I'm calling BS, no way a little Rat can take down an entire Ox, kill it and eat it, someone must have planted that Ox bone in the car.
well the old cure for that problem is to get a bunch of good old fashion mothballs and fill up a bunch of old socks with them and put one or two in the trunk of your car, one or two in the cabin of your car and one or two in the engine compartment like next to the car's computer/electronics and next to the shield that covers the engine and any other place that your think a rat or mouse would build a nest (BUT REMEMBER TO TAKE THEM OUT BEFORE YOU DRIVE !!)... yeah, it's not a pleasant smell but rats and mice are mostly a winter problem so by spring they'll find somewhere else to nest and you can get rid of the mothballs... i've seen trucks burn up from mice nests in the engine compartment cause the truck hadn't been driven for awhile and mice took over .... always be checking for that kinda problem ...
This happened to my friend on Bethpage, Long Island.
They are everywhere.
Not just the city.

I USED TO LIVED IN NEW YORK CITY ! ITS A FILTHY CITY !
It's BEEN filthy! Stahp it
Hell, now the prices for peppermint oil will sky rocket!!!
cheaper than a wire harness
And i cant even find any in my local stores had to order a bulk for the year
“they ate the battery from my wire” 😂 me when I’m talking fast and mix my words up but just keep on going bc I know that the person I’m talking to will know what I’m trying to say 🙂
And my hunt through the comments finally ends! 😂
It looked very nasty when I visited, it’s like they never pick up the trash ever 🤢
I live in buffalo Ny we use the big plastic bins why is the garbage on the streets in just bags?
Not enough space for those, so they just leave the bags.
im from la tht shit nasty
@@deezy81 not enough space? You sound silly
No alleys
@@fbgwedgie If you ever visit here, you will see.. This is a very crowded city.
"If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere" aka if you can make it to adulthood without being eaten by rats then by damn you've earned your right to pay an arm & half a leg to live in a 2 story one room walk up. Gotta love the city that never sleeps 'cause they gotta stay up and watch out for rats. No wonder they're so damn rude lol
getting ran up on and confronted by giant sewer rats is a rite of passage in NYC lol
This is definitely true. They ate my wires and my transmission no longer worked.
Spray peppermint essential oil on your engine. Spray it on cotton balls spread them throughout under the hood.
One thought dominates over all others when I think of my childhood years in NYC... Never again.
The fact that rent is so high in NY and infested with rats i don’t see how people don’t move that’s disgusting I can already see the apartments that people live in with rats
Oh my gosh, that is so disgusting!
As hard as it is to find parking in the City, you really think iam moving it bc there is a Hole near by!!! Lmao I got carjackers to worry about!!!
Here in rural Ohio you have to worry about Groundhogs chewing your stuff up. Had a co worker with a Land Rover basically get his wiring chewed up. He had to get rid of it. Then his Escalade wiring got chewed up. I think they also use peanut oils on the wiring.
And if you have horses in the field they break their legs in the groundhog holes.
Back in the 90’s the worse I’ve seen/heard were roaches and maybe an occasional snake or spider….. something eco changed for rats to be freely roaming out the sewers
Rats reproduce faster than rabbits or cats. The only way to deal with the scourge is to cut down on the population without poison or traps. Poison kills wildlife and pets. Rats are smart and get HEP fast to traps. PCP pellet rifles with night vision and thermal recognition scopes only in the hands of qualified approved shooters will cut down on the population fast. Start with a rotation on eliminating rats in the Parks. They close down at dark...citizens should avoid City Parks at dark. Let the exterminators begin...
The pandemic...?

