Answered my question. So we were also in on the mad idea of bringing the Ukraine into NATO. I don’t blame the ruskies for viewing this as a hostile move one bit. Putin already was planning to re-take any and all territories that belonged to the former Czarist sphere of influence, and I learned about this from one of his Deputy Foreign Ministry secretaries in 2006-2007 via my contacts in Finland. I kinda wrote it off as Soviet-era blowhard craziness, until he invaded Georgia in 2008.

The war in Ukraine serves two main purposes which involve massive funding for the military industrial complex accompanied by the usual bribery and money laundering opportunities for the administrative state and the second involves the unhinged desire of globalists to remove Putin who represents a major obstacle to their plan for a 'new world order' involving elimination of western capitalist democracies. No other interpretation makes any sense.
Any rational. strategic analysis would have advised continuation of the peace process and resolution of the disputed enclaves whilst keeping Ukraine neutral and not advancing NATO to the border with Russia in violation of the specific undertakings given to Gorbachev when he ended the iron curtain.
Pity the hundreds of thousands sacrificed for the sake of the frankly evil globalists ambitions.
