Cheers Dave. My inconsistency has driven me mad for years , but I know from years of playing that I do have the potential of being a top bar darts player . This will get me there I am sure. Ta muchly . I subbed !
After being a decent player 25 years ago, I tried to come back playing, couldn't throw a dart to save my life !!!! Just watched this, set up to the board, and constantly grouped the darts around the Bull. Thank you very much Dave, hoping to get back into the game through Online darts.
I always learn something new with every coaching video you do Dave. Thanks!
Any player rocking his PJs at the oche is a winner in my book
again, awesome video dave! i watched it twice. thankyou.
I know this is an old video but I recently watched it and realized that I am also bringing back the dart in front of my face and not next to it and my throwing feels better now, been practicing this for a few days and today threw my first 180 whoohoo thanks Dave.
The Dynamite Dave way has been developed over years in a mechanical way to make it easy efficient accurate and easy to repair when something goes ring buddy take it all on and become a formidable Darts player. 👍🎯🎯🎯👍😎
Absolutely FANTASTIC video!!
Cheers Fella I love the game and I love to help its the best feeling ever when someone accredits me with a big achievement for them like there first 180 or ton plus finish the buzz is awesome.
You're so spot on with that bringing the dart to the side of your face suggestion. I used to think it was more important to line the dart up with my eye and I threw like that for years, constantly hitting myself in the face because I have short arms like you. When I switched to the side of my face a year and a half ago it felt weird at first, but it got rid all that nonsense instantly and my darts fly much straighter now. Not always accurate, but definitely straighter haha
If Fred is left eye dominant he'll have to ask Bobby George. Great video and advice. I've realised my throw needs work and it is quite difficult to change your bad habits but I'm slowing things down and things are coming along now.👍
Dave, you are great coach! Thank you, Sir.
Hi Thanks helping other players is my passion and is very rewarding for me.
Thanks Dynamite Dave...
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I make about the same mistakes as the gentleman in the video, this i can work with! Already throwing better darts!!
Great advice!
Thanks Dave. I hail from Canada and got into the game recently. My 8 year old son loves it and likes your vids as well. Excellent point about taking your arm off to the side. I have seen other people's videos and they havent really focused on this. I havent had a throw yet, but just by looking in the mirror, this should improve a few things down my journey. :)
Great video as usual really appreciate your hard work.
love the intro dave!!! great work!!
Thanks buddy I love doing them it takes a good while but I think its worth it I try to find obscure new tunes that are catchy to
Dynamite Dave...
Great video mate. Interesting points there I need to take note of too!
Amazing tutorial again Dave, loved watching this one as I throw from the center of my face and this would explain why they always drop low. Super video once again.
Blocking your vision can never be a good thing its like playing with one eye shut or blocked and means the other eye has to be dominant otherwise you wouldn't hit the board at all. Now if you have an eye condition then that's a different story but we are binocular vision animals and see in 3D blocking one eye means you become monocular and see in 2D this reduces your depth perception Ie your ability to assess the distance between you and the board making you more muscle memory than target orientated. cheers Dynamite Dave...
Thanks Fred for putting yourself out there with this lesson👍
Dart to the side of your face!
Interesting?
Off to the dart board to (again) to give this a go!
Cheers Dave!
I’m improving! I’ve now closed out in 501 in six! 😁😁😁😁
That a real good standard 18 dart legs will win you most games buddy.
Just subscribed today, i throw from my eye, going to test this out. Cheers
Thanks Dave. Your suggestions are really appreciated. I came to a point where I was not improving as expected. I have had to re-learn my stance and delivery based on your suggestions and I am confident that it will feel more comfortable as time goes by. I tend to slip into my old habits when I get nervous in league play but hope this will improve with practice.
Eye dominance thing, comes from snooker, and pool playing.
People probably take that from snooker and pool, and apply it to darts.
For some reason, snooker, and pool requires one eye to be dominant, so maybe humans took that and thought it applies to darts.