Right around 2000 was when automakers started using soy-based wiring insulation. Before then, oil and petroleum insulation was used. They changed it to be more environmentally friendly. Unfortunately, rodents eat the soy stuff.
More dirty people…. NYers are some of the dirtiest in the country
Mothballs can also cause respiratory and breathing problems for humans.
Well there has to be sacrifices in order to get rid of the rats
NYC is just so damn dirty. It’s always funny hearing people say it’s the best city until I ask them where have they been and find out they’ve never left the tristate area lol.
This absolutely happened to me during the pandemic. Had a road trip to PA & and the car wasn't working. Rats were under my hood & left droppings. Had to change the battery and buy peppermint oil. Unfortunately, my block is rat infested and has been featured on the news a few times for that problem. You never know how common this is until it happens to you.
You could move.
😭😭😭
@@nessparadis6948 wow maybe someday you will know how that feels

"One of the greatest cities in the world" rats everywhere, trash everywhere, traffic all day, no parking spots, expensive rent for 1br 🤣 what is she smoking
So maybe when I called the mechanic a liar , I should take it back😊
It ate the wires to my transmission sensor 😂
Mice 🐁 not rats 🐀
They are doing this in Texas also. I guess if it get too cold. My friend girl had a brand new car just brought 3 months later rat had crawled up under her car created a rat nest in the back of her glove compartment. She kept smelling something it was a damn dead rat. Had one crawl up into me car my son heard something while he was sitting in it one day. Went under the hood only to discover a big ass rat 😱 running and jumping off the side omg🤮🤢 it had brought up trash McDonald's wrappers to warm up.
Have the city pay the bill
I recall that there was a meatless bone, oxtail I think, around the engine cover of my car, about 10 years ago. I was quite puzzled as to how that could have gotten there... now I know..
😂😂😂
I cant….😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I would put rat poison inside the hood of the car every night
This happened to me in my first car before the pandemic
Was it news worthy ? Not if you don’t live in the city 🤣 other boroughs don’t matter !!!!
Happened to me in my first car during the pandemic lol
Squirrels do the same stuff.
Just rats with fluffy tails
That's crazy.
I still don’t understand how people pay $3,000 in New York for no space , no parking , traffic and rats in the neighborhood
Need more cats 🐈⬛
Ny ny cats are scared of rats I seen cats run away from rats rats are toooo big
Alright, time to let the cats swarm the streets. I would rather deal with stray cats than rats
This.
Except one problem. Cats have been getting bullied by them nyc rats🤣
@@Ericgomez214 They soft because people keep on feeding them and they lost their natural instincts to hunt prey. Once they start starving, they will go straight savage mode again.😾

That happened to me and my car. What worked for me is putting vinegar on paper towels and putting it on top of engine and close to where they are chewing. They can't stand the smell
Damn, I remember when you only had to worry about this in rural areas when parking cars for long periods. Imagine how bad the rat problem in NYC is
Those rats are pretty bold. I guess they say “ Life is rough out here in these streets. We gotta do what we gotta do to survive “.
great cities in the world. lololol. your kidding, rats, killings more than most, crimes of every type, slums, homeless. etc,
I live in CT. This pisses me off, and it's not even my problem, so I'm sorry that's happening to all you New Yorkers.
You can spray your engine compartment with pepper spray/mace to keep them away. Avoid the exhaust pipes.
2:54 so much irony in that statement
Car owners should try these:
Tape or tie up camphor tablets (inside a plastic ziplock, with tiny holes) around the hood, to deter their visits;
Tape or tie up rolled tobacco leaves around the hood;
Spray peppermint oil around the hood.
Farm owners in India, literally assemble (and disassemble in the morning) a thin guage corrugated metal sheet perimeter around their cars (and other farm vehicles), to prevent the rodents to climb up and into the car.
or just move

The two legged rats are attracting the four legged rats. People in these cities live a lot filthier lives than any rat could imagine.
The cars wires are made from soy for many years and the rats and other critters love the taste. Could this be intentional by the big 3?
I bet mechanics aren't complaining
Yes, they intentionally use the CHEAPEST material they can find. I don't think how it tastes to rodents is really a consideration.

Baking soda and cornmeal. Mix and put it in a container, with hole. They have acidic stomachs. It's safe for all other animals. Just not mice and ratz, blows up their stomachs.
