    --- Brief History:
They had attended art school and worked together in different media before releasing singles under the names The Yellow Bellow Room Boom then Frabjoy and Runcible Spoon. They later got tons of experience working at Strawberry Studios and formed Hotlegs then 10cc with Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman.
After releasing 4 excellent art rock albums, the duo left the group to focus on bringing their device for electric guitar or bass, the Gizmotron, to market alongside a triple album called "Consequences" that showed the abilities of the Gizmo.
In 1979, the duo directed their first music video and during the '80s they were hired to direct innovative videos for artists including George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Duran Duran, Elton John, Toyah, Wang Chung, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Peter Gabriel, The Police, Sting, 10cc, and more.
Before parting ways in 1988, the duo released some incredible albums including "L," "Freeze Frame," and "Ismism." Their styles include Art Pop, Progressive Rock, New Wave, and more while always sounding unique.

Special thanks to Erik and Sarah McComb, Ashli Dunkley, and Kevin Arnold. Though I didn't use any of the stuff you recorded Kevin, I'm sorry you had to hear it this way. I love you.

My initial thought was, "hasn't this guy heard The Beatles?" Haha. But, when you consider how much of The Beatles innovation was from their production team, and the fact that 10cc produced themselves, I think there is a strong argument in your favor.

@@SeansMusicHunt Thanks dude. I've admired the talents of 10cc since I was a 6 year old kid in the middle mid seventies and then totally absorbed myself into their music with the release of their 1985 ish album Changing Faces, The Best of 10cc and Godley and Creme. Then I discovered a live in Japan CD in about 1992, which I've actually played to death, ( many of the tracks no longer play successfully😆) The live versions of Art for Art's Sake and I'm Mandy, Fly Me are among the greatest masterpieces ever put on record and to think they're live concert tracks, is nothing short of flabbergasting. The guitar solo on Art for Art's Sake is mind-blowing, audio perfection.

This is a heartwarming mini-documentary about one of the most creative musicians and video artists of the 70s. Nice job brother. You did a very thorough effort including a respectable tribute to the fabulous (to true Godley & Creme fans) "Consequences". I'm not crazy about hearing the dialogue more than a couple of times. But all of the music is exceptional and outstanding. Choosing G & C as subject matter is greatly appreciated by this fanatic. I am completely impressed with your achievement. You obviously put a lot of work into this. I totally agree with your assessment of "L". It is nothing short of brilliant. One small critique and it's very small. Its pronounced RUNcible as in "I had to run some errands". Not ROONcible. That's it. Otherwise you covered it all beautifully. You are to be commended. I still have my vinyl boxed set bought in a clearance sale the late 1970s (5 uk pounds!) and two CD releases (a 2CD set from around 2000 and a 5CD box from 2018). There was also a cut down album entitled "Music from Consequences" containing just the songs without the dialogue. Loved the "hole" reference too! 😂

I was asked by a friend in September 1973 if I fancied helping load-in etc, for 10cc at the California Ballroom in Dunstable[UK}..I thought it would be fun,so on Sept.8th,arrived at about 3-00pm met them,[very easy going chaps]they showed me their set-up,including a Mini-Moog,which was being used purely for percussion effects, and a tape cartridge device for playing jingles [on radio] for playing sound effects..for that gig they were using Paul Burgess as drummer, along with Kevin...after the gig I asked about, and was shown the original Gizmo, which did look a bit clunky..attached to a tatty Strat..and I got paid a few pounds,{which barely covered my own petrol cost},but hey,all good fun....I might add,Kevin and Lol turned up in an AC428,while Gaham,Eric, and Paul arrived in a big old limousine..

Ya know, it's kind of funny that I make these types of videos for CZcams but I rarely watch other CZcams videos about bands and their histories. But it was probably in around 2017 or 2018 that CZcams suggested a video about "I'm Not on Love" by 10cc. Previously, I had never really cared for that song, now understanding that I never actually heard the full version, nor did I understand the brilliance of how it was created. After watching that video, I eventually became a huge fan of 10cc And being a fan of experimental music and people who aren't afraid to express their creativity, I eventually dived into Godley and Creme. But just as a side note, ever since I was a teenager, I have enjoyed learning everything I can about old bands from the '60s and '70s.

