    Ah yes, the traptrix labrynth bully. This has been a thing before the update, but now, it is even funnier lmao. Traptrix just stomps on labrynth and it is hilarious. I beat a labrynth dude going 2nd and I kinda bricking that game.

      @@nightowl9269 yeah they don’t have any synergy. Traptrix engine can kind of work by itself but it doesn’t further labyrinths win condition and Labyrinth also locks out non fiend extra deck monsters.

    As someone that plays and adores both archetypes, well done. Too many still see Trix as inferior to Lab.

    • @WhimsEve
      @WhimsEve  Před 11 měsíci +19

      It’s not hard to see why many would consider Labrynth to be superior to Traptrix. I do too. Labrynth is simply the best trap deck in YGO and all their competitive success proves that. And they will get even better once Arias is released.
      Having their core identity revolve around trap holes is what’s holding Traptrix back. No matter how amazing or broken the new support is, you’ll still have to run the trap holes.

    • @aeirie-ii1993
      @aeirie-ii1993 Před 11 měsíci +9

      The fact lab can search any normal trap while trix limited to hole card what make people think lab more superior than trix although i think trix have better monster card than lab.

    • @MysticEle
      @MysticEle Před 11 měsíci +3

      @@WhimsEve Perhaps but as a counterpoint the fact the Trix can play under trap effects that would cripple the Lab strategy (Evenly, the Virus cards, etc) means that while one is better on offense, the other is much more resilient and tougher to stop once it gets going.
      Basically each has half the equation.

    • @WhimsEve
      @WhimsEve  Před 11 měsíci +11

      @MysticEle Yeah, Traptrix normally will have a favorable match up against most Lab decks since many of the ones I've seen rarely run or don't run enough trap cards that can get rid of the normal summon immediately. But another reason why Traptrix is still seen as inferior is that Lab isn't and won't be the best deck in the format. It may be super popular right now in MD since it just got released, but there will be stronger, more meta decks like Kashtira, Super Heavy Samurai, and Purrely. And because Lab can fight against those decks more comfortably than Traptrix, it is the superior deck.
      If the meta was more focused around trap cards, then obviously, Traptrix would be at the top of the list. And if anything, I think instead of focusing on the "power" of Traptrix, I think people should praise it for being a trap deck that doesn't use any sort of degenerate strategy to win. They are pure interaction, resource management, and not oppressive. Supposedly, Traptrix should be what every YGO player wants a trap deck to be.

    • @MysticEle
      @MysticEle Před 11 měsíci +5

      @@WhimsEve I can agree with this. Still, the fact that Trix can hang with modern decks as well as it does is a testament of its abilities, so I'll still take pride in using the murder lolis. But glad to have another trap user to talk with, it's good to see a resurgence of us after they've been so stagnant in the game.

    Thus further proving that there are too many bad Labrynth players out there. Shotgunning Eradicator is a bad play. He even read his opponents hand with the other virus and still activated it too soon. The better play is to let the opponent set up and then break their board. Don't even get me started on that IDP play, holy hell.

    Impressive! I was thinking about starting to play Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel and I was thinking about starting with Traptrix but seeing the comments about it being inferior to the Labyrinth decks maybe I should start with a Salamangreat deck I think it was the name or the machina deck instead. I never played Yu gi oh before so I wonder if that would be a good idea but Traptrix looked like fun.

    • @WhimsEve
      @WhimsEve  Před 11 měsíci +2

      Yeah, I don’t recommend Traptrix until after you understand the weak points of a number the different meta and non-meta decks.
      The Salamangreat structure deck is probably one of the best ones, but Salamangreat by themselves are pretty meh unless you use other generic cyberse support.
      If you want the most bang for your buck, buy the Labrynth secret pack as Labrynth is easy to learn and will stay competitively viable for the foreseeable future. Even if you don’t play competitively, it’s still a good way for you to hold your own against strong decks to learn their strengths and weaknesses.

    Just did the same thing today. He drew eradicator turn 1, activated it on my turn, reset it, and activated it on turn 3, and I still won lmao
    Also he didn't know
    A: Sera and Raflesia share the same effect, he kept activating big welcome in the grave and targeting them lmao, and
    B: Time Thief with Trap material doesn't target, which won me the game, because I spun one of his Silver Ladies and had lethal on board.
    Super satisfying when this deck works.

    As a lab player,you don't tend to play that faster to just waste all your resources turn 1. Deck can establish an early game dominance, but die fast if not taken care of. Most of the traptrix players that got to face were the ones in a hurry, whereas I just with my resources try slowly establishing a solid board

    And that's why you play full force virus in lab you can also tribute Arianna and stovie

    • @WhimsEve
      @WhimsEve  Před 11 měsíci +1

      You can but the only meta deck you're dealing any real damage to with it is Spright, but you'll still leave them with either Carrot/Red if they had them in hand.
      Plus, running too many virus cards without getting the Labrynth field spell first will just leave you vulnerable.

    it all dependes on YOUR skill level. im a hardcore traptrix user. i ve been playing with it non stop since like a year ago, both physical and in MD, and i tell You: stomping over labrynth is easy, as well as kashtira, branded, héroes, all You need to know is where to interrupt. i also like and play labrynth a Lot, but i don't have the same skill level with it. thus My results are inferior to traptrix.

    @dungeaterss13 Před 10 měsíci

    Ive also never seen someone run traptrix and a full lab setup...i run one lady lab and one lord of heavenly abd thats like all i could actually fit in the deck

    • @WhimsEve
      @WhimsEve  Před 10 měsíci +1

      For Lab in Traptrix, you only need 1 Lovely, 3 Big Welcomes, and 1-3 Ladies. You would also have to reduce the Traptrix portion of your deck and any extraneous portions like Lord. Though, you wouldn’t need to run Lord in either Traptrix or Lab nowadays.

    • @WhimsEve
      @WhimsEve  Před 11 měsíci

      No, Holeutea is a trap card in hand and it did get destroyed by Eradicator. It’s only considered a monster after special summoning itself.

    • @dylanwong2939
      @dylanwong2939 Před 11 měsíci

    • @WhimsEve
      @WhimsEve  Před 11 měsíci +1

      The virus cards destroy cards that were in hand and on field at the time of activation immediately. Also, they only destroy cards that are drawn after activation, not searched cards. That's why the Holeutea I searched with Myrmeleo wasn't destroyed.
