  • In this demo video, we put Rupert Neve Designs' 5254 to the test and let you hear how this great sounding compressor performs on different sources.
5254 is a dual channel diode bridge compressor inspired by Rupert Neve's classic 2254 developed in the 1970's. RND 5254 delivers the punch and glue of Neve’s original design, imparting a weight and harmonically rich tonality that will effortlessly bring vocals, electric guitars, bass and drums to the forefront of a mix.
Modern updates include high-voltage power rails, lower noise, advanced timing settings and built-in parallel processing. All the controls are fully stepped ensuring precise settings and easy recall.

Too bad we only hear the auto-release setting. (Which is slow on continuous compression.)

Yep, fair point! We try to keep these videos succinct and to the point - the idea being that if listeners like what they hear they’re welcome to contact us to take the units into their own studio for a more thorough appraisal (it's a service we can only really offer to UK customers though). Sometimes we have to compromise on running a range of different material through the processors or going more in-depth on one or two sources. Hopefully you get enough of an idea of the sonic footprint of the 5254 from this video though 👍
