I still remember when he created havoc in UCL season 1998-1999, carrying Dynamo Kyiv alone until semi-final before stopped by Bayern Munich. And then the next season he moved to AC Milan in the Serie A, joining the already star filled world class strikers in the league like my beloved idol Batistuta, Ronaldo, Vieri, Crespo, Chiesa, Inzaghi, Del Piero, Zamorano, Recoba, Montella, Delvecchio, Salas, Kovacevic, Amoruso, Bierhoff, and Signori.
What a time to be alive.
And now? Only mediocre strikers remains...

Мне было лет 18, когда Шева взорвал планету. Мы все были в него влюблены. Вот это было время! Киев, перепiчка, Лобановский, грюппа ВВ, Вакарчук тоже, начало эры мобилок, семечки в стаканчиках с днищем(помните эти стаканчики? Дно было огого).
Да воспоминания - Шева, семечки, мобилки... Кстати мобилки появились уже в восьмидесятых, но только дошли до Украины в конце 90х. А я учился на одном факультете со Скрипкой - он на 3 курса моложе меня был.

A predatory elite striker. Never realised he scored some wonder long efforts and free kicks. Played in a glorious Milan side for years. Shame a lot of people may remember Sheva for his inconsistent time at Chelsea. He won the balon d'Or in 2004 though and was an unbelievable finisher. Reminds me of Lewandowski nowadays. Technically magnificent and all round player.
