More glass pouring! Man that looked good and it really is a pleasure to watch your expertise. Well done, Dirt Boss!
Thanks buddy much appreciated!
Wow! I have been in construction for 21 years and am really blown away by the quality and attitude to your work, even when things don't work out sometimes. That is so hard to find now-a-days. We are about to pour a VERY similar job for my folks this weekend, but I've never really been a concrete guy so I was looking for tips. I am so happy I found this video. THANK YOU! Keep up the great work.
Thanks Jason yes subscribe to my channel check out my playlist under concrete videos I give a lot of tips on all my videos thanks for watching
You seem happier every time you do a concrete pour. Awesome to watch...as usual. Congrats on over 5,000 Subs. I knew your channel would start taking off. Wont be long and we will see 20k subs. I hope you will still have time for your tube the busier your season gets!
Thanks Teak concrete makes everybody happy!
Thanks for posting this! I needed the confidence your example gave me.

Nice job Big Guy! Love the sledge hammer swing 😘👍🏼☀️
Thanks babe!
I thought you'd have a new one in the works and you did. Of course, MICROSOFT decided to put updates into my computer as I clicked on your vid. So now @ 4:14am I get to thank you for this new one. Mike, our 'Big Guy', it's like a continuation of last fall with not a hitch to be seen (or spoken of) - just a 'nice a nice' or like my "noni" used to say, Bona Bona! Looking really good you guys as always. God bless, always! Sonny (CT)
Thanks Buddy appreciate it!
What a great video. Learned a lot. Good 👍 job! Thanks!
Thanks for watching
As a concreter of 42 years in Australia. When we pan the concrete we pass it 3 to 4 times one way then the other way then repeat it again and trowel the edges every hit for a better job.
9 ways to skin a cat I guess! As you know whether environment all play a part in the way you finish the Crete! Each pour is different if this was out in the hot sun we would hit the edge every time! Thanks
Nice and smooth but not too slippery to work on. Nice job.
It all depends it's nice if you have a creeper and to clean out
You are definitely in your element....concrete! I know you do a good job on everything, but its like watching someone play with family...
Lol concrete is my roots!
Great job 👍
that s what i want in my barn. looks great just need a section set up for a two post lift
Thanks man good luck
Great job thanks 😊
Thanks
very nice mike. if only we were closer....i have lots of concrete and mason work that needs done. hard to get anyone to work these days....
I hear ya brother!
Nice job Bud, Stay safe.
Thanks you too
the music at 8:30 was a nice touch lol, good work looks nice
Thanks
You make that look so easy want to come to Alabama and do my shop
Yes sir!
I need that done to my pole barn. Some day.
Yes it does make a difference
Wow, the Slush and Mush pour! Should be able to easily support the weight of a bicycle when cured.
Yeah yeah you got it!
Brings back memories ... best pours I've ever seen, sill crack free 8 years on. (crack free) haha !
Lol yup!
Nice work 👍
Thanks
Nice👍
Thanks Ted
Good job Mike, as usual. Stanley in Md.
Thanks Stan!
great job buddy
Thanks
Hey mike looks great ,can you use the power screeder both directions or is it better to stay the same direction
Yes both directions is fine.. but you are trying to pull the crrate so it's easier
I noticed in a previous video that your skid steer's bucket tilts from side to side. Was this on the machine when you bought it or did you add this feature?
It is an add-on it's an attachment between the bucket and the machine
do you worry about bowing out the skirt board when you pour it to the top of the skirt board on a pole barn. About to do a similar pour. I have been told to leave at 3 3/4 to the top of the skirt board. any tip would be great.
No it should be fine but you could put steaks in between your post on the outside to support or put some dirt up against it and then remove after
Use the pan twice to cross it.u would be surprised how much flatter your floors would be. I pan my floors 3 times
Got ya will give it a whirl!
AWESOME WORK! We had a cement contractor estimate our pole barn and he said we needed all those lines for cracks like a sidewalk has. I said why can't we just have it all one slab with no lines? What is your expert advice sir? He kept saying there's going to be cracks and the lines (whatever he called them) will limit the span of any cracks. I like the way you have it in one slab. Please advise.