Fascinating, how you show that for darts, both eyes are important.
Great video!
Great video mate, keep up the good work
Great video
I need a bit more consistency in my throw, so will try some of the tips listed in this video. I need something that will hold up during a match. I would say to start with you should setup in front of a mirror, that way you can get a feel for looking forward, and aiming straight with your arm. I'll let you know how it goes. Keep up the good work Dave.
Dave fantastic video i did a front vid to send you but i throw exactly like fred does so working on changes as i type
Great advice. I'm still working on my throw but already I have found that throwing from the side of my head makes my darts go straighter. It also gives me more power with less effort.
That's bang on buddy it all ties in longer swing = more time to think more power for a slower arm speed to achieve the same target it all buys you that extra split second to adjust or abort the throw then re-set and throw again. cheers D Dave...
@@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn...greetings.
Thanks plenty Dave for your encouragement and advice.
I apologize if you've mentioned this before.
But...
I noticed at the 10:30 that your back foot was slightly of the ground. I read 60/40 weight distribution, 60% on the front foot.
What's your opinion on lifting of the back foot when playing, please Dave?
Cheers.
@@norman-gregory No your right to bring that up you probably dont know that I have a Replacment knee on the right leg and with having the nerves muscle and soft tissue cut and re stitched during the op not to mention the fact they manged to drill through the side of my bone I cant feel the bottom of my right leg very well. So I some times it is not in the right place, 9 times out of ten I look down and get it right but some times I dont. Cheers D Dave...
@@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn...greetings.
Thanks big fella for replying.
You're a gem...Dave.
I didn't realise mate, you've had trouble with your right knee ( I hope the cold weather don't give you problems).
I'd like to say...thanks for your humour and advice, you're a terrific fella, and I hope you enjoyed the UK Open.
I know watching the highlights on PDC on CZcams...has been great.
I'm glad Michael won... he's a great ambassador for the sport ( considering his winning strike in finals of late hasn't been...well, let's just say...not Van Gerwenish )...the flip side, if he'd been winning alot, then Gerwyn Price to win.
You know...share the honey about a bit.
Anyway thanks champ...yep Dave.
Dynamite Champ Dave Llewellyn...hey we might be onto something here.haha.
Have a great day and week ahead.
Cheers from Australia.
Good video mate.
Wow never seen a darts help video b 4 , well done u, never had a 180, on my bucket list l. O. L thanks 🙏👍🙏
Stick with me buddy loads of my fans have nailed that one and the three figure outshot. I also have a few household names with me here and on my other platforms like John lowe Ronnie huybrechts and his son. Russ bray the caller.and my latest one is the comontator john Gwynne.
@@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn many many thanks had many 140s just never cracked the 180, brill Job👍
Dave is a legend
Can I just say lads n lasses this is tailored to Fred and his problems I only post these in the hope someone who has similar problems may recognise them and the tips may help them.
I believe people are missing the point for your advice to move the aim to side instead of in front of face as that's probably what is keeping him from extending his follow through. I think you're spot on for his advice.
Nice Coaching Video For Fred And Hope He Does It Right👍
Hi Charlie mate.
If Fred sticks to it he will do just fine and see big improvements in a couple of weeks. and congrats on your recent win buddy well played... D Dave...
thank you David, i loved your video's. i train about 2 hours a day, i hit big numbers most of the time. my fustration is, i can't stop hitting one's. i call myself the "one man" my right hand seems to cock to the right. i don't know how to correct it or make it better? any advice
dave, one thing i dont understand about throwing with your hand to the side of your face (not in front of the eye) is how do you aim your darts? just by feel alone?
hi dave, me again, this gent has a similar throw as me except i am right eye dominant and i hold my dart in front of my eye so i can see the target.. i found i couldn't aim the dart at throwing the way you suggested, could you help?
