For whatever reason one of the best free to play decks during the GX and maybe 5D's part of the game to build was a Gem Knights/Thunder Dragon deck with Twin Head in it. Also there was a good Alien deck for free to play grinding too.

The fact that the Pyro deck was the only other one able to beat Heishin's first encounter kind of shows that, while head Shadi's deck doesn't scale well into the Final Six, he's still good enough to beat the guy.

@@hungerxhunger2548 What are you talking about? Jon_Oh has no reason to lie about Shadi's deck beating Heishin's first encounter, especially when he flat out recorded him actually beating Heishin in the video.
If you mean in general, he was limited to the cards AI Shadi could pull from, and the card pool Shadi has is limited to basically the one equip card Jon_Oh used. This is about as realistic as it could get when just using Shadi's cards in this game.

I would say 'clearly we need a Turtle-Only run,' but I feel like this deck is already like, 80% of what that would be anyways, along with more equips and traps.
Thankfully turtles are easier since we have more than 1 friggen steel shell to protect them!

Welp. No point doing any other runs. Every duelist in the game threw their hands up and resigned from ever playing again thanks to Shadi. That explains why the game in the anime was forgotten about for thousands of years.

If you wanna know why shadi other alias is Hassan, its a manga only where they go inside the Pharaoh memory. After Zorc revive, Hassan (he calls himself the shadow of millenium item, he also goes inside as Bobasa) comes out and when he defend the group from Zorc attack, the mask crack and turns out its Shadi inside

yknow man, i swear old school ygo cards have a level of charm that the modern era hasnt hit in a long time. Idk, somethin about Great White, or Neo the mystic swordsman, or queens double. They just feel more iconic than say a new constellar monster.

Bro I remember pulling a celtic guardian holo as a 10 year old and thought it was beautiful. Also a holo rigeki from a booster pack I slipped inside of a deck my mum bought me (crime never pays), I kept that card till it was stolen by builders in my uni halls (was in a box of other stuff)
In my head they were clearly evil duelists who were jealous, probably salty rigeki break owners masquerading as builders.

I wanted to do the joke of showing Niravana high paladin to my friend and watch him wig out but he like blocked it or didnt even try reading it.
But ya, like I get what the cards do but it too much crap with each deck being ablw to pull out this or that or like a evenly match just melting you for the sin of "literally only way to stomp average turn 1 plays"
I mean hell I love blue eyes as a deck despite being bricky in not speed I have a problem more WTF on power creap plus alest it not as bad 2017 to 2019 ftks ftks ftks everywhere in that format
Modern yugioh has more of a problem with over centralization than with it being too fast. Most archetypes have a card that searches, one that special summons itself and/or constantly recur with little variation. Even the funny trap deck, Labyrinth, became a combo deck albiet on a much smaller scale. When your end game still tends to either end a board of generic negates, one big unaffected by all cards monster or a combination of the above, it gets really boring playing after a while unless you play under different restrictions with friends or something. Pokemon has the same issue where the deck lists have 80% of the same consistency cards and pokemon with a small smattering of your unique deck core due to how powercreep and the generic "goodstuff" cards tend to stay relevant for a while.

They do say that "every dog has its day" so I guess Shadi can get one moment of glory. Also, I'm amazed at how good Chakra's model looks, a lot of the models in Forbidden Memories are hilariously janky looking but this one is very accurate.
I think the card was in the manga so it make sense to invest effort into it

It would be great to see more of these, beating the game with a card pool of one of the NPCs is such a cool concept. I think Seto would be cool, he's the earliest enemy that has any way to answer a BEUD in the form of dark hole, you get spellbinding circle and swords of revealing light, you get all the field spells but no equip spells, you can't fuse THTD, and you get a 2300 built into the deck. I think 2800 is the best you can do including fusions and field spells.
Will definitely move onto them after the types runs are done

serpent night dragon is actually one of my favourite early yugioh monsters as well as baby dragon and harpie's pet dragon n i guess the sheep/ goat tokens if those count (if they do those might be my favourites. the filler episode where the ai uses dna surgery on scapegoat to poly into FHD is one of my favourites, i just thought that idea and animation was really cool)

I feel like most of us end up seeing the same old same old Twin Headed, Magical Sand, etcetera, and it could be really fun to show off some of the less seen fusions in the game.

As someone who plays modern yugioh and just stumbled onto this channel holy heck this channel is great.

A few things I thought when watching the video:
- It's possible and painful to use Swords of Revealing Light by fusing Shadow Spell + Dark Piercing Light. Unfortunately Shadow Spell is locked on Pocketstation as well, but can be fused from Spellbinding Circle + Spellbinding Circle.
- On these tough runs you should standardize using Magic Lock. Magic Lock works by having a card on your side whose basic ATK is lower than the opponent, but higher due to equip cards (field magic DO count, though). The opponent does not consider the equip cards for this check and that's why the suicide glitch works. Magic lock will prevent any magics such as Raigeki to be used while you fulfill this magic lock condition (the AI does not think its worth Raigeking you because your monster is "weaker", although it won't attack as you as well, unless in suicide glitch conditions).
- Sometimes it's scary going for a fake out with low LP (maybe preparing for suicide glitch) against opponents that have Final Flame or other direct damage magic cards. You can prevent them to use it by having a back row magic or trap card (any one works).

