An Outbreak in the Rockies (EAS Scenario)

- *reminder: this is fake/hypothetical*
In early spring, Colorado is known for getting ridiculous amounts of snow and cold temperatures. However, in this rare season, moistire from the GOM is higher than usual and advects moisture all the way towards the Rocky Mountains. From the west, a massive trough is amplifying and the low-level jet undergoes cyclogenesis. The combination of high low-level shear and ample instability will create a profilic environment for strong tornadoes...in the Denver and Colorado Springs metro areas. - Hry
i swear to god you never miss. incredible job as always man.
As a person who lives really close to Denver, I would give this scenario a 7/10 in terms of accuracy.
I was really impressed with some of the maps you used, especially the SPC outlook at the beginning. I love how you only brought the risk up to an enhanced risk for the Denver area which is pretty much the highest risk you can get in the area. However, the EAS screen you used for the tornado warnings were inaccurate as well as the layout for the FOX 31 News segments. Also, a tornado with EF5 level strength would be near impossible for the Denver area but I guess anything could be possible nowadays. An EF3 or low end EF4 would make a little more sense. One more thing, I wont comment on how this scenario takes place during March because severe thunderstorms can form almost anywhere as long as the conditions are right.
Anyways, sorry for the long comment and I'm not trying to insult your work, I'm just giving a bit of feedback. This was actually a pretty good scenario! Well done!
Not to mention, tornados have a super tough time even devopling in areas such as lakewood . If anything, it would be southeast Aroua/ Centennial and over by DIA where tornados would devolp. I'm from the Denver area aswell
When I first got this in my recommended I was like "alright, this'll be a nice little EAS mock to start off my 3-day weekend."
Then I noticed that it's 32 minutes long and pulled out the popcorn.
Thank you! Thank you for taking my suggestion! You didn’t have to but thank you!
Hi Dante. I am a fan of EAS Scenarios and a great job! I started watching EAs scenarios due to the EF6 one that has over 2 Million views. Great job, you are one of my inspires to make one if I have the right tools to do so!
Polly Pocket: Golly, good thing me and my friends are in Littleton, South of you poor guys. Erm, so far...
*Breathes a sigh of relief. This time*
I think the Denver tornado alone tops the florida tornado havoc ones. Lakeland and Orlando probably didnt have a comparison to this one.
Can’t wait for this and great scenario love it so much also keep up with the great work as always and this scenario was so good
No matter how much effort you made into these scenarios, you will still be remembered as the greatest EAS scenario creator
Dante you did outstanding!!! This scenario deserves a W
NO WAY ITS DROPPING TODAY?((
yes it is kay
the best part about this is that the dude at the start looks at the day 1 convective outlook 1 second after waking up, literally me (i havent even watched this fully yet)
I have a scenario idea for you. How about some Tornadoes that strike the Pacific Northwest, like in Neah Bay, La Push, Forks, Westport, Hoquiam, Long Beach, Ilwaco, Astoria, Warrenton, Seaside, Cannon Beach, Arch Cape, Manzanita, Rockaway Beach, Garibaldi, Tillamook, Newport, Waldport, Florence, Reedsport, North Bend, Charlestown, Bandon, Sixes, Port Orford, Gold Beach, Pistol River, and Brookings
Enjoyed the scenario, however, Colorado Springs hasn't had tornado sirens since the early 90's. The nearest areas with tornado sirens are Fort Carson, Schriever SFB, Peterson SFB, USAFA, Manitou Springs, Calhan, and Ramah. I remember when the city took out the sirens in early 91, I was a freshman in high school at the time. Other than that, very impressed with the accuracy to Colorado Springs.
Wow you are my favorite youtuber!!!
POV: you're eating a snack while watching and listening to you and your friends dying in an alternate universe 💀
Scenario idea: Miracle.
Basically it’s like a lot of other eas scenarios. The major tornado is about to delete Oklahoma City or some other populated center. However, it weakens or changes course at the last moment saving many many lives
ik i said i was gonna do this before and i worked on it but it fell apart....maybe ill rethink in the future!
@@JustDantesounds good
@@JustDante 14:11 is this the fairdale illinois tornado sound
the hook signature in a golden picture frame has got to be to most hilarious thing i've ever seen in an eas scenario
Plot twist: the Colorado Springs supercell drops another strong tornado and it goes essentially along US 24 from Peyton to 5 east of Calhan causing isolated EF3 damage and in Calhan, every structure along 5th st from one side of town to the other is affected in some way, from minorroof damage to being severelydamaged.
The rare tornado siren in Calhan is destroyed but has given it's life to save the entire town. Not even so much as a minor injury is reported in the town of 700. The entire townspeople were quick to seek shelter. The school district got all it's students and employees into their cold war era fallout shelter. The after-school activities meant that less people were on site than usual.
Meanwhile, even Pueblo county doesn't escape the mayhem, with 2 supercells producing 4.25 inch hail at the NWS office, and a ef0 tornado crossing hwy 96 east of Boone.
Another good scenario, man. Keep at it.
Bro doesn’t miss this is good as helllllllllllll
woah the weather channel bar at the beginning to get too real
The text under the tv screen during the intro is so funny you might have missed it when you watched it
I live in the suburbs of Denver lol

@@JustDante lol it felt very intresting

This kind of is what happened during the Highlands Ranch EF 1
I will so be here! Even though I’ll be at work, I’ll be here!
Can we do one for Chicago and Milwaukee?
It's like that Last Man Standing episode.
I coincidentally watched this video on March 21st, 2024!
Amazing Scenario! Do you mind if I use this video of yours in the future?

These weather people are annoying! I know he's retired and NOT Colorado, but where the hell is Gary England when you need him!!
absolutely amazing
Out of curiosity, how were you able to overlay radar data over a location of your choosing?
I've known people who have done it before with GR2, and I wondered if that's the process you used for this.
custom made radar sites, i might do a tutorial

Odd question- but what is the program that makes the chime noise when the PDS is issues at 9:27?

Um...Road 26, means nothing here in Colorado. It's Alameda Ave West & East. Coloradans KNOW where that is!!!
Noice video!

Request : Moisture and strong northernly winds combined with a troph position near the DFW metro area. NWS Fort worth issues a SLGT on day 2, but keep in mind this scenario is happening early in the morning during rush hour when most people go to work... the day 1 risk gets updates to MDT due to high straightline wind damage, hail risk, and a 15% TOR. Will fort worth, arlington, or dallas survive... thats up to you dante ;)
I have some images of IRL wallcloud/rotation that you can use. just let me know and i can tell you my dicord
ive already done a scenario on dfw tbf
@@JustDante you should make another because I can’t find the dfw one

You think any of the super high sky scrapers would collapse. I think they would make it.
Lubbock, TX had hi-rises structurally affected by an F5 in the 1970s. One was twisted out of square and others torn up real good.
