@idunnowhatname That would be borderline illegal. People bought in-game currency and items. They can't just delete them, Rockstar's reputation would be permanently ruined.
You never know what developers are planning, but I do think they would disappoint millions of players if they do not have an isolated, new Online mode for GTA 6.
I know TakeTwo is greedy, but doing that would be the most idiotic move in history. This is their magnum opus, one that they sank millions if not billions on it (that's what I heard). Besides, why on earth would they make effort to port an old online to new one when they already have all the new assets made for the new game?? That's just too dumb even thinking about it.
@@mikaelst.vixenberg475I’d say regardless we will see Los Santos is GTA 6 at some point. They will be doing map expansion & new cities so LS will be back
Or just combine Los Santos with whatever new city is. Billions of players still get to use the vehicles they worked hard for a decade and still get access to new vehicles .
Why just the opresser people grief with the jet they grief with the tank the deluxo i mean assholes are gonna grief if theres any kind of rockets or a way to do it so removing opresser is fine with me but its not going to solve griefers
The real confusion lies in the fact that both online versions (the current and the new one) will have engine differences. Hence, it doesnt make sense to have a single menu for choosing in between the two. Even some sort of a story connection between the versions doesnt make sense cuz of the engine differences. I think they are trying to leave GTAO in its final state by upgrading it to the fullest (like adding animals in the dec update etc). They wont shut down the servers but abandon GTAO like they did with RDRO and focus only on GTA6O
What Servers? GTA still runs on Peer-to-Peer. There is nothing to shut down. And neither does RDR2 Online. And Story Connection does make sense, since they don't change between Engine updates. The Story, or sometimes called Multiverse only changes from: 2D: Grand Theft Auto Grand Theft Auto: London 1969 Grand Theft Auto: London 1961 Grand Theft Auto 2 Then it changes into 3D: Grand Theft Auto III Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Grand Theft Auto Advance Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories And then into HD: Grand Theft Auto IV The Lost and Damned The Ballad of Gay Tony Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Grand Theft Auto V Grand Theft Auto Online And soon to be GTA 6. But the Universe doesn't change between Engine Updates. Pretty much every single game here has had some engine improvements to the prior game. GTA Online, outside of DLC production is basically free for Rockstar. They won't shut down anything. The only thing they will do is to stop making Content updates just like with RDR Online.
GTAO already runs on a newer version of RAGE than GTAV. It was updated sometime around Cayo Perico being released. Upgrading to match the version GTAVI will be using should be possible. I've been saying for years now that I think all the changes around the Cayo release were a technical "proof of concept" for adding in much bigger "secondary" maps, beyond the building interior maps we already had. There's no reason why they couldn't add Vice City as a second map and slowly port GTAVI mechanics into the game fully. Given the "distance" between cities in world, too, that could be used as an excuse to not allow you to move existing vehicles to the new map.
Absolutely not. GTAV & Online wasn't designed for that no matter how many mental hoops you try to jump through to make it seem possible. Just accept the fact GTAV's Online will be put into maintenance mode the closer we get to VI, and your character & progression will be "lost." There may be some events in V's online we can do to earn an achievement that provides bonus money, a weapon, or clothing(Like when RDR2 was coming out we had those Treasure Maps to figure out) for when VI comes around. And honestly that's the way I'd like it. Don't wanna spawn into a fresh new game and someone rolls up on a flying bike blowing me up right outta the gate. Praying they get rid of that futuristic bs in VI @@ant21
GTAO is a hybrid. Yes, it is P2P but it also uses Social Club servers for syncing player profiles and inventory. This is why you cannot launch GTAO on 360 or PS3 copies, after the SC shutdown. Then there’s GTA IV, which has zero dependencies on SC or any other server, really. Technically IV’s multiplayer is unkillable, so long as two people exist on the internet with copies of the game running.
It would be kinda cool if our online characters are reference d in some way in GTA 6 considering they exsist in canon in the GTA 5 Universe and 6 is in that same universe, our characters by this point are probably the most dangerous successful people in the GTA universe word will have spread about their antics. Even if its subtle like a character going on a rant and saying something along the line's of "Los Santos is practically ran by a mute" since yknow it kinda is.
@@jose_mereit’s in the same universe. Online starts months before the main story and catches up to 2023. Lester even references your character in the main story saying “they’re unpredictable”
GTA Online 2 would be quite intriguing... It'll be quite interesting to see what path rockstar go down for it. Regardless shark cards aren't going anywhere.
