+Daaily Luke cage was created during a time of extreme racial tension, in the wake of MLK's death and more. Luke Cage was meant to be a role model for black youths in that he is black and he is bulletproof, essentially unstoppable. And given the racism in America today a character like this is so important.

love that they treated the season like an album and compare listening to binge watching. never thought about it that way but he's absolutely right!! the only time you really take time for something media related thesedays is either the new album (or a classic one) of a favorite musician .... and binge watching your favorite shows.

Simone Missick and Alfred Woodard are fine as hell. Marvel are experts at casting. I never considered Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock. Damn im still impressed. Vincent Donofrio is perfect as Fisk, Jon is damn near perfect as Frank, Krysten Ritter killed it as Jessica Jones and Mike Colter rose to the occasion as Luke Cage. I cant wait to see what Marsh Ali does with Cottonmouth, Theo does with Shades and what Simone does with Misty Night. Keep up the good work.

As a longtime reader, I wasn't sure how a Luke Cage show would work. The character doesn't really have a definitive run like Jessica Jones (Alias), Iron Fist (The Immortal Iron Fist), or Daredevil (A lot of outstanding material), but he's still always been an interesting character and starting in 2004 where Luke Cage officially became an Avenger through now, Marvel has seriously developed the character. He just hadn't held his own series yet, but after hearing Cheo speak and Alfre's major endorsement of the writing and hell, just the overall cast and their confidence in this, I'm damn ready to watch this.

Just finished binge watching this show and absolutely loved it! Luke is strong and kind and the cast brings so many layers to the table. Harlem is showcased beautifully. Can't wait for Season 2.
Alfre Woodard is both in Civil War and Luke Cage playing different characters.. Bit of an oversight there.

BrianPremium fair enough,but they were merely extras in their first MCU roles.Alfre however had somewhat an integral part in Civil war. It's not really a big deal it's just odd to see.

Why are you only doing highlights? The reason I subbed last year was bc you posted full panels. You're doing more work than you have too. Based on the comments, your subs want full panel with no to limited edits (editing out trailers). Pls stop doing highlight and just post the whole panel
One of the most well thought out and the most under rated Comic stories ever, also one of the best acted, he is Luke Cage! They should have named them after Tribe called Quest songs.
just finished watching s1. I LOVED IT! great performances from ALL the cast. lots of action of course, good drama, lots of music, nicely written...can't wait for s2 and The Defenders

I don't know if it's just me, but Simone looks older than the guy they hired to play Danny Rand/Iron Fist. they're supposed to be boyfriend and girlfriend. shit...he looks younger than Mike Colter too, and both of their characters are supposed to be best friends.

At first I thought Alfre Woodward was playing the same character from Captain America Civil War. I just couldn't understand why such a good actress would have such a small cameo unless they were building that character up in another film. Apparently she's not the same character though.
Also the first time I noticed Theo Rossi was in "House of the Dead 2", lol. He played a college jerk that ended up being the first victim bitten by a zombie. He was only in the first 5 minutes, but every time I see him now, I always think of that silly movie. Ha...

From what I've heard, she's a different character. When she filmed her Civil War scene, it was before she was in talks to play in Luke Cage.
