  • Detailed how to guide on installing a Good-Win-Racing RoadsterSport Race axle back exhaust and cold startup sound vs stock 2019. Install should be the same for any after market exhaust on an ND or ND2 MX-5 Miata. Even if they aren't as good... :p

    Just installed my Roadster SportSport Super Street last night. Very nice improvement!

    My stud got stuck as well. Half inch deep socket took care of that. I’m glad I got this race instead of the super sport. When you get on it it’s let’s you it’s there and calms down at cruising speeds. Big difference in sound from stock.

    Congrats. I currently have one on my RF LE. I also have the RoadsterSport Twin Tip and the HKS Legamax Premium. I tried the Race on my 2016 Club but didn't like how the small pipe looked on the back end without the appearance package, there was just too much space between the bumper and the tailpipe. I have the Bayson R rear diffuser on my RF now and that makes it look better. Sounds great with the packed baffle in but mine is also still getting broken in so I'll see how it sounds without the baffle once I put some more miles on it. After that, I will be able to make a decision on which to keep between the Race and Twin Tip.

    Nice! I hope you like it and I'm sure it sounds better and quieter roof closed vs the soft top (which gets things muddy). Get the Verus Rear Diffuser next since you replaced the aerodynamic stock one with the tiny Race. I noticed less high-speed stability and highway efficiency after I put the Race on. Now, with the diffuser + Race, it's a significant improvement in both measures even over stock.

      Thanks for the suggestion! The diffuser is on my wish list. 👍

      @@Killobyte Cool! I can't wait to see it on your channel. With the Race, it installs at its optimal height and it looks good and subtle,

      Would you suggest against it because o f stability? I almost bought it before I read this. And i am the kinda person to notice everything.

    When I installed my 'Race' I found removing the rubber hangers to be a real PITa. In hindsight I should have bought the Lisle 38350 Exhaust Removal Pliers or generic type from ebay. They are cheap enough to have on hand for further exhaust work.

    Kill-O-Byte I was able to take off the stock muffler, but just like your video my right stud is stuck in the stock muffler. I tried the double nut method, and it still wont come off. Any tips? I don't have a torch unfortunately. Or do you think mazda parts will sell me another stud to use?

      I’m sure they will sale you one if they have one. If there is a mechanic near you they might be able to break it lose also.

    Hello there just liked and subscribed great video! I am doing this install this Friday and just bought Ramps like yours! Question for you did you only use rear ramps? Just making sure that I don’t need anything for the front thank you!

    Any idea how this exhaust affects power?

    • @Killobyte
      @Killobyte  Před 2 lety

      It's lighter and I THINK Goodwin says it's a 5 HP gain.

  • @carlosbrigett2574
    @carlosbrigett2574 Před rokem

    But, it's a straight pipe! The Helmholtz chamber is connected perpendicular to the straight pipe so there is no break-in to do.

    I want this Exhaust for my 16 ND but I'm afraid of the water leak in the Exhaust because , people have mentioned that the gasket doesn't work and water starts to leak

    • @Killobyte
      @Killobyte  Před 5 lety +1

      The water leaking at the flange doesn't hurt the exhaust, in fact it's best to get it out of there so it doesn't rust. If you really don't like it, you can use a couple washers to tighten it up or you can add an additional flat gasket.