just update GTA Online Rage engine & add some of the new features what gta6 story will have like ex especially the duffle bag for more inventory and ai update and if can add vice city to go to or just change the map. @@TGG_
I just don't think they are going to abandon GTA Online. I do think they will make an Online for the new GTA Title but GTA Online will continue on as a Standalone Title essentially. With some Years of management probably from a kind of dedicated team while there is another branch or team to work on the next GTA Titles Online experience. Who knows though all speculation but if they do intend on making GTA Online the "Be All End All" Online Experience for GTA then I surely hope they do it right and update the engine regularly and continue EXPANDING the entire world as a whole. Though, again, who knows. I suppose we will see. Edit: I know it sounds kinda weird to say but it would be interesting to see the current GTA V world Updated with new graphics and such then add in the GTA 6 World into it as possibly a separate location you can Fly to or something. So I could see how they could actually make GTA Online the "Be All End All" Online experience BUT they would have to for sure take the time to make it work. Like when you go Online perhaps you can Choose which "map" or City to start in like Options: Location 1: Los Santos Location 2: Vice City etc etc. Then while In-Game go to the Airport, which will be like the Travel Hub, to Travel to the other Locations/Cities. So over time like GTA 7 may be Liberty City then that adds a new Location/City to the Hub. Because I don't see them being able to add them all into one loaded area. I mean maybe they could but they would have to redo the way the Engine Renders the World and use like Nanite Technology to optimize how the world is rendered. Technology is getting to the point of being able to nearly limitlessly grow a Game World but only time will tell. I just see the easier way of this is like I stated above. Using the Airports as Travel Hubs. AGAIN this is ALL just Speculation but would be an Interesting and kind of a really cool way to combine the GTA Universe together Online. The Chat System could be interesting and State which City each player is in for Global Chat then each City can also have a Local Chat etc etc. It would be A LOT of work to do but is possible. I think at least.
I would defenitly love this aprouch and maybe this way i could finaly deside to spend monney on them😅 Besides the airports would not be so intresting if its only meant for point south to west traveling. Plus they just adding the new birthday gifts thingy why add it only to delete it??? I would absolutly freaking love to go on a trip to disney with all my current employees aswell as hiring new one in a foreighn country
As someone who is about to start fresh, (moving from PC to Xbox Series S) this would be of great benefit. 😂 I imagine R would probably just do a MASSIVE GTA Online update, and as you said, the airport/ Galaxy super 🛥️ would act as 🧭 hubs so we may travel from 🗺️ to 🗺️. (Similar to cayo perico.)
the best option in my opinion could be a "half reset" to open up the new map, for instance add a storyline where the fib is busting your whole operation in LS and you're only able to take a briefcase with say 500k or 1mil, then get some extra for each property or vehicle you own and you have to escape to vice city after fighting your way around. you could then get a timer of say 1 week that you need to hide on VC so that you can go from VC to LS back and forth, then players would be encouraged to grind on the new map instead of just bringing their old money. This would also be the perfect opportunity to remove/limit some of the futuristic and problematic vehicles, so let's say make them only available on missions (since you reset anyways, you would'nt own anything) or with limited/rebalanced weapons, this would be the best of both worlds as it could keep all of the content of current GTAO and add more on the new map, they could then rebalance all businesses to work together on both cities, make a cargoship or plane to transport vehicles from one city to the other, etc. If RAGE is capable even add some direct bridges to be able to access all in a single map even by land. this would also lay a nice framework for future expansions when needed, next time these resets wouldn't be necessary because they could simply balance the new GTAO better, make inflation corrections etc, maybe future updates could be sequential like liberty city everything is more expensive to balance the fact that most players would have money from before, then if they added Las Venturas make it even more expensive and every now and then make some inflation corrections so it stays consistent long term.
@@VitaminDealer yes they would have to balance out the economy; I just suggested a random number from the top of my mind but it could totally be something else
I think it's even more interesting with the updates that Rockstar has announced for GTA online, the birthdays feature (why add that if this is the last year of the game?), new animals on current gen consoles, and even more things Seems like a lot for what you'd think is the final months of this game's life
@@PelicanMafiaIt kind of feels like the modders and mod menus are a losing battle on PC and R* doesn’t want to fight it anymore. It wastes so much of their effort and time fighting this war that they can never win. It basically ruined the experience for everyone. Then R* bought FiveM and RedM. So they now get any money on PC that those services make. I mean, R* hasn’t brought GTA+ to PC yet and that pretty telling. It’s like they’ve given up on trying to monetize that platform entirely now.
I know this would probably never happen but in my dream world, they would kinda combine the two, where if you are playing on Vice city map you start over fresh have to work your way up. But you could take a plane over to LS and you would still have all the stuff you worked for over the last ten years. So it would be sepreate but you would have access to new stuff and old. I know it would probably never happen but I would absolutely love it
@@puppygruppy6217 but then there is a chance they shut down the servers and you lose all your old stuff, plus think of the opportunity to have multi map missions and just more places to screw around in general
I honestly want a clean slate as well. I want to have the "new game" feeling, not carry over 10 years of messy history with money cheating, Oppressor Mk2s, etc. Also I hope the character editor will be much better - so you can actually look like a person. Just entirely replace the old GTA Online and let the servers still run for people who want to go back for nostalgia.
Started wondering the same sort of thing a few years ago when rockstar had to renew music licenses and even add new ones for online content. That alone must have cost multi millions.
I just think they will not discontinue it until the new gtao is successful enough to replace it. After rdo we all know how easy it is for them to abandon a good game. They just follow the money
They will never abandon GTA Online, it has had such a huge impact on gaming as a whole that it would be impossible for them to just completely abandon the game. Most likely what will happen is that they will somehow find a wat t continue the current GTA online onto a new map and then just build it from there.