Thanks for the instructions. Why did you end the video by throwing the darts left handed? Also, while my right eye is dominant, I throw my darts left handed. Is that wrong? All my life, I have favored my left hand for some activities and my right hand for others. At my age, it would be very difficult to switch my dart throw with any accuracy. Thanks.
Well Jerry I can throw right handed but not over my very expensive camera I'm not that brave.😀😀😀 I have changed one gentleman's throw who is 72 years old and started playing in the 50s and to be frank he would tell you now he was poo. Really really poo Now on the DD program he throws a good 55 to 60 three dart average. And wins lots of league games. It's amazing to see. He takes off his flat cap scarf and cardigan and chucks in a 140 the people's faces are priceless.
ovenstar1 Hi buddy you get this from time to time I think they have nothing better to do there usually the sad type who have no friends and feel the need to lash out at people who do and enjoy improving there game and having fun. I just picture them on there mums couch banging away on there key board and something in there lap.
The move your arm out way i dont understand you move the forearm and now its off line from the board ,vertical arm lines up but moving away from eye now out of line
Great video Dave did you ever take a crack at q school ?
I have done a few opens in the past and won a few bob along the way and I will be doing it again when new knee is installed I will be doing the UK open again to Or I mite go the BDO route.
I am trying to build up the channel and the personal coaching to a point I can go part time at work at the moment I am on nights so I cant play for county or even local pub. It will come and helping others is a better feeling than winning a match for me but I mite have to do a couple of pro seasons to boost my finances and public awareness so I can go full time. cheers Dynamite Dave...
@@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn hope it works out for you love to see someone follow their dream who knows lakeside next year
You coached Charles Bronson?
Great video dave. Quick question. You say pull the dart back to the side of your cheek? When you watch most top players they seem to pull the dart back in line with there eye. If I try that I have no power in my through. Will practice your tips in the video.
hi buddy you dont need power just enough for the dart to get where it needs to go as I say you need to persevere with it nothing works straight away increase your arm speed a little to give you a bit more poke if you feel you need it then decrease it as you grow in confidence. cheers D Dave...
@@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn dave just wanted to say thanks for the tips in this video. Spent an hour the last two nights and already getting more 60's and 80's. Love the tip about saluting and pointing with two fingers. You make it sound so much sense.
This video is great. 3rd day in got a 180 and just missed d10 for a 140 out shot. For me this is much better. Don't understand why some comments are so negative. As you say take it or leave it. Keep it up cheers dave

@@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn comments aren't negative. People just have a difference of opinion. I think your videos are excellent by the way. Very informative and easy to follow. But some players are left eye or right eye dominant. Phil Taylor is left eye dominat and Gary Anderson is right eye dominant. Do you not recommend throwing from the dominant eye? Keep up the good work 👍
Lowe,Taylor, mvg, ando, none of these throw frm the side of there face ,it's what suits the individual
Quite obviously you dont grasp what personal means Fred is not John Lowe (who by the way follows this channel) Taylor or MVG this video is tailored to Fred not you.
Fred's physiology may not be the same as yours but may be similar to others and others if you read the comments have said it has transformed there throw in days so its working for some.
Do you know something if it helps one player improve that's good enough for me.
And as stated in all my videos its subjective so take it leave it if you are a poor player and are happy with being poor and it suits you and of course you know best then crack on you stay comfortably poor.
However we are looking for something better.
@@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn everyone is different no 2 players throw the same,I've played county darts so I'm quite capable,
Thank you Dave. Just hit my first 180. Did my best Russ Bray impersonation. Also my doubles practice routine has improved.
That's great to hear fred mate it's always awesome when it starts to all come together.👍👍🎯🎯👍👍😎😎

I thought I would give you an update. I've had my ups and downs. More ups than downs though. My biggest accomplishment was I had a chance at a 12 darter. Nerves got to me and it was a 15 darter. God bless. Be safe. Stay indoors and throw darts everybody.
