- Let's go back to Chuck E Cheese in 1992 - today we see what arcades in the 90s were like! This is the very first footage of Arcade Matt in an arcade! 90s arcades were much different than today - Chuck E Cheese had some retro arcade games and video games. I even play air hockey and go through the ball pit!

Fellow Yinzer here! Which Chuck E Cheese was this shot at (assuming you even know/remember and assuming this was a Pittsburgh location)?
Bozo was a tv show on WGN back in the day. it played on Saturday mornings. It was very popular. 2 lucky kids would get to play the bucket game at the end of the episode.
When I was younger, I would go to Chuck E. Cheese almost every week. I loved it there, meeting other kids, playing games, playing in the sky tubes, and, of course, saying hi to Chuck E. I love that place.
I think it would be a cool video to go to Chuck E. Cheese again as an adult. It was definitely better back when you went as a kid, but I still have a ton of fun when I go there now.
You sharing this is heartwarming Matt! You are just a genuinely a great person. No wonder your so successful.

This actually unlocked some memories i had with my mom and brother with our friends and cousins. Going to the arcades here in Niagara Falls Canada. Going to the Skylon Tower, Minolta Tower and Clifton Hill for our birthdays. The nostalgia. When you could get like 30-40 tokens for like 5$. Now it's fifty cents to a dollar per token and the games now cost four or so tokens. Or just plain old quarter games. Where every game was 25-50 cents and that was it. Or the go-carts that were one to two dollars for a few laps. Bumper cars, lazer tag, shooting galleries etcetera. Then mowing down some pizza. Good times. This video is awesome, thanks for sharing a piece of your past with us man. Also your mom is badass.

This brings back memories. I have loads of VHS's from the mid-90's of me in bowling alleys, arcades, and just in general. Always gives warm feelings popping those into the VCR.

Wow I was 11 yrs old in 92 you know we’re not that far apart in age crazy . I’m proof you never quit what makes you happy . Heck people I play pinball with some are 60 + and can put me out of a tournament like I’ve never been schooled before. Living the dream lol . Awesome video man!!!
The ball pit was awesome and at my location right next to the long line of classic skeeball lanes . Games like rock and bowl were hot at the time and of course the old bozo the clown with 6 buckets was a favorite

Wow 1992 was the year I was born. This video was definitely nostalgia for me because I played those games in arcades back in the late 90s when I was old enough. I definitely remember the old coin pushers, the coin dumpster truck/construction truck ones, skeeball, and so many more. I definitely remember playing that hungry hungry hippo one at some point. Man takes me back to my innocent care free kid days

I love that I always take pics/videos of my son and daughter at the arcade. It was such a great memory for me when I was going to Chuck E Cheese in 1992 as well(I'm 36 too haha) so I hope to be able to let them look back 30 years later and see the same joy I saw.
Amazing video Matt. Bozo Grand prize game was a fane he did on his TV show in Chicago. Kids would get prizes every level they got too.

Matt thank you for posting this. Seeing this old footage reminds me of the Chuck E. Cheese at Century 3 Mall. The Century 3 location had a HUMONGOUS cheese factory you could crawl through. That’s always a memory I’ll never forget from my childhood.

@@arcade_matt The only Pittsburgh area locations that I can remember were Monroeville and Century 3. Those 2 locations were MASSIVE to say the least. Century 3 was definitely the better of the 2 as I remember them.

So I'm your age, Matt, and ours most definitely had bowler roller, it was one of our favorites... Because... They had a clear guard around most of the track and my brother and I were pretty good at cheating the system with games, so we discovered we could fit out tiny arms inside just enough to stop the bowling ball and get max score/tickets
I love your videos and I've been subscribed since 2011 or 12 and ever since then I've been entranced on how Arcades worked, and love the entrainment factor that comes with it. I've used some of the techniques I seen in some of your videos and they actually worked. Thanks for all the entertaining videos and hope more will come

Congrats on the anniversary Arcade Matt. The arcade is different today than it was in the 90s. Back then I was not skilled in Arcade Games until 2009 that is when I started getting better in arcade games and breaking arcade jackpots, and haven't stopped since then. I only have five SoCal Dave and Busters locations left to break arcade jackpots of completing Dave and Busters SoCal Arcade Games Challenge.

At 10:06 thats the watergun game! Like the ones at carnivals you gotta use the watergun to shoot the center of the target and the jetskis (or whatever they are) at the top race down the the bottom. Love this video. 90s kids unite!

Some ideas popped into my head for future videos and I thought you might enjoy the ideas to consider. I love your “can you win it videos”, but I think it would be fun to see you venture out to more local arcades in addition to Zone 28, Dave and Busters, etc, while trying to win the best prizes there
I would also love to see more challenges and perhaps an updated house tour and maybe even a prize collection video.

I wish I was born in the 90’s. I missed out on a great era. I was born in 2003. However, I haven’t missed out on a lot of things when I was a kid, including Chuck E Cheese.
