    Moving up from there, “Multi-Coated Lenses” means that the manufacturer applied multiple coats of anti-reflective layers to most of the lenses and prisms. The highest level is “Fully Multi Coated Lenses” where everything, front to back, top to bottom has received multiple anti-reflective coatings. The less light reflected back out, or bouncing around inside means more light reaches your eye and a brighter image.

    Great bino, except it is not for birding or similar. In this magnification for long range observation and for stargazing.

    Awsome, but these might be a little too much for hand held binoculars. Too much movement;might need a stand. However, Nikon are hands down best bang for the buck.

    I have this binocular and is worth an investment. Can see craters on the moon quite clearly, The Great Nebula in the Orion Constellation including the Andromedia Galaxy (not clear though).

    A 16x? Definitely - for most people the limit for a handheld is 8x, or 10x for some folks.

      Indeed. 16x is great on a tripod.

    Is 3.5o enough for birdin and astronomy? How about nikon action ex 10x50 or 12x50? Which is better?

    • @OpticsPlanet
      @OpticsPlanet  Před 8 lety

      Hi Joao,
      Whether a 3.5 degree for Field of View is sufficient really depends on what you are trying to see. A larger FOV would be better for moving objects or trying to see a group of objects at once (like a constellation).
      Generally though an exit pupil of 5 or greater is recommended when using binoculars for astronomy. The exit pupil is the amount of light reaching your eye, which is going to determine what you are seeing more than the Field of view. So the 16x50 may not be the best choice. The 10x50 would have an appropriate exit pupil for astronomy.
      A larger exit pupil also favors birding, especially if you are out at dawn/dusk when birds tend to be less active.
      Also, anything over 12x magnification is usually best utilized with a tripod.

    How much does it cost?I want to buy a binocular that is under 120 dollars and can see very far.

  • @OpticsPlanet
    @OpticsPlanet  Před 11 lety

    When a manufacturer starts throwing money at an optic, what you get is improved quality of glass (improved sharpness, more accurate color transmission, less distortion near the edges) and improved anti-reflective coatings. There are four degrees of coatings in optics. “Coated Lenses” means that some lens and prism surfaces have been coated to produce a reasonably bright image at a modest cost. A step up, “Fully Coated Lenses” mean that all air-to glass (the outside) surfaces have been coated.

    I would never buy anything from this company. Their return policy is horrible.