They aren’t really separate games TGG. The only reason they separated the two is because the majority of people play gta for the online mode. This makes them a lot more money. The odds of them overhauling absolutely every thing about gta 5 online is very low. There’s almost zero reason to do that.
I completely get your point, but by Rockstar’s definition they are separate. If they make a new GTA Online, they will need to call it GTA 6 Online, GTA Online 2 or something else. What do you think their plans are? I genuinely have no clue
@@TGG_ they will probably just call it gta 6 online yeah. I just don’t think names have any relevance to they’re overall planning. Them making gta online separate and on next gen only 3 years before gta 6 comes out makes perfect sense even if people magically stopped playing gta online once gta 6 comes out. They definitely made they’re moneys worth within a year after making it next gen and separate.
@@TGG_They'll probably call it gta online and discontinue the current one. Even if the trailer for GTA 6 is coming now, the game itself will take atleast a year to release, and it's online will probably take a few more months after the story mode comes out. By then, the current GTA online could get discontinued
I honestly thought this would be the case with GTA online 6 when the Cayo Perico heist got added. Seemed like a test of the airport -> new map feature. It makes sense to me that we will just hop on a flight from LS to VC and back.
@@jose_mere I mean it is doable the teleport means your not loading 2 maps at once there going to have vice city in online anyway so maybe they will do it Being honest tho this ain't happening I think 1 main reason is rockstar doesn't want us to take our money from Los Santos but more importantly they don't want something distracting people from the shiny new thing
Honestly it would be pretty disappointing to not get a new online for gta, because the current one suffers alot from hackers, oppressor MK2, and many more
@@ibrahimsamman188 there is a potential to add something like that in GTA 6 online. For obvious reasons, they didn’t remove it from GTA V while they know how much damage it causes.
I remember seeing this channel YEARS ago and it’s amazing seeing him with over a million subs now and still reading every comment like he did at the start. Keeping going my friend I love to see the progress
Would love to see R* use the LSIA as a terminal to get from los Santos to the new map for GTA6. Say you go to the airport where you can take a flight to “Vice city”. Either loading a new character for that map or using the same one, but having to start fresh possibly just continuing your lvl progress but having to start with no money, cars, businesses.
New gta6 online is better cause it feels so rewarding to go from 0 to being extremely wealthy. I remember living under a bridge in a 2 car garage. Then through the help of my friends I got my first apartment. Then did heists save money and bought businesses over time. Not once have I paid a shark card. Now I am at a little under 500 million. Yet I still grind occasionally.
@@christianrodriguez5346 facts I’ve seen so much people wanting their characters and money to transfer over to gta 6 and it doesn’t make sense to me. What’s the point of playing a new game if you want all your progress from the old one to come with you? Starting fresh is the way to go.
@@dravidianking1298 They should do the thing they did when you played on a previous generation of consoles on the same rockstar account where you get a few rewards like some not OP vehicles, clothes and stuff like that for free which would be a nice middle ground.
Very good video and discussion point! I think the Fortnite, ever-changing approach is the right way to go with GTA 6 Online. As for the name, assuming GTA 5's Online will be a different game, I wouldn't be surprised if they just call it GTA Online: Vice City. Then, they retroactively change GTA 5's Online to GTA Online: Los Santos. Of course, this approach could become problematic if they want to have multiple of these maps in one, but I doubt they'll go that direction, at least not anytime soon.
Can't say I'd mind "futuristic vehicles" as long as they make them way easier to deal with. That's my personal issue with the Opp MkII at least pre nerfs. . .I'm also biased with the Deluxo because I love Back To The Future. Speaking of, did you know the Khanjali is based on a real Tank, a Polish one, just of course without the Railgun upgrade? Cause I didn't know that until a friend told me about it...right before she killed me in game with it, in a Friends Lobby haha. That said, I agree with you, I'd like a fresh start to be honest. I'll miss Los Santos, but it's time.
Futuristic vehicles are good as fun movie references and not something you’re supposed to take seriously in the world. The problem is rockstar throws missiles on all of them which means u have to take them seriously
Thank you for bringing up this question TGG. I have been talking about exactly this since Rockstar separated GTA V from online. I suspect this will happen and that Online will become a future metaverse, when the future tech becomes available. From an old gamer 😊
As someone who has grinded to get a 50+ car collection in GTA Online I too would love nothing more than to see us all get reset. To hell with all those futuristic vehicles, I miss the old online.
Biggest hope is they make our current player a supplier or liaison in a sense to the new in 6. Same way they have the *Beginner Business Pack* that grants a car+ etc… do that. Allow us a certain $ amount to take and a car/Biz from our collection for returning players; Is the best idea if they want story continuity.
If they don't I will be mad af, there is cars that I missed out on because Rockstar decided to make it "exclusive" and it makes me mad. I hope if GTA 6 online is a thing they don't remove and make cars once again "exclusive". And not only that I don't want futuristic cars like you said in the video. Thank you for this video TGG, and hopefully Rockstar sees this and listen to you.🙏
@@SuperMikemalone Thats sounds more like what will happen eventually. Why charge a one time fee for the game when they can turn it into another subsrciption service that you have to keep paying for to use it.
