"Sunrise" by Simply Red was released in 2003. The first time I heard it, I started singing this, not realizing that it was a different song. The same thing happened to me when I first heard "U Can't Touch This" by M.C. Hammer, as I started singing "Super Freak" by Rick James😆
And yeah, multiple elements of this song have been sampled by other musical acts *A LOT* 😮

I believe this song is about a relationship with the record industry. You might hear some of their songs on t.v. too. Maneater is one of their more popular songs. I totally groove with their sound, and Daryl soulful voice. Daryl has been called the blue-eyed soul singer. Great reaction! Cheers!
Oh, I remember this song, but never knew who sang it. A groovy beat that makes you sway along and I’m pretty sure that parts of it where used in various other songs. I can imagine this kind of scenario that you have portrayed HAP 🤟. Awesome choice Debra😎🙋🏻♀️.
There are many excellent live versions of this on CZcams. And yes, this is one of of the most-sampled songs ever. Started with De La Soul’s “Say No Go.” Method Mad got his name from another of their songs, “ Method of Modern Love.”
Simply Red dd a very nice cover of this which I've played multiple times. There is no comparison to this, the original by Hall and Oates. Do them doing the great "She's Gone" next.

You should hear You Make My Dreams Come True, and more than that you should hear She's Gone because Daryl's vocals are so soulful and so good. See the Out of Touch video as it's really cool, and fun. Daryl has some moves too lol! Philly Soul. Another song that most know by Paul Young called Every Time You Go Away was a cover and the original was written by Daryl and is so good. :)
They had a couple other videos done in this same style. One of them is called Private Eyes, and they're all dressed in trench coats and sunglasses. Another is Kiss On My List. An early one I think even back from the 70s is worth checking out too called Rich Girl. More up tempo, but still covered in Philly Soul!