No the next day we saw cut it for expansion joints you have to cut the concrete otherwise it will crack in all directions..
great video, only thing I'm confused on is you saying at 13:25 "you only use it one time on the first hit" then said at 17:20 took six hits to get it the way I liked it". I'm assuming that hits = a full pan use across the total surface area. So took you 6 hits with the pan till you found the smoothness you were looking for. Sound right?
No one hit with the pizza pan that goes on the bottom of the power trowel.. the other hits are just with the blade's
Nice job. Do you ever bring a bigger crew or do you like to keep tight with Nico and you?
Yeah I've had up to five guys it depends on the year & projects
Great job! How long in between hits?
All depends on temperature.. but this one was 40 minutes
Just wondering, how come no expansion joints on your floor? Would I need them on a 30 x 40 ? Thanks
Yes we saw cut them in the next morning
a couple of pours now, no vapor barrier. Is it not necessary where you are?
Only if it's living space it's code
Looks good my dude. Not had the pleasure of running a pizza pan. Lookin crispy 👀
Yes 🍕 the only way to go!
Dirt Boss Masonry & Excavating I’m personally partial to Pasta, but a good slice every now and again goes a long way😂. Nah, foreal though, does the pizza pan just hook onto the trowels on the bottom or is it an entirely different assembly?
@@tylerpittmon7936 yes it just hooks in easy peasy!
Baby sledge hammer!!
Yup its for little guys..
Great job. Where do you rent the tools?
Locally
I don't know where you are, is there frost in your area? I would like to do this but worry about heaving.
We have deep frost but there's nothing you're going to do about it concrete goes up and down It will be fine

Cement Truck Driver = 😵WTF? (First Day On the Job?)
I was thinking the same thing when he completely filled up the wheelbarrow and then ran it over.
What’s a job like this run now a days
I’m guessing you didn’t have to dig footers because the weight of the structure is supported by the poles
Yes I did not build the barn but I believe there is concrete sona tubes that the poles sit on.
You really have all the tools and equipment. How long have you been in business?
my whole life but on my own 15 years masonry 10 years Excavating thanks
Dirt Boss Masonry & Excavating thanks for sharing keep up the good work
Was that a 4" pour? What type of concrete did you use?
4000 lb no air
what mix design and slump did you use?
4000lb regular stone no air on this one.
No need for the wheel barrow. Have the driver spin the drum as fast as he can, guarantee the concrete hits the back wall. Just need someone strong on the shout to swing it over
Yeah I hear you maybe at a 7 slump
We got away from using wire. We use fiber in the concrete. Saves on labor and more durable over time.
Time is money.
Mike I use both here and there The customer requested wire on this one.
Ya I hear ya.
What is the pan thing under the power trowel? I’ve never seen one
What it does it helps take out all the highs and lows and imperfections in the floor before you hit it with the blades.
Dirt Boss Masonry & Excavating oh neat! I’m gonna have to buy one and try it on my next pour
@@rosscornwell2117 definitely they're well worth the investment they're only 150 bucks maybe.. And you won't believe how flat the floor comes out!
Hopefully I've earned your subscription!! Lol thanks
Dirt Boss Masonry & Excavating Subscribed!
We had a concrete on the laser what hell lol
Oh yeah
When is a vapor barrier required?
Vapor barrier is required when it is living space
@John Monday to control the moisture
Oh nevermind, I didn't see the extra shout attached
Lol No worries 👍🏼
Use the pan until you can’t use it anymore. Not for only 1 hit
Usually one hit for me not going to wear it out seems to be super flat !
Control joints?
Yes I saw cut it off each pole & one down the center
So you look like you could use more help??? What state you out of???
Albany NY
dont run over thisone or was it dirt perfect
Lol
you looked unprepared for the job
Yup if you listen to the video I just thought the door was high enough for the truck to drive into so yes you are correct
What kinda accent is that you got ?
NY
Omg you guys don't know what you're doing neither does the friggin truck driver!
Good grief 🙄 😳
Yes we're rookies first job
Absolutely painful to watch
But yet you're still watching 😂😂😂😂
