I love how you can actually hear every instrument clearly and loud. Including the bass which usually has a fainted sound in within an orchestra as a whole, great proformance
Thank you very much!
As a bass player I appreciate this for that reason
My middle school has four 6th grade basses and one 7th, so the bass doesn't fade fortunately!
Yeah. In middle school, my class had to learn to play this for a performance.
the bass is actually the loudest that’s why there’s usually 4-2 basses
I played this song on cello all the time in middle school orchestra. Now, 10 years later, I haven’t touched a cello since then and this song STILL gets stuck in my head CONSTANTLY. For the past 5 years I’ve been trying to find it again, and finally I did!
It is one of those pieces that sticks with you!
me too. i did second violin in 6th grade. first violin in 7th grade. didn’t play in high school since orchestra wasn’t in the curriculum. if someone put a violin in my hands rn i could probably still play it
@@angeliquebryant8810nice Ik Dragonhunter on both cello and violin and we were mixed up with the older kids for our recent concert so the older kids in violin 2 did violin 2 parts and the violin 2 (me) in my group did violin one.
SO REAL, I play it in school now on cello!
Imagine how long this took
It's been 5 years and I still feel the plucking in my soul
Right?? Dragonhunter never leaves you
She doesn’t need like 24 people to play she’s just the whole orchestra
YOU ONLY NEED 24?!!!?? My orchestra has 50
Oh I’m in concert there concert, middle and chamber
@@agentbluedino1396 oh

Impressive
Truly the best song
I played this for my orchestra fith year this is already nostalgic aughh
I am playing this song for my upcoming concert in February (I am first chair Violin 1) we were playing dragon hunter today in orchestra and everyone got lost with the pizz because it is a Monday and its was during 7th hour (the last hour of the school day) so everyone was tired, anyways everyone got lost but me so I was still playing, the first cello was also playing but the cello couldn't hear me because the violin 1 plucking is not that loud, the cello guessed where I was and we played it perfectly. We suprized the whole orchestra even our teacher and after we were done my stand partner asked how I stayed on time when no one was playing but me, I said I did the cello part in my head. This is why I always watch the cello part instead of the violin 1 part because I know my timing now and because If im ever lost I can use the cellos to get back to where I need to be.
*wow i love it. i played this piece for a school concert*
I love how clearly you can play and I love hearing this my friends is in 6th grade mustang-advanced orchestra class and this Thursday my friends gonna perform this song I can’t wait!! and I love hear and play when I’m not with my orchestra class.

im playing tomorrow at my orchestra concert!!
I'm playing this song next month for a concert! its such a nice song I didn't want to be in beginner orchestra because I'm more advanced but I'm glad i stayed to play this song with them.
I’m learning this at school which helps me a lot to play with the other instruments
we were gonna play this in 6th grade but couldn’t bc of the pandemic so we played it for the last concert of my 7th grade year :D
Same
I played it for my 6th grade concert, but it still is stuck in my head to this day

I love your channel! Thank you for all the bass part only as well. I'm A new bass, who just switched from viola. This helps so much!
I’m going to be just like you this year in my 5th I got bored of my viola so next year I might switch to bass
If you need any tips I’ve played bass for three years also quick thing there is a lot of shifting it’s crazy how many positions there are.
@@darkflamez9999 If you need any tips I’ve played bass for three years also quick thing there is a lot of shifting it’s crazy how many positions there are.

You forgot the harp part. I’m just kidding, but I’m some versions there is a harp part and kinda sad that nobody ever plays that part 😢.

I still can’t play through the whole thing and you can lay with every string instrument
What a masterpiece/legend…
can you do Riverside Celebration by Brian Balmages? I think it’s a really cool piece. I’m a viola in my orchestra and we’re playing these two pieces. I’d appreciate it. Thanks!!

0:46 Violins and violas sound like a train whistle
If I may ask why do you pluck so high up on the bass
I wish I had a good answer for that, but honestly it's just how I've done it on bass. I may be wrong!
5th grade memories
You keep red lining
Yeah, this was one of my first videos, I've learned a lot since then!
I have to play this and is so hard...-
You will get it! My students always think it's too hard at first, and then it's their favorite!
@@OrchestraAcademy thanks you :)
This song is good and you're doing a great job at it however, just a reminder to make sure to keep the elbow up with the bass and cello (chicken wing) PS. no harsh feelings.
You are totally right! That is something I always struggle with since I’m a violinist first. Thanks!
For the first note of measure 40 for cello you played the wrong note
how did you know 😭
I know how to play dragonhunter on both violin and cello
I can do all exept second violin
@@spectile7268 oh nice. The violin two is the same as viola so ik a bit on viola
I think you did mistake for cello….in pizzacato section it’s f sharp b b you did e b b and your a string is out of tune