It's highly unlikely that the online mode for the next gta will still take place in ls. If we have an entire new map to explore. Filled to the brim with the smallest of details only to just completely cast it aside? Whatever new map the story takes place in will be the very same one as online. It has to. And it will.
Finally someone with a brain. It’s obvious that they will do this, they wouldn’t spend 10 years in development and a huge amount of money in gta6 to stay with the old online mode. Online is where they make their money.
Also consider that the devs could be probing and testing all these new GTA online features and measuring the success/engagement of them for the next GTA online. At least that's what I hope anyway
as far as online goes i do also hope it woud be fresh start. but i woud also hope they woud include option to travel to play in los santos too (by using airline or flying/boating to spesific points in the ocean when you woud then load in to diferent map). but i think that is just whisful thinking. but i do also hope that there woud be some bonus items you woud get for free or in discounted prise if you own them in current online. for example that golden plane, helicopter and also the yacht (wihic coud be drivable like kosaka is in current online) that you coud also use to fast travel to los santos.
I hope they keep invite only sessions and allow us to make sales in those invite only sessions. Also I'm pretty sure they said it's gonna be a fresh start I could be wrong
Awesome video TGG I have been thinking this ever since there was talk of a map expansion with the Cayo update. I think there's alot to what youre saying. I agree with you on everything except wanting the reset character. I think the game will seem very repetitive after about a year.
1: Just because the Next GTA Online comes out, doesn't mean they will instantly drop GTA V Online. 2: The release of GTA6 in 2024 or 2025 doesn't mean the new Online will also come out in that time frame. They might release it a year or so down the line. Just like the PC version for V Online. 3: GTA V Online doesn't have Servers, and therefore basically no major running cost outside of DLC production. Which means they don't have a reason to shut it down. 4: GTA V Online will keep getting support for a few years, but most likely no new major content updates... Seeing as Cayo Perico was the last major Update this just proves my point. Just look at the latest DLCs. 5: GTA+ membership will probably be for both Online games. If you buy it, you will get the Benefits in both V Online and VI Online. I highly doubt they will add a "GTA+ 2" 6: GTA Online Multiverse... Highly unlikely as you can only add so much on a single instance of a game, especially when you plan on releasing it on consoles. PS3 and XBOX360 versions support for V Online where cut, and now they start doing the same for the PS4 and Xbox One versions. Much more likely would be a Warzone situation, where different games are hosted on the same client. Which would make sense seeing as the already released V Online as a Standalone. 6.5: going hand in hand with the Multiverse, consoles aswell as PCs have a limited amount of Diskspace. You simply can't keep adding and adding without consequences. RDR2 is already 120 GB big on PC. GTA V is about 100GB. On the normal PS5 you only have about 667 GB of actual useable Diskspace. Merging GTA 5 Online with 6 Online would basically fill half your disk already. 7: If they just port GTA5 online to 6, they can basically close Rockstar games after. People aren't going to play the same shit for another 10 or 15 years. Even if they upgrade the Graphics. 8: Shark Cards. A reset in economy along with new content will massively boost the sale of Shark Cards. Take2 isn't going to miss out on that.
I agree with u TEE i too wanna start a fresh in the new GTAO and what would be cool is all the characters such as micheal n franklin has aged alot at the respected homes and trevor is either a mountain man or his skeletal remains was found by ron at the huge pile of rocks in sandy shores
GTA is kinda like the real world and we have airports, maybe Los Santos will become an isolated location you can freely come to with all money/cars in that location and just fly to Vice city with separate money/cars etc and vice versa.
6:09 exactly more for this reason. i think it is weird it was added very late to the game, but it is content at the end of the day. when the new game comes out, there will be no updates to this one, but ppl will still want to grind it, people always go back to the old game to complete everything
It's already been said, but it'd be nice if they upgraded Los Santos / Blaine County so that they bring forward people's progress (there's a lot of 10+ year vets and it'd be nice to preserve that progress) while leaving Vice City / GTA VI locations completely separate from the GTA V world. As if you're flying from one coast to the other and your 'criminal empires' can both exist but are not transferable between one another. Respecting the local turf/territory/bosses could be the excuse for that.
Feel ya man we pretty much have the same idea.
I would love to see online become project Americas, adding Vice City to online, re-working los Santos and expanding to new cities when 7 or 8 come out or if gta is no longer story mode based whenever a city gets stagnant. Las Venturas, San Fierro, La Puerta, Liberty City and the modern equivalent of the area Red Dead 2 takes up in America all added little by little and you could pick where you start and just load into different cities at an airport or something like that. And use AI and new graphics engines whenever tech allows for upgraded maps and mechanics. I would love to get rid of all the future vehicles for sure or at least put them in separate lobbies like they do with bad sport lobbies.
@kurtpunchesthings2411 it's a pipe dream for sure, but a while ago rockstar was talking about Project Americas and changing gaming completely. They probably gave up on the idea though if they didn't see enough dollar signs with it.
