The original series had an episode where Morticia was on the opposite side of the house, and said something vaguely French, and Gomez effin MATERIALIZED at her feet, kissing up her arm, and saying, “Tish, you spoke FRENCH! 🥵”

The Addams Family is great, there's so many different media forms for it, (movies, comics, shows, even a musical!) If you want to start though, I recommend the movies made in the 90's called "The Addams Family" and its even better sequel, "The Addams Family Values" respectively! Addams Family Values is especially good, and you need no prior knowledge if you wanted to start with that too. It's hilarious and explains a lot of the bits in these videos

Like many things related to comics, that varies depending on continuity. Nigma, Nygma, Nashton, they're all his last names. Though my understanding is that "Edward Nigma" is the original. They probably went with Nashton in the newer movie because it's less silly if the villain themed around riddles isn't named E. Nigma.

I love this so much. I may not know a lot about the Addams Family apart from a few clips I’ve seen, but everything fits so well and sounds legitimate.
