This is it!I finally found my Code 3 Force 4XL Ecto1-A!I bought this light with a friend on Govdeals with some others Code 3 lights.This bar is just THE bar I wanted since few years now.Inside there is 6 standards rotators with 3 diamonds mirrors.
I'm really happy to show you this awesome bar from the Ghostbusters II movie.I hope you'll enjoy the video.

I like the different-colored lightbars that were used for the Ecto-1 of Ghostbusters II.
Don't get me wrong, I still like the blue lightbars that were used for the Ecto-1 of the first film, but I like the lightbars that were used for the Ecto-1 of the second film better because they're more colorful.
I am aware that 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Futura Duplex cars aren't easy to come by nowadays, but if I were fortunate to come across one in good condition on the outside and inside a little rusted some that someone wanted to sell at a fair, reasonable price, I would definitely buy it, take it off of their hands and convert it into my very out film-accurate replica of the Ecto-1A down to the last detail and I would used the Haynes Ectomobile Owner's Workshop Manual to have something to go by.

blue and green light bars were reserved for ems in the northeast states or most adopted back in the day that color some with amber for ems volunteers. always thought that was cool they used that for the original movie.
When I'm from - RED Lights are Fire Vehicle's, BLUE Light's are Police & GREEN Light's are Security Vehicle's.
realy cool videos! i am a die hard ghostbusters fan and i realy lapreciate it to be able to see this lightbar in closeup! thank u! any tips where i can get me one of those and/or ecto 1! not that i could ever affort me an ecto 1, but i would like to have this iconic lightbars for my room as a display!

Didn't realize I beat you to it lol. I have a video on here with Ecto 1 light bar, then the Whelen and XL bar. I got two blue filters to swap out the reds for the rear bar too

I know. i really can't believe that Harold Ramis is really gone. he was 69 when we had lost him. this can't not really be happening to us. i knew that those guys are getting old. Dan Aykroyd is 61, Bill Murray is 63, and Ernie Hudson is 68. and it will probably be Ernie Hudson next, then Bill Murray, and last Dan Ayroyd.

u can make them out of stage light green filters.

That's a gorgeous lightbar the reason green and blue were used in the lightbars in the original Ghostbusters was had they used red and white they would've faced penalty of law because of the lighting codes for New York only emergency personnel and equipment can have red and white in the city were it was filmed so they opted for green and blue and Amber instead
They wouldn't have gotten in trouble. It was a movie.
I'm afraid not even if they were making a movie the authority's would not be happy law is law and the only way that would fly is if they were on a Hollywood movie set if they were filming in New York city like they were they couldn't do that movie or not does not change the fact they had to obey the law
Yeah, that's not how it works. You are aware that movies are filmed on location rather than just in Hollywood, right? Emergency lighting laws don't apply on movie sets. The NYPD has an entire movie unit that is dedicated to helping movie companies film on location. Your logic makes no sense whatsoever, since there are plenty of movies that use NYPD cars in them. They aren't real police officers, so how are those cars allowed to use red and white lighting? What is your source that says they would have gotten in trouble if they would have used red lights?
Also, green wasn't used in the original Ghostbusters movie. The lightbars were all blue, and, as a matter of fact, the first Ecto-1 did have a front facing red warning light.

Where can I find the 6 light code 3 rotary beacon like this? My son and I want to build a Ecto 1 since im just about done restoring my 82 DeLorean. Also you mentioned the green filter is hard to find?

Do the rotator's have the black gears or are they the old style where you could put the black gear on the motor for a faster speed? DJ
They have the older gears.It has all white now.Black ones would make them fast.
How much are we talking to find one of these in working condition plus finding the correct filters?

+Jarrett Buffington The back lightbar of the Ecto - 1A alsop had amber, green and blue lights.
Those were the three colors on the forward XL:
(Amber-Red-Green-Red-Green-Amber)
Then of course there was the aft XL:
(Amber-Blue-Green-Green-Blue-Amber)
What do you use to power your lights?
I use a 230V/13,8V 60amps Power supply.