They were planning to do that with VI but they cut it back to just Vice city and some surrounding areas. So that project is already down the drain. Best you could hope for now is a mod@@allentrevino3916
In my head, adding Leonida would be like adding Cayo Perico; it's just a new location that you can fly to, although distinct from the other locations. In this case, I assume that Leonida would have its own properties, businesses, cars etc and nothing carries over from San Andreas, except maybe clothes (but even those don't have to). So in effect, you'd be starting over again but just maintaining your character from the current Online. Then, when you fly back to San Andreas, from Leonida, you'd get have all your stuff there that you had accumulated. Presumably, at least initially, you'd have to buy GTA 6, to get access to the new Leonida location in Online. Furthermore, they don't even have to update the graphics of San Andreas if they don't want it because it will essentially still function as a separate game. For those that say, well I don't want to use my existing character; I want to start completely over again! You can do that now; you can have a second character! Maybe they'd expand it, so you can have say, 5 Online characters or something like that. I cannot for the life of me imagine a situation where everything (or some things like cash) would carry over into Leonida. It's just not going to happen. R* wants you to grind. At best, they're going to give you a free car (like the Duke o' Death) if you were a previous Online player. Even further into the future, presumably they're going to create Liberty State and then tie the three States together in the same way where you can fly back and forth between them at your leisure but they're effectively separate and distinct games.
IMO i think this is where the GTA Project Americas name can come in and it can be a whole new online GTA experience (brand new standalone, yet can include both VC and LS) to where they can explore with map expansion. But with the upcoming QoL updates, it can be likely that they may stick with the standalone GTA Online with the Fortnite-like upgrades. Real interested on what R* would do.
my theories: all the new functions they have added, such as career quests, gta+, gta online standalone are just tests to see if it will be worth implementing them on the next one too, I think that the next online one will only be called gta Online because on the rockstar site when you go to the games section and choose to see your stats online it will ask you which game you want to see, whether gta5 or gta6 so you won't have to change their name every time a new chapter of gta comes out, regarding the various functions recently added the quests of the career are perhaps a taste of what could be the introduction to the next online and the fact that they require several hours is reasonable given that there is still 1 year or more left before the release of gta6, then perhaps it is just a test and seeing that no one completes/discards them as an idea. the fact of a new beginning I agree with you, bringing back certain contents would be counterproductive, maybe there will be some content imported from gta 5 but all things will be new, perhaps after a certain number of years from the year the futuristic but balanced vehicles will return so as not to be op (like Oppressor mk3) then the fact that in the leaks there were 32 places could just be a temporary thing just to test the online (server this time and not Ptp?) it wouldn't make sense to limit yourself to 32 if the map will be double or more than the current one. now, the fact that it took so long is due to the fact that the last phases sometimes require more than years to develop the entire game, given that the game I say costs around 2 billion I think he wants to release it only when it is truly ready and flawless (maybe they were influenced by the cyberpunk drama) another thing, the idea that it could follow in the footsteps of provided seems unlikely to me, perhaps in the future new cities will be added in desolate places (provided they are real in the leak) obviously only online. gta+ will probably be in the next online for those who want a peak boost at the beginning so now they are seeing which contents are used in the current online so as to make it more attractive by removing what is not used. Now I think the fact of the separate game is just a case of GTA 5 because now after 10 years and the people who have already played it on PS3/PS4/PC don't want to buy the included story again (full price) so I'll just take the 'online because it costs less, in the new one it will be integrated because at release it will probably be in the game but not accessible for the first month or more, so as to give people the necessary time to learn the new mechanics and get to know the world, then after it will be unlocked obviously there won't be all the content and you won't be able to transfer old progress, perhaps as happened with rdr2 if you have completed specific missions/heists/activities they will give you an exclusive reward if you connect with the same social club and it could probably connect to future updates so that the history of the online is connected between each new addition and not to themes as already happens in the current online which break the "immersiveness" effectively making it much more arcade, in fact it is no coincidence that every time we see some cut scene we can't wait to skip it because we are not interested in the "story/explanation" because it is not connected with the character's journey, my ideas are these I hope I have given the idea and explained my theories well
It could be that when u buy gta 6, u will get an option to move your gta online profile, maybe your character will travel to vice city on a plane, aiming for a new start after something happened in los santos or something
@@coreywilliam8474 I don't think they'll just update gta online with gta 6's graphics and physics for free, and it would suck if u would have to buy both the new gta and the new online separately, but for the story on why our character would move to vice city I'm expecting some trolling, aliens or some shit that caused our character to move out and start from scratch
Engine overhaul with an option to fly between LSIA and Escobar International. LS items (exception of clothes, accessories etc) stay in LS, and vice versa. They're not going to miss the opportunity of shark cards for GTAVI by allowing previous GTAO LS items to carry into VC.
