    Ronnie good job. I to an Ron and 62 yo. My first vehicle was a 43 mb Jeep. Iv had cj’s and my fav the scrambler cj8. They only made those a few years. When the Gladiator came out I was drooling. I too had a Tacoma TRD 4 door. It wouldn’t hardly pull my 5000 lb camper. I just bought a 2020 Gladiator last week. It’s 5 times the truck the Toyota was. My overland needs a winch and I’ll be set. New subscriber. I’ll be putting my Jeep on my channel soon !

    Thats funny, I did the same. Traded in a trd pro tacoma 6 speed manual for a Gladiator. In all honesty, havent looked back and dont miss that anemic 3.5 manual. 3.0 diesel owner!

    Dude your rig is perfection. I just got a 2021 gladiator and I want to do pretty much exactly what you’ve done to yours to mine.

    I wish my Rubicon came with that bumper. I would make it stubby. Those are sold out until at least December. Hard to find new or used.

    Only thing I don't like about the gladiators is that you can't have a different color dashboard. Not a fan of that orange/red color. Seems out if place

    Well the problem that I've seen in overlanding in the last 5 years is that everybody wants to have all this crazy wizbang gear. All they end up doing is cramming their vehicle full of stuff they never use and on top of that they're adding tremendous weight to their vehicle.
    I can't figure out why people are trying to make overlanding into a luxurious experience. Last time I checked all you need is a vehicle ( firstaid and tool kit are part of a vehicle) cooler, stove, mess kit sleeping bags and tent.
    Alll these guys pull up in Tacomas loaded to the brim and hauling a trailer. By the time they get pulled in the camp and get everything set up we're cleaning up because we've already eaten, usually sitting around the fire. And we're always waiting on these guys in the morning for them to break down everything and get everything put up.

      You're not wrong, but you're also not 100% right either. Comfort is a spectrum. To some, anything more than a foxhole and a poncho is glamorous. To others anything less than a 5-star resort is roughing it. Personally, I'm a minimalist. So I totally get you. I came into overlanding form the backpacking side of things and even then I was an ultra-light guy in my prime with nothing more than a hammock and a tarp. These days I'm older, my back is worse, and I really like having a real bed in my trailer. I also like having nothing to set up. Beyond that I'm pretty rough when I camp.

    What are those Maxtrax mounts? Was that a DIY or an option for the Alu-Cab?

    That box in the bed for a twin air compressor looks like a huge waste of space. To think I just put mine under the seat when I could have just used the whole toolbox to mount it. Lmao.

    • @BlueRidgeOverlandGear
      @BlueRidgeOverlandGear  Před 3 lety +1

      With two kids in the backseat, their "stuff" usually ends up under the seat. So the air compressor was better off in the bed. Plus that box is modular and can be removed if/when needed.
