The previous winners are going head-to-head in a demolition derby on the Battle of the Beaters championship. The teams are making their modifications to their crapcans to see which one can build the ultimate demolition derby weapon. Which team do you think made the best modifications?
Can you buy and build a race car for $1000? Matty Blake hosts Battle of the Beaters, in which we see if two teams can do exactly that. In this first of three parts, the teams set out to find the right cars for the job. Only when they've spent the money and tested their cars can they find out if their rides will do the trick.

Agreed with the many other comments. A hole in the radiator is way too much of a disadvantage. That size hole will empty in no time. I run and build derby cars professionally and have the largest derby channel here on youtube.

People who don't run derby cars don't understand how hot these cars can get and the radiator is almost as important as the strength. If you get hit up front your mass air flow sensor will collapse and and them it will send an auto shut of to the car. It was a safety feature but it is tough in derby cars. 

really all they had to do to fix the leak in the radiator was get a can of long cut chew and dump it in have done it to two of my cars and it has saved me like this episode I have a 76 marquis with the 460 going to be fun

Thats not the radiator that came out of that car. That was a Dodge radiator they put a hole in and not a Ford radiator. So far all I see is fail in this episode. You cant fool a real derby guy.

Maybe it's just me, but I think that "advantage" thing really sucks, especially in this episode. A hole in the radiator is way too much, way overboard. Their fate is obviously already decided. The whole purpose of a show like this is to create a competitive atmosphere where the victor is unknown. To mindlessly sabotage a vehicle so completely just eliminates ANY question of who will win, thus ruining the appeal of the show. I for one will not be interested in watching any more. Re think!

The host erroneously referred to the people participating in this particular event as "car nuts" which is not the correct term to use for these people here in this case. Anyone that thinks of themselves as a true auto enthusiast or "car nut" if you will would not in their right mind participate in something as retarded as a Demolition Derby which is solely based on taking nice useful old cars and purposely destroying them like a bunch of retarded toddlers that are too stupid and immature to understand and care about the value of things but see fit to carelessly waste them instead such as taking part in an event such as this as an example. A true auto enthusiast or "car nut" if you want to call them that don't waste nice useful cars by purposely smashing them up and get a sick enjoyment out of doing so like a bunch of depraved retards.