I think that its possible for gta online could have the GTA 6 graphics improvement and also have the GTA 6 map with los santos to travel from 1 map to the other, however I see this to be too good to not have any flaws, probably server problems and size problems
I mean is it doable It is Cayo perico showed how it can be done would that make sense I mean im guessing rockstar doesn't want people to take their money with them to a new map So it's one of those this would be insanely cool but we need to be realistic and say never happening
This is so confusing to think about lmao. Personally, I'd love to carry over, but only my character's appearance and story, not money or vehicles. Leave that in Los Santos with some big mission that has us 'lose everything', but obviously, we can still play it again like it's the first time or something. I'd love for in the main menu, there'd be Los Santos (current GTA Online) and Vice City (new, upgraded GTA Online) and keep them completely separate yet connected by the character, so we can still play both games. I love what we have now and this next DLC looks like I'm gonna want to replay it a lot so... here's hoping.
another thing they could be doing is making a gta online launcher where you could choose to either play the gta5 map or choose the gta6 map but its all under 1 game title, it would encourage people to get gta+ because they can get the perks of gta+ in both gta5 and gta6 online maps
you will have the option to select which gta online (eg which city) you load into. For now. If there ever will be a gta 7 etc, they will prob have a lot bigger/different kind of online modus, as the technology might have advanced so far by then(AR, deep dive etc)
My guess is the final update will see our character get caught by a bunch of our enemies (merryweather, the lost, the law etc) and has to leave immediately without any of their stuff. So in the last cutscene our online character hops on a plane to Vice city, completely fresh.
Heres the thing. Rockstar is almost always a disappointment. They will do the cheapest but most money making option. They make such great games but horrible business decisions. So as for Gta online, Expect to be disappointed, but have some hope they will actually do something good.
For me the best thing would be if they make it all connected... You go to airport and fly away (like to perico) into the other town. So you get a lot... And not lose anything...👍🏼 You could have one bank account, and invest and spend money anywhere you like. And with this new interactive menu car transfer options, you can buy car in Vice city and drive it in Los Santos... So many great things they can do for comunity. 😎
Aight TGG I have a really good theory about the michael returning to gta thing thats been going on, what if michael returns in gta 6 as a mentor for the protagonists in the campaign/main game, almost like what lester is but instead michael does one or two heists with you and then after that he leaves the crime business up to you but in the end of the game michael is in trouble and is in need of help by the protagonists and mabey franklin and trevor make an unexpected return for one last time to help michael but things go wrong and michael gets shot, after that the screen fades black and rolls the credits and after the credits the protagonists are next to michaels grave😮
One side of RDO and GTO that humbles other game developers is the fact that even if you have thousands of hours gaming time under your belt, there is still stuff that all of sudden can be discovered. Like you are doing something and suddenly you discover something new you can do or certain ways you or the NPC interact in the world. It warms me every such tiny new discovery. ☺️ I am just wondering if these are the last R* titles carrying such level of details with this new money milking🤢 management 😲
I think they’ll just make the current version of gta online a legacy version and it will basically be like a huge update that probably will restart our characters
I didn’t even know about the career progression thing. Guess I have work to do. Some of the things added to Online now could be trails. See how community like it. Test out bugs. Before taking what they want into 6. GTA6 launches without online. Some time passes and my guess is you’ll be able to travel from current online world to the new one. But you can’t take all your stuff/money? I agree on the fresh start. New game. New mode. New everything. I would be at some point old online and new online would be able to be merged.
Like you said i think it will be a warzone 2 situation you start from scratch in vice city with new different content exclusive to gta 6 yall got to remember GTA IV had an online mode they're ginna do the same thing they did going from 4 to 5 and completely move in to a new engine and new game
It would be so cool if we could carry our characters from GTAV to the new game…It would give a real sense of familiarity and continuation, The fact that the character you’ve been playing for years is now in the next game, Giving them voices would be insane as well, They’ve put time and money into this game so it’s not out of the realm of possibility to think that they will be updating the online experience 10 fold.
I would love a fresh new online game for gta 6 I wasn't there for the start of gta 5's online mode. So i had a lot to play with and also catch up to. I just want a fresh start so that I can enjoy the grind all over again
We’ll start fresh. My hope is they allow us to port our current characters looks over thats all i want out of it. Dont mind if they do map updates and map upgrades on it
I’m assuming they’d just give the loading screen option of spawning in the Los Santos or Vice City maps. Sorta like Destiny where you choose a destination map for your player to spawn into.
I don't know i hope you get a reoffender bonus or something for moving over, like a couple $M in game or a house and car or something that youd actually want. Maybe have it like a witness protection thing and move your character without any assets
Id say they might go the route call of duty went, where they have an app something similar to call of dutys "call of duty hub" where you can choose if you want to play MW2 multiplayer or MW3 multiplayer, i think Rockstar will turn the stand alone GTA Online App into something like that where you can choose at the main menu if you want GTA 5 Online or GTA 6 Online
Might be a thing wear yes it's standalone but you can prob use the airport or something to fly/fast travel to vice city but upon doing so you have to start over like real life, you can't take your stuff with you but you can take all your money with you (or maybe you can't) so that way GTA online just continues standalone and new mechanics can be introduced
I would want gta online to have an option when you start the game that allows you to choose between the gta5 map with all your current progress and the gta6 map where you start from the begining.
I hope GTA 6 online DOES come out and I hope that rather than futuristic vehicles that are too overpowered we get something like balanced mech suits that would definitely be strong but very expensive and with a cooldown, similar to the AST's from call of duty advanced warfare
I hope they make a new online experience. Firstly because I want everyone to start from scratch and have a more immersive experience at least in the beginning, you know, without flying motorcycles that shoot homing missiles, and secondly some technical aspects of the current GTA online are horrendous, loading times and modders/cheaters for example.
