  • I’m breaking down what I’ve found dealing with these V shaped draws and drainages and how mature bucks love to bed in the subordinate thermal hubs and how they use the steeper sloped draws to hide themselves and allow them to move around in the shadows. #publiclandhunting #bowhuntingwhitetails #trailcam #bowhunter

That was really interesting how they will use these rocky drainages. I'm in more rolling hills, with small drainage, but it wouldn't surprise me that they would use these as well to get to their beds. Do you think they would use these on their way down again ?

When setting up on these beds, wouldn’t the buck wind you in the morning if the thermal is still dropping within the first hour? It would be my assumption that the bucks are getting back to their bed before or right at shooting light. What time in the mornings do you typically get pictures of bucks in these hubs?

Yeah if you push in to those thermal hubs higher up without enough wind you’ll be in trouble. Especially early. I see the most mature bucks moving in these spots right as the thermals switch. Usually it’s 9-11 am. So these spots are better for you to move into just as the thermals are rising at the elevation you want to setup in. What I try to do and it doesn’t always work out let me say. I try to combo these spots. Sit in the secondary switchback spots at first light then swing high into the hubs at thermal switch if nothing is happening lower down.

@@the_novemberwarrior1738 would this 9/11 time frame be pre rut as well ?
