@@byronlewis1330 Regarding John 1:1, 2 you might like to look at the original Greek. In the first verse the words _τὸν θεόν_ refer to "God" in the part of verse 1 which says "with God". The _τὸν θεόν_ in verse 2 also refers to "God". Now look at the the Greek words in verse 1 _καὶ θεὸς ἦν ὁ λόγος;_ they literally mean "and god was the Word". Notice I didn't capitalise the word god? There's a very good reason. Let's repeat the Greek parts and add a comment to each one
_τὸν θεόν,_ God ... Has the definite article in front of it (The word "the")
_τὸν θεόν,_ God ... Also has the definite article in front of it.
_καὶ θεὸς ἦν ὁ λόγος_ - and god was the Word ... The word god here has NO definite article in front of it!
What does this mean? In the Greek, when a noun is used it has the definite article in front. If a Greek noun doesn't have the article in front, it becomes a description rather than an identification, and has the character of an adjective rather than a noun. In the case here in verse one, what it is saying is that the Word is like God; it is NOT saying it IS God. You could also translate it as 'and the Word was divine'; you could even say "the Word was a god" because many are called gods in the Bible with even Satan referred to as "the god of this system". What you can't translate it as (at least not correctly) is "and the Word was God" meaning the Almighty. There is no clear implication that Jesus is God, it is a faulty interpretation when you look at the original Greek and to say that Jesus is God is just plain wrong. Sorry, you have been misled and I have just shown you why. All you have to do now is decide if you want to take note what I have just shown you from the Bible or if you still want to follow something you can now see from scripture for yourself is wrong! You have a choice to make. Turn a blind eye if you want to, but when the time comes that will not be an acceptable excuse.

No, the last clause literally means: 'and God was the Word'- and not and 'a god was the Word'. Since literally Greek has no indefinite article ‘a’. So, what you claimed is false! For in Greek, my understanding is there are no capital markers and Theos is a noun meaning God or god. It is the English context that helps us state which is best for translation, i.e. capitalized or non-capitals. And the orthodox reading of John 1:1 is the better translation.
In Greek it appears that whether there is a definite article or not in front of the noun doesn’t necessarily dictate whether the noun is capitalised or not- this is a rule taken by the translators based on certain principles. But what is certain- there is no hard and fast rule that dictates that a noun like the Greek ‘theos’ if it doesn’t have the definite article ‘the’ before it, therefore requires the indefinite article ‘a’ and thus not appearing in identifying ‘Theos’ with the One True God but a supposedly small 'god' that is with God- which smacks of association, polytheism and shirk of Islam.
We see this even in the New World Translation where later in John 1:6 they totally go against this supposedly rule of adding the indefinite article 'a' if there is no definite article ‘the’ before the word ‘God’. We have in John 1:6 παρὰ ‘from’ before Θεοῦ ‘god’, or ‘par theou’ meaning ‘from God’ with no definite article ‘ho’ or similar before the noun. By the principle you espoused and what the watchtower organisation espouses their and your reading of John 1:6 would have John coming from a god, and not the One True God, and of course the ‘a god’, could as you stated be Satan, who is the god of this world and inspires organisations like the Watchtower. However, the Watchtower doesn’t keep to this rule and has: There came a man who was sent as a representative of God; his name was John. Notice it doesn’t read ‘representative of a god’. This is deception and of the god of this world Satan.
It is you who have been misled…since you claimed that in the last clause: καὶ θεὸς does not have the definite article in front of it and then made assumption it must have the indefinite article in front of it and thus making it more of an adjective rather than an identifier- this is an absurd conclusion, God or god is not an adjective but is a noun and would either be the subject or the predicate noun, saying something about the subject. And since in the last clause God ‘theos’ and Word ‘logos’ both have the ‘os’ ending, indicating both are taken as subject- however in English and Greek for that matter both can’t be subject at once and be the ‘was’ of the subject. Consequently, in our sentence the writer has rightly concluded that ‘logo’s is the subject in the 3 clauses with the ‘os’ endings thus in the last clause the word Theos is the predicate and by rule drops definite article ‘the’ but still relates to the definite noun of Theos already spoken of. Making clearer logos as subject and theos as predicate, where theos refers to the same theos of the definite article already spoken of in the previous clauses.
There is no warrant from the text of John 1:1 to relate that the Word was a god, since in the first clause it reads the ‘In the beginning was the Word’ and not ‘In the beginning God created the Word’, since the second clause states the ‘Word was with God’. He already was, in the beginning and not came to be. For how can God be ever without word? Certainly, many JWs and other unitarians are without word and are like ‘dumb oxen’ with no voice to refute the truth but God was never without Word. Further John 1:2 clarifies that the Word is creator and not created. It is you who have been deceived and should repent and believe who Jesus claimed to be.
Sorry, I meant John 20:31 where the term the Son of God, means that Jesus is the natural Son of God and thus has God's nature, as seen in John 1:2 where He is creator and he created you, and thus is your creator, God.

JESUS Bore Our Sins On The Cross:

Can you not see the immense difference between Allah and the true God? One ensnares the Prophets by appointing evil enemies to deceive them, while the other protects them from the deception of the evil enemies. Who do you think behaves like a true Creator?