I think it would be cool if yeah we start fresh but we can some how play as our original online character from this gta online and in the beginning of gta 6 online our character gets on a plane and move to the main part of gta 6 map
I think they will add on a double world to GTA online like they did in previous games. Remember in the original gta games u had to really grind to open additional bridges & stuff , so I wouldn’t be surprised
If this was the case maybe they could have a cutscene for when you update the game your apartment gets raided by the FIB which they could then use as plot line for why you're in Vice City with your character wiped.
I expect GTA 6 releasing with story mode only, a year or 2 later they will release GTA 6 Online, probably. Businesses will probably stay for the better, but they really need more depth and need to be fun.
I dont think its likely to stay same online, cause releasing new online would make more money (people would have to buy it (probably includes with next gta but still)) and starting fresh would probably boost shark card sales because more people would have nothing again and some part of them would buy shark cards
I think they should make it to where you can use both maps... I.e. make actual use of the airport.. so you can travel from ls to vice city... And when GTA VII drops add LC to the travel list. Have property and cars In respective places
They could make it to where all vehicles you own in San Andreas are not available in Vice City so you would have to buy the car in Vice City. That would keep things new for players so they have to play the game and we all know Rockstar will carry Shark Cards over so it benefits them. The can also have the rank specific to location. It is reputation so we have a lot of rep in San Andreas, but not in VC.
in my opinion i think there will be isolated gta 6 online game but it will be released after gta 6 .. so what they doing now in gta online make sense if the new gta 6 online game released 2 years from now
gta 6 online sounds good or map expansion would also be pretty cool imo, if better graphics etc and mechanics but the ideal would be a whole new game, i wanna have the same feeling as when i first played gta online
I really hope they don't just overhaul current GTAO, but now that you give some examples and really think about it, it actually makes sense that they would. When you think how many people have put thousands, tens of thousands of hours into GTA Online over the past decade, it would be hard for Rockstar to just wipe that away. Also with them buying the FiveM devs, maybe Rockstar want full control for when they overhaul GTA Online for 2.0, they can add RP to console?? Who knows. Either way if they are going to keep current GTA Online character and progress, they must heavily restrict or remove a ton of things.
I would like to see the current online to be expanded to include the new gta6 maps. It would be nice to go to the air port or a yacht and travel to the different maps. Like all the maps yankton, cayo, liberty city, vice city.
The new maps that are in GTA6 will be the map expansions that come to Online. You will be able to take character and money to the new cities but properties and vehicles will remain in your Los Santos city. You can fly back and forth but only new content will come onto the new map.
Grand Theft Auto Online 2 could he a potential idea. Just like you mentioned, if they do that it'd be a better business plan because if they keep GTAO2 as GTAO's game, you won't need to redownload it or buy a new mode. That's somewhat realistic I think, but it's just my thoughts, Rockstar are quite bipolar 😂❤ Nice video though buddy, keep up the great content ❤🎉
I think a more likely explanation for R*’s continued support and development of GTAO is that GTA6 is still roughly 1-1.5 years away from releasing, that’s a long time for no new content release and as long as it is making money for R*, why shouldn’t they continue to do so. Plus all this GTA6 hype is definitely gonna pull some veterans that haven’t touched GTAO in years back in, more content means more player retention and a bigger hype train for when GTA6 does drop. This is just my opinion however, but I really hope the next GTA online is a fresh start with no transfer of content from GTAV online, can’t wait for a fresh start.
I want a continuation of GTA online. More specifically I want your character to get an offer "insert for whatever" and go Los Santos Airport and board a flight..... boom cut scene you are now landing in Vice City and get a hood thrown over your head and thrown into a van. "for whatever reason they need but," you go under a plastic surgeon's knife and have to remake your character as you are forced into this new crime world and have lost everything. At some point you are able to fly back to los santos (updated to the new engine) and continue your current progression from Vice City online with easter eggs to your former contributions to the criminal underworld.
I think there will be a transition period between V Online and VI Online. Where RSG will support both games with updates for six or twelve months. Once VI Online’s DLCs get larger in size then V Online will be sunsetted. Still getting the usual stuff like bonus event months and holiday events.
Interesting, never thought about this topic tho, but gta 6 will release with whole new features from core level i think it will be hard to make those changes to gta online, so let's Wait until Dec 5
GTA 6 Online will be a completely 'fresh start' for all players, apparently. According to one source, GTA VI's online component will be a fresh start and will not carry over save data from the current GTA Online
They really need to do something about all the cheaters/modders on PC if they want the game to take off. They literally have 90s era security rn. Like unironically worse than what games had 20 years ago. The game is just a meme at that point. But if they do it right tho, I could see this game being huge on PC.
If we can keep the servers separate and travel in between, that’ll be cool. I really appreciate what i built with my effort over the years and would still like to maintain it. Really give in to the “ultimate kingpin” essense.
GTA Online 2 is a horrible name. I really wonder what Rockstar will do.
Thanks mate
They'll call it gta online and kill the current gta online.
@@hyek2.0
Good. We need a gta game where killing online players actually has consequences and there's no flying bikes
@idunnowhatname That would be borderline illegal. People bought in-game currency and items. They can't just delete them, Rockstar's reputation would be permanently ruined.
