@@linusovery-smith4246 I guess is because it's easier to censor, like you can delete the kiss between 2 women and most people will still think they're friends even if they hold hands or say corny things to each other because that's "how women are" and with men it's different because holding hands is already gay enough for people to go crazy.

5:05 for people confused since you have to get a bit into Miraculous Ladybug to get it Julika and Rose are defo a thing but it’s not in show cannon because vocalising it / showing it in a way hard to cut tends to be something showrunners leave until after they’re at least syndication length in. a show that works with Disney and international markets usually won’t even then not until they know the IP wrapping up. Kissing on the cheek platonically is more of a thing in France so they can get it through censors more easily but I don’t blame anyone who doesn’t realise they’re a thing especially if they’re not that far into the show.
They’re not the only couple in the show stuck in now homo limbo as Nathaniel and Marc are in the same boat of the longer they coexist the more they hint but in a way a homophobic parent can still write them off as besties who just really like rainbows because art.

I’m a 2010’s kid and I grew up with most of these shows (yes, my best friend and I saw the Helluva Boss pilot episode back when we were 9 and loved it) and my mom is like “since when did they have so many gay people in kids shows? It’s disgusting! They should go back to how it was when you were little!” And is so funny seeing her contradict herself. She just never noticed because it was so subtle. I grew up watching Clarence, the loud house, etc and never questioned why their parents were gay. I just thought it was normal or didn’t care. That’s how it should be. All people, no matter what skin color, sexuality, religion, or gender should all just be treated as people. This is all coming from a 14 year old mind you. It’s shocking to me that I’m more level headed than some people 4 or 5 times my age