Being a huge fan of 10cc and G and C, thanks for posting. More a fan of G and C's art rock/pop music than their videos (they were very experienced, innovative talented musicians, creating and producing a very rich seam of music with 10cc)....I always lamented that they left 10cc as the fissure in '76 threw all into oblivion instead of stratospheric success that they were all deservedly due. They turned in to mediocre video moguls (and probably made pot loads of money in the process) and produced flat sounding records that their hearts weren't truly in whilst Gouldman and Stewart mostly turned into Paul McCartney at his most schmaltzy...............Very sad...Why couldn't they have taken a leaf out of Queen's book and stuck together as 10cc?

Comprehensive. I don’t think anyone else has delved into the nooks and crannies of G&C as thoroughly as you have here on CZcams ( …or was the cat the real puppet master?). I especially appreciate the inclusion of Mondo Video. I recall seeing it for sale long ago at Virgin Records on Sunset Strip… and then bits of it landed up on CZcams. It’s super indulgent in the weirdest but intriguing ways. These guys loved to play around in their video and tech sandbox… package it and move on to the next “what if we did this?” idea . ‘Kind of veering more into navel-gazering without much care to what happened commercially -or so it seemed. They floated in the commercial sphere on their one-time pop status and just when you thought they’d dried up …another release would come out. Now they seem to regard each other like the friends you knew in high school but never find a space in your adult life for. They both remain great heroes of the creative fringe who still had a foot in pop culture as well.

The Beatles poster was given to me when I was in Highschool and I thought it was hilarious to print 10cc's faces on some sticker paper for the background of this video. My friends Erik and Sarah helped print them out. You're the first one to mention it! Thanks!
Thank you for appreciating the video! I'm glad you enjoyed it! You can use it to tell your friends how cool these guys are! 😂

Guess I'm taking to a rock purist here, but I think you're wrong about "Wedding Bells", it's why I am here at all. It is one thing for a couple of rock guys to perform R&B Soul, but Smokey Robinson and motown at their peak could have done NO better. Godley's voice is made for this kind of music.

Hi there! Thank you very much for watching my video and sharing thoughts with me! I don't deny that it is an excellent track. Just for me, I seek more unusual music which is what draws me to this band and I feel "Wedding Bells" is a great, but more typical sounding song than what I'm searching for. I do enjoy some soul now and then, but it wasn't what I wanted from the guys that gave me tracks like "Une Nuit a Paris" or "Sandwiches of You."

Correction: The brass on 'An Englishman in New York' was NOT played by Rico Rodriquez. That is Wiki misinformation. The musician was actually Norman 'Hurricane' Smith, former Beatles engineer, Pink Floyd producer and hitmaker in his own right ("Oh Babe, What Would You say?").

@@SeansMusicHunt Indeed I did! Another point that might be of interest regarding Zappa's 'Joe's Garage'. The 1973 10cc single 'Johnny, Don't Do It' concerned a young punk, Johnny Angel, who "stole a bike from Joe's Garage to prove that he was cool". Did Frank hear that song and subliminally store that name in the back of his mind for future use or, to use a line from G&C's 'Get Well Soon', "was it just coincidence; who knows?"

Always amusing to see someone defend (insofar as that's possible) that mess of a triple-album. Presumably they made a point of hiring Peter Cook rather than Spike Milligan (the malaproper responsible for the phrase "the disastrous Quincyquonces").
Goodbye Blue Sky is the outline of what could have been their best "pop" album - the Creme of that particular crop - but of course they'd "gotten religion" (again) so it ends up far too Godley for my liking.

Personally, I'm into absurd ideas and creativity. I don't like pop albums after the 60s for the most part. But as I say in the video, I won't listen to the entirety of "Consequences" often and mostly listen to the highlights and the first side.