@@itsyaboizakyreebad take. gtao is a pvp game.
You never know what developers are planning, but I do think they would disappoint millions of players if they do not have an isolated, new Online mode for GTA 6.
I agree. I've been thinking about this topic for years now. I genuinely don't know how they'll handle this.
The Story, or sometimes called Multiverse only changes from:
2D:
Grand Theft Auto
Grand Theft Auto: London 1969
Grand Theft Auto: London 1961
Grand Theft Auto 2
Then it changes into 3D:
Grand Theft Auto III
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Grand Theft Auto Advance
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
And then into HD:
Grand Theft Auto IV
The Lost and Damned
The Ballad of Gay Tony
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
Grand Theft Auto V
Grand Theft Auto Online
And soon to be GTA 6.
Like when you go Online perhaps you can Choose which "map" or City to start in like
Options:
Location 1: Los Santos
Location 2: Vice City
etc etc.
I would defenitly love this aprouch and maybe this way i could finaly deside to spend monney on them😅
Besides the airports would not be so intresting if its only meant for point south to west traveling.

I imagine R would probably just do a MASSIVE GTA Online update, and as you said, the airport/ Galaxy super 🛥️ would act as 🧭 hubs so we may travel from 🗺️ to 🗺️.

Thank you for this video TGG, and hopefully Rockstar sees this and listen to you.🙏
They probably won't bro, most of those cars they will have to update that will take a lot of work
Nope, it’s gonna be a brutal cash grab and putting as many things behind a paywall as possible
Gta + is trying to exist beyond just gta v so it will definitely back in gta 6
GTA plus subscription or no online play
I highly doubt they will add a "GTA+ 2"
6: GTA Online Multiverse...
Love you TGG!
Hey TGG I love your videos I was wondering if you could do post videos on time not a cool cool yeah
Would this be cool hell yes
Is it actually something realistic rockstar will do
Fuck no
@kurtpunchesthings2411 it's a pipe dream for sure, but a while ago rockstar was talking about Project Americas and changing gaming completely. They probably gave up on the idea though if they didn't see enough dollar signs with it.
@@allentrevino3916 I mean I think your onto something if rockstar think it's profitable they'd probably do it maybe it is idk
That’s wack af
@@coreywilliam8474
I don't think they'll just update gta online with gta 6's graphics and physics for free, and it would suck if u would have to buy both the new gta and the new online separately, but for the story on why our character would move to vice city I'm expecting some trolling, aliens or some shit that caused our character to move out and start from scratch
I mean is it doable
It is Cayo perico showed how it can be done would that make sense I mean im guessing rockstar doesn't want people to take their money with them to a new map
So it's one of those this would be insanely cool but we need to be realistic and say never happening
Nah, let us leave los santos behind, they can add it in the future but for the beginning it should be completely new stuff
What's the point to keep the character we have if we are just restarting fresh? And I don't think they would let us keep stats either.
Heres the thing. Rockstar is almost always a disappointment. They will do the cheapest but most money making option. They make such great games but horrible business decisions. So as for Gta online, Expect to be disappointed, but have some hope they will actually do something good.
My personal opinion is they aren't going to drop Gta V online completely, But focus on putting the ideas from it to Gta 6 online
I like the idea except lowkey like the running joke of our character being a mute
U gotta be slow
what if rockstar makes a different application named GTA ONLINE and further we will be able to select Los Santos or Vice City from there?🤔
This is a cool idea!
@@TGG_ yeah.... gtaO will look more simple and organised
I would love a fresh new online game for gta 6
I wasn't there for the start of gta 5's online mode.
That's a good perspective and I won't be surprised to see it come true... Insanely genius thought...
I think it would be cool if yeah we start fresh but we can some how play as our original online character from this gta online and in the beginning of gta 6 online our character gets on a plane and move to the main part of gta 6 map
Fair points made here, we'll see what time brings.
Already a couple of years ago I wanted a fresh start, and hence I’m excited for GTA6(cuz new story etc) because of a clean slate for the online
That's somewhat realistic I think, but it's just my thoughts, Rockstar are quite bipolar 😂❤
Nice video though buddy, keep up the great content ❤🎉
Aye yo man’s really said it could wvolve when gta 7 and 8 come out. My man we will definitely never see a gta 8 that sht gonna come out in 2135
GTA 6 Online will be a completely 'fresh start' for all players, apparently. According to one source, GTA VI's online component will be a fresh start and will not carry over save data from the current GTA Online
One thing me and my friend agreed on is when it comes out we will raid what ever army base and joy ride a tank across the map
They really need to do something about all the cheaters/modders on PC if they want the game to take off. They literally have 90s era security rn. Like unironically worse than what games had 20 years ago. The game is just a meme at that point.
But if they do it right tho, I could see this game being huge on PC.
I would like a final cutscene where our character takes a flight to Vice City, and a screen pops up saying continue your adventure in Gta 6
If we can keep the servers separate and travel in between, that’ll be cool. I really appreciate what i built with my effort over the years and would still like to maintain it. Really give in to the “ultimate kingpin” essense.
