    I personally like the overall layout and utility of the Vegas, but there are pros and cons to everything. What I like about Class C's (and particularly Super C's) is the crash zone in front of the driver, the ability to exit the cab through adjacent doors on both sides, and the relative ease of maintenance for everything under the hood.
    But the step-down into the cab, and the overhead berth are big negatives. I've looked at everything from fifth wheels, to trailers, to truck-bed campers, and everything in between, and there is always something that drives me to look for an alternative. When they come up with the perfect RV, I'll likely be dead and gone.

      Do yourself a HUUUUUGE favor. Google picture search 'People Camping'. I'm going to spoil it for you. You will not see one picture of anyone INSIDE of an RV of any type. You are over thinking it. An RV is place for storage, food, sleeping and in the case of a motor coach, transportation. Your RV is NOT your adventure. Your adventure is where you are going. Start living, not shopping. Our favorite spot is Gulf Shores. I can be there in 12 hours, do I care if I'm driving my RV or pulling my condo on wheels??? Food for thought.

    • @happycampinggeoff

      One more thing, I sold cars for 22 years. My beginning years I was very well trained by Toyota. (Say what you want, their training was better than any other manufacturer) I would rather have my engine way below me than right in front of me coming into where I'm sitting. That and NOBODY ever brings in a class A and says I want to trade for a class C. NEVER.

    We bought a Vegas new in 2018. I always liked the Thor floor plans and storage, BUT,, the thing drove terrible (As a truck driver It was scarry driving it because it wandered all over the road) and it literally started falling apart. I can't go into all the things that were bad. There is not enough room. It was in the dealer shop about three months repairing things. After six months we couldn't stand it any more and traded it in for another brand.

      Not surprised you had those issues. My main problem with bot of these w/o even looking at them further is the fact that Thor makes them, as Thor is one of the top crap-maker RV brands.
      Consequently, I'd want neither of thee...but WOULD be interested in a Vegas-like Class A if it were made buy a quality makers, like Pleasure-Way, Leisure Travel Vans or other quality maker.

That, and I don't know where the heck the work force went but it seems like people have to pay $20 per hour for fast food workers which makes a crappy burger cost $8 and a small class A cost $100,000.

    I considered buying a Thor Vegas...BUT.....I need a back door that allows me to move whatever...lumber, furnature, etc. I, instead, bought a Thor Tellaro that HAS that back door and plenty of storage space where I can "park" all that lumber, furnature, etc while transporting it. I WISH Thor would consider putting a back door on the Vegas so I can use the vehicle for more than just camping. On the Vegas 24.1, which DOES have a back door, all Thor would need to do is put a "hatch" on the forward side of the rear storage space, so things like lumber, kayaks, bikes etc could be passed through into the rear sleeping area. Hope they're listening!

    • @happycampinggeoff
      @happycampinggeoff  Před rokem +1

      I completely agree. It's so disappointing when you are the salesperson and the customer calls you on their first trip screaming 'It's raining inside my slide out!' However, the Vegas is sooo hard to beat because of its size. I now work for a different dealership in St. Louis that sells Coachmen products. It's a night and day difference. Don't get me wrong, they all have their problems, but not like the Vegas, ACE and Windsport.

    • @badguy5554
      @badguy5554 Před rokem +1

      Thor is pushing out vehicles so fast, QC is NOT their high point. They rely on the the customers to do that and bring the problems back to the dealer to fix. The RV's, once they are "trouble shot" by the customer, are great vehicles. BUT...the new owner has to put a lot of time and effort figuring out and fixing all the problems that come out of the factory. I've had two Thor RV's, a B+ and a B. I had to do a lot of work on both after purchase.

      It will get a little better gas mileage simply due to its weight. If you put the same engine in a coach that's ten feet longer that engine has to work a LOT harder to move it down the road. Does the curvature of the windshield help? I would say a little.
