A Panoramic Tour of Sao Vicente From The Port of Mindelo | Cabo Verde | Cape Verde

- Cape Verde, or Cabo Verde, is an African Island in the Atlantic Ocean. From the port of Mindelo, we took a panoramic tour of the island. We visited quickly a small museum in Mindelo before heading for sweeping views and the beach. The first stop was the windy Monte Verde for sweeping and stunning views of the island and the port city of Mindelo. Our next stop was a wavy Salamansa Beach. We had just enough time to walk through the sand and listen to the roar of the waves. Last was a cultural dance show with snacks. St Vincent or Sao Vincente is a beautiful island and our guide said they are trying to get more tourism infrastructure in place. It certainly has the views and the beaches.

I was there in january 2024.
I have been there for about 11 days. Never made it to the hills though. I'am sorry to see that you never really experianced Mindelo. It is the cultural & Musical heart of Cabo Verde. Sometimes I thought that there were more (small) supermarkets than tourists (but hey, I went there in April). Yes always a little bit windy (ie ?). But about all through the year the temperature is between 20 & 30 degrees ( celsius). There is often live music in the restaurants. The most beautyful singingvoice I ever heard was in one of those restaurants. Just in an adiënce of 50 persons, me one of the 10 people in the same space as that woman with guitar and het compagnion with several other instruments... playing Cesaria Evora. And in a small hotel on the hill, there was a great view on the bay, and the city by night. Arla was this (green) hotel called.
So if you ever come back again, try to stay there at least a long weekend. It is worth it.

@@TravelswithVandSteve Thank you for your reaction. It is not common. You tubers react. I wish both of you a great trip to Cabo Verde in the future. Maybe a trip to more than one Island in Cabo Verde. I did not make it to Santo Antão either. But that island is the green pearl of Cabo Verde.
