Wow -- your mac easily creates it for you. After I type in my 3rd party (acuity) it says go to system preferences, then Mac ID -- and then nothing happens........Your way looks great -- just wish it worked on my mac. Not sure if things changed since you made the video a year ago or what.........
I'm struggling with the exact same issue right now. Instead of generating an ID, it asks me to continue on one of my devices going into system settings -> AppleID. However, when I do that, nothing happens.
when I tried to make an app specific password for Whatsapp and then went back to Whatsapp, it didn’t ask for the password. I may be misunderstanding what an app specific password is but I can’t find a clear cut definition online

Just found a fix. I made a comment above. It was easy and it works. I found it on the Apple community page.

Unfortunately you can't look it up. All you can do it create another one. ☹️
