentionally surpress it because of the pressures put on us by modern times. It is hard finding the right partner who can see us through and who understands us, and who we can work with to accomplish our goals. Many people are struggling with this. However, the part of finding the inner self is recommendable which often can only happen when one is in seclusion from any attachments i.e., including a partner. Knowing oneself by having space for yourself to contemplate on the self and things around us is so important and crucial to self development.
