What is 'Manglik dosha' ?

'Manglik Dosha' is probably one of the most popularly known of all astrological 'doshas' in the chart. Over the years it has become almost too feared in terms of its effects on married life.
While it is true that 'Manglik dosha' actually does have many difficult significations, it probably does not warrant as wide a criticism and demonisation as it has come to be over the years.
'Manglik dosha' points simply towards the sub optimal utilization and expression of Martian energy in the native's life. Onviously depending on the placement it can vary from difficult to very difficult but mostly it is quite benign and gives more difficulties to the native than his or her partner.
Even in terms of 'difficulties' one can say it has more to do with being unable to fully focus, harness & channel one's aggression in a constructive direction, apply one's problem solving abilities in the best ways and 'pick' the right conflicts and avoid the ones that can be detrimental to growth.
If you go to the average astrologer or priest, they will probably suggest tons of remedies and 'shanti pujans' in order to 'pacify' this placement in your chart.
However, spiritual growth occurs when you introduce spiritual awarness about this placement into your life and practice that awarness about what really is the CAUSE and PURPOSE of being born with these kind of challenges in this lifetime.

My girlfriend has Mars in Taurus 11th house, I have Venus in Taurus 10th house, while my Mars is in the first house and her Venus in the 12th. both 2/12 axis. Ascendant doesn't match, Moon and Mercury 6/8 axis. Even my Ketu in the 7th House is maybe the reason I'm not really interested in her, we are still in contact since two years.