Had an idea for a challenge run: Defeating Forbidden Memories with reflection damage. Aka the Fiend Reflection Run.
FM has a glitch where the CPU will check whether or not it will attack based on an algorithm. This algorithm will check for if an attack will win them the game, and will immediately attack if so. The glitch is that this check applies BEFORE the game checks differences in original attacks. The result is that if you control monster A and they have monster B, and the original attacks mean that B against A would be lethal, the CPU will attack even if you load equips onto A to raise it above B.
E.g. If you have 500LP, and summon the 0 ATK Millennium Shield with 2 megamorphs to make it 2000 ATK, then the game will willingly send a 1400 Bean Soldier into the Shield and take 600 damage, because if it applied the original 0 ATK of Shield, the attack would be lethal.
Rules of the run: Any damage done to the opponent must be due to their own attacks. You can run weak monsters into the opponent to lower your LP enough for the glitch to apply. Duplicating cards and starting deck equip looping is fine.
That us doable but so massively tedious. Heishin2 will be our biggest roadblock with his burn damage
The first Shonen Jump I owned was one that was going over the Shadi arc in the manga.
I remember it vividly because it was one that involved Joey telling the possessed professor to eat his ass and I was scared that my teachers would confiscate the book because it had a swear word. I was a very weird little kid.

I think you deserve to have a fun/easy run after this. Maybe a Seto run or something. But like you are stuck using seto 1 until you beat seto 1, seto 2 until you beat seto 2. Ect ect.

I definitely saw one of the earlier opponents pull off a ritual summon once and I had no idea what was happening. I never made it passed Rex as a kid so it had to be one of the early past people.
Only one i can think of is seto 1 with black luster ritual and i think his AI is smart enough to pull it off

Definitely love the idea of doing runs with character decks and Shadi was a heck of way to start. The commentary and trivia, as always, were great. There was a lot about Shadi I didn't even know about. I still hope to see the Aqua type run, but if you are also taking suggestions for character runs, I would love to see you try using the Labyrinth Mage's deck at some point.

Honestly, I never thought shadi as a good guy as more so as a force of nature, with his greatest goal to watch over the millienum items and to make sure they Don't fall into unworthy hands. He probably kept an eye on yugi simply for the sake that he is the wielder of the puzzle and wanted to make sure that yugi was on the correct path to fix what is necessary and put the pieces to rest.
Pretty much this lol I think its metal how each item needed 99 human sacrifices to be made

Oh now I see why Shadi is considered a joke due to looking at the game code.
While he has a decent deck (including being able to access at least 1 Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon), in reality, the deck really struggles during the mid to late game by having small engines mixed in with no real cohesion. The good cards he does have are okay, but they need heavy support like the few equip cards he has.
You really make these challenges entertaining and I learn something new every video about Forbidden Memories.

@@Jon_Oh Oh, I wouldn’t say Resolve is a noob product. I switched from Adobe, a few years ago, and haven’t looked back. Yeah, AE has more plugin support than Fusion, but the user experience versus editing in Premiere is like night and day, in my opinion. Now if you were using Vegas or heaven forbid Filmora, I’d be whining. 😂
But in all seriousness, the important thing is that it works for you and you can get things done without the software getting in your way.

Actually now that I think about it he may have been a ghost in a few of the video games also in battle city he disappeared and reappeared that one point saving Tristan and Duke so I think he maybe a ghost.
A character deck challenge was a fun idea. Though I am once again requesting fairies as that's the closest thing this game has to Fluffals. Or maybe a Fiend/Fairy deck? At least half of the monsters in the deck have to be Fairy and the other half has to be Fiend. A homage to Fluffal and Edge Imp.
+1 to fairies, its definitely going to be a hard type to pull off

you know i think i like this type of video better than the ones based on card type. you actually get to interact with the game's main mechanic of fusing here, and it feels more like a challenge working around the fusions you have access to
I genuinely have more fun with it and consider it an actual puzzle rather than blind attack point slamming

Aww thank you blood red sandman! So much has happened this year i haven't trully taken a moment to let it all soak in! All i can say is that i'm going keep doing my best and hope the next video (dropping in 1-2weeks) keeps things fresh :)
Finally getting to use all the fusions is a huge bonus. No equipment is difficult in its own way though since some endgame monsters can overpower everything.
Half the time its just retry-ing till you get a duel where they don't draw into their heavy hitters
I guess it's true what they say, Shadi's like a melody in my head.
