Literally every single interview with ARK invest, the interviewer tries to sneak in some short term stock FUD, and Ark Invest responds the exact same way every time: they only evaluate this stock on using a Long-term perspective, they do not care about the short term.

Exactly. Long term is the only real way to make serious money. Short term, even when you are up, there is the lovely capital gains to service with your "winnings". Expecting to make a lot of money in the short term is like expecting an amazing dinner with impeccable service... at the airport.

@@macioluko9484 There is no "engaging argument" in mentioning after hours stock and options trading activity and trying to draw conclusions about the company based from that, especially while interviewing an analyst who specializes in researching long-term company fundamentals. Look at the title in the beginning: "Tesla Slumps off of 1Q Earnings", that is a prime example of unnecessary diction that imposes Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt. The reporter should be using her time more wisely to discuss things that actually matter.

How can apple sell a $1000 phone? Ask someone that question 2 decades ago.
Elon believes the model y will be the most popular car in the world. It's not a cheap car compared to the current leader in that category the Toyota Corolla. People will be willing to pay more. FSD is a subscription service. Tesla sells energy products. They will have better margins. They are an innovation company, they will trade at a high multiple. Tesla owns a lot of the production and distribution. Currently car companies are inefficiently run and don't innovate, that's why they deserve a low multiple. It's apples and oranges.

So, I will buy an apple or an orange, and so the cash available to either is an opportunity cost, i cannot afford both. Either Tesla trades sideways or down for a long time for its actual performance to catch up with its market performance. Ok so they have magical margin gains in the future , ok so they have energy infrastructure projects, ok so they get into insurance - it's like a magic trick talking to people about Tesla . They have their fingers in so many pies it's impossible to disprove the efficacy of each one, but it is all sales really, isn't it. In fact their profit so far is powered by a virtual monopoly on green credits in USA. They grew revenue by about 0.5 % over the first quatre compared to the previous year. And apparently there is going to be a shortage of microchips in the near team liming their capacity to grow quickly.
It has moved too far too fast, and like Spacex rockets, what goes up, must come down.

But the fact is credits aren't going away, they are actually increasing. The fact is people are willing to pay 1000 multiple today, they will be willing to pay 300 multiple in the future when TSLA is $3K. It doesn't matter if your think the price is outrageous. Tesla isn't going to stop growing and producing and people will continue to pay to see that growth. The ICE market is 97%. There's plenty of room for all who want to get onboard the EV train. Tesla is and will continue to be the leader in EV.
And their margins are magically better. They use less battery, get better mileage at lower cost. They have the safest car on the market. The vehicles already include the hardware for autonomous driving at no extra cost. Tesla sets the price for EVs. The others must follow. But they can't sell a competitive car. They have to cut the quality or increase the cost.

Honestly, this is verbatim the same interview she has given for 3 years now. Literally the same handful of talking points; all sizzle no steak. And yet the choir goes absolutely wild
Shame the interviewer couldn't ask about some of the elementary errors in their comically bad 3K note:
    - Randomly reduced the outstanding share count from 1.15bln to 1bln, implying no more cap raise and not taking share-based comp into account. When asked, they just said we will change the model to account for them doing buybacks...hundreds of billions worth of buybacks...OK sure
    - Going from zero in insurance biz to 40bln by 2025, with 40% margins 3x the industry leader in auto insurance biz. This implies that they would be taking in something like 3x the average annual policy cost/vehicle. No allowance for capital provisions in their model, which just shows that they have no clue about the insurance industry just Tesla has data...
    - Still building 'ride-sharing network' revenue into their bear case, which the company has shown no interest in building out
    - Absurd assumptions on robo taxi, something which doesn't exist today.
Not to mention typos and getting basic figures wrong. This is like their franchise call and that they would put out such a garbage piece of research speaks volumes about their credibility
